    Jorgensen played a good game. Those smashes were well worked. Unfortunately, too many missed shots. You can't waste that many shots in hopes of beating the world No.1, LCW

    is it me or lee chong wei was the only badminton player that look and listen well when his coach was talking to him? like hes very well mannered. unlike other player, they look like they dont give a damn when their coach talks to them

      Yeah I noticed that too, he was always deferential towards his coaches.

      I think it’s because of the amount of time they get to towel down, change shirts, drink, eat (sometimes a banana) they dont have much time to look at the coach. But they’re most likely listening.

  • @ashok.vardhan.g
    @ashok.vardhan.g 8 лет назад +28

    Asian players (LCW, Lin Dan, Chen Long) are always so much better composed and focused on the courts. Jorgensen was too erratic and all over the place with his emotions, no wonder LCW got the better of him. Jorgensen should meditate.

    • @louong93
      @louong93 8 лет назад +5

      Lcw , lin dan and chen long also make silly mistake like Jan o jorgensen. In fact jorgesen played better than Lcw . But the problem is Lcw have a better strategy compared to Jan. He is a smart player. When Lin dan and Chen longlooses to Jorgensen because they are not able to defend against jan smashes. But Lcw defend and startegy is able to break jan's patience. But loosing to Lcw does not mean Jan is a bad player. Just look at younger player like other asian younger player like Sri kanth , tian hou wei and san wanho . They cant even stay as consistant as Jorgensen. When Lin dan and Chen long did not play older players like Hu yun, jorgensen or boonsak ponsana still play with consistency . What happen to new generation.?

    • @ashok.vardhan.g
      @ashok.vardhan.g 8 лет назад +8

      Even if the best strategy is given to an erratic, impatient, mind (like Jan) he will mess it up. That is what I meant about composure & focus. Jan was arguing with the referee, he got annoyed & distracted for inconsequential things, which shows he had already lost the game in his mind, which is why he was fighting everyone & everything else instead of the shuttle. I have been told LD used to be like that but even he changed, he does not behave like that anymore, which is why he is such a world class player. LCW is such a gentleman.
      JJ has such brute force and power, however, even a small man like LCW could outdo him. It takes a well trained mind to be able to do that. TaijiQuan
      The new generation will become better with some experience. Let's wait and watch. From what I have seen, Chen Long (if he is fit) will rule because he plays such a patient game, biding his time. CL's defense, coverage is just phenomenal. He moves very effortlessly around the court and seems to make mistake very rarely? Srikanth lacks the experience & training like the Chinese players are put through (who learn among themselves competing each other), it will be hard for him to match their game because India does not have enough world class players for him to train with at home.

      now lin dan is but he used to be known for being angry when losing or bad calls. he walked off an indonesian award ceremony before cus he didnt get 1st. now hes matured and he is every bit as humble and calm as lcw. i think its just younger players mainly, they work so hard so it has to be frustrating when u dont win a final. not excusing it tho

    I think badminton should change their rule. Should let players to have tow down more frequently.
    Like tennis, there is a person standing behind holding the towel. Badminton is a much faster game than tennis, hence generating more sweat in shorter time than tennis.
    Then the moppers would not be so hectic to mop as frequently as they usually do.

    • @AgentJ2007
      @AgentJ2007 4 года назад +2

      Well, I don’t fault the umpire for denying a tow down. Look at the situation, Jan o Jorgensen was 1 point away from an interval, he would have an opportunity for a tow down then. Secondly, rules for badminton and tennis are different. In badminton, the rules state that play must be continuous.

    • @AbsoluteXero
      @AbsoluteXero 7 лет назад +11

      The rule book says badminton should be continuous play. You should be allowed to ask for a towel down when the opponent wins the point, it's unfair and unsportsmanlike to break their momentum like that. Otherwise, every point would be asking for a towel down, that slows the game down for everyone. You don't want to open pandora's box and be in a situation where everyone gets a towel whenever they want.
