I don’t think Nietzsche can be interpreted in any salient way in the left-right paradigm. In terms of the left, (neoliberalism) he evidently disliked equality one of the cornerstones for contemporary neoliberalism.
Overall, I agree. I mean, I totally agree. I think the biggest upshot Nietzsche offers for a left politics is the critique of ossified institutions such as the state, the church, schools, etc. which suppress the manifestation of new forms of life.
@@AcidHorizon yeah you’re right he does tare down a lot of what we hold dear in a kind of relativistic fashion. Though of course in his later books he offers a solution Regardless always enjoy your vids especially about Nietzsche
The spectre of freedom does not come with equality. It never will. But it’s better than being a slave to a domesticated consumer society built on this contingency.
As someone doing a re-interpretation essay of untimely meditations currently (advantages/disadvantages of history for life) but sprinkling in some DnG for the political bend this was great!
Ha ha yep Petersonianism is the epitope of ressentiment while essentially claiming that is what his strawmen embody. Great conversation really helped me understand a part of Nietzsche’s writings I struggled with.
I find it hilarious when I hear the most whiny people wax upon Nietzsche as if they've ever come close to embodying a joyful, loving posture of one's fate (amor fati).
Ernst Junger and Yukio Mishima have good readings of Nietzsche both being right wing. It’s the truth is it’s impossible to really put him in a box. It’s why he will outlive Marx and Freud. Nietzsche the “madman” wins out over the “neurotic” and “revolutionary” that have been assimilated and will always be manipulated by the current structure. I see both Left and Right Nietzsches truly profound. Of course not the Nazi incarnation.
