I wanted to start listening to these episodes and how delightful it was to turn on this first episode in the playlist and hear Adam talk about Catherine Malabou's reading of Hegel and plasticity. I just downloaded this ebook myself and was reading it last night. Little coincidences like these always make me happy
Great to hear the podcast. I'm a PhD candidate in English at the University of Rhode Island, and I also teach at a prison. Check out my essay in Academe Magazine on the subject: "Why I Got to Prison: A Teacher's Plea for Societal Clemency." (I mention in the essay how my syllabus is designed, implicitly, to subvert the system.) Love to hear from you guys on any subject. Please keep up the good work!
What Althusser means by "the superstructure acts back on the base" was explained anything but clearly or probably anything but correctly. This is still the best podcast on Althusserl on the internet (atleast so far, haven't got to the end yet). Then again the competition doesn't exactly dazzle by its quality. I'll comment more if I run into any other muddled or incorrect explanations.
Got to the end of it, thank you. It was ok. Though as third critical comment I'd add that the second to last questions answer concerning religion was completely muddled and all over the place. But at most time you managed to be coherent.
The logos of Althusser as some kind rationality of society (if that is what it is) seems to have nothing to do with Heideggers logos. So I wonder why they were compared.

"Like theory apparel . . .?" Theory IS apparel.
