  • Spend the weekend with us on 5 Acre Farm! Autumn is well and truly here in Victoria, Australia. We’re planting brassicas, including some different types that we’ve never planted before. I’m extra excited about the Romanesco Broccoli and the Macerata Green Cauliflower.
We also welcomed Chippie to 5 Acre Farm. He’s our new rooster that is settling in well. He came from Justin’s brother and family, so it’s super sweet to know where he grew up and to already know his temperament. We’ll do a full video of introducing him soon.
We do some cleaning up in the garden and make some sourdough bread that didn't last long at all. We cut it warm, added some butter and, yummm, it was so delicious!
Thank you so much for taking the time to check out our channel,

Isn’t he just gorgeous!! He’s a bit scared of the ladies still but roosting with them at night, so he’s getting there 🤣
The bread came out so good. I was surprised because I didn’t shape it “properly” hahaha

That’s a very colourful rooster. I hope he is a long way away from the house as he will make a very early alarm clock!

He’s gorgeous ay!?! He’s a little way away from the house but he’s not super loud, yet. He has a little crow in the morning but he’s not very loud at the moment.

Welcome Chippie 🎉 Look at the girls checking him out . Haha. Your sourdough looks delicious. The lady next to me at the farmers market ,years ago, saved all the meat trays etc thoroughly washed out and her stall was baked goods on those with a bit of cling wrap over . They looked really tidy and she used to make a tidy sum and sell our every time. Thank you for sharing lovely ❤

Thanks so much! The ladies are a bit mean to him but he’s getting braver 😂
The meat trays work so well and that’s a great idea to use them for baked goods.
Thanks for always leaving such sweet and informative comments xx

      Heya Christina!!
Hehe, yep! New wellies because my other ones are just slightly covering my feet with so many holes and cracks 🤣
They’re Merry People boots but they’re the ones that they did with an artist, so they’re loud and different 😁 I actually got the ‘care kit’ with these ones as I didn’t look after my other ones (which will be why they cracked so badly)… I haven’t used it yet but I should tonight 😂
Lovely to hear from you, I hope you’re going well xx

The meat trays are a great idea!! I’ll do that this weekend when I’m replanting most of my seeds because the stupid birds ripped all my seedlings out last weekend!! Grrr!!
So funny, when you were building the rooster coop I nearly messaged you asking if you wanted a Wyandotte because I had all boys this year, but didn’t know how I would get him over to you!!
Your sourdough looks delicious!! I’m hungry now just watching that!! Lol!!
Hope you are all well & staying warm. Xxx

Yeah, we’re pretty sure that Chippie is a Golden Laced Wyandotte 😁

I’m so keen to make a gluten free sourdough. We have a few friends and family members that are need gluten free, so it would be great to find a way to do it!
