if this video doesnt convince everyone that lin dan is the undisputed GOAT, i dont know what will. what mental strength and fortitude to come back like that! INSANE! the ability...the intelligence...he barely played an attacking game, choosing longer rallies with slower pace and selected smashes as opposed to his younger usual style of full out attacking. the fact he could adjust so seamlessly between an intelligent game and a brute-force one just proves how versatile and complete a player he is.
it is an absolute privilege watching LD play. poetry in motion. the rest of the sporting world dont know what theyre missing. LD makes comebacks like these look like an everyday thing! how many other players do u see or know with even one or two comebacks like LD's? LEGEND.

+john smith It's simply undisputed Lin Dan is the Goat. To argue otherwise is stupid. #2 isn't even close. Another person who reminds me of the brilliance if Lin Dan is Michael Jordan of Basketball, Roger Federer of Tennis, Barry Bonds of baseball, Daigo Umehara of Street Fighter.

Obviously, LD just maintains roughly 70~80% of his summit level which erupted as the exclusive invincible prodigy till now during 2008~2012. People can resort to the videos recorded at that period when his quintessence showed. It's not a quite important job for him to seize another trophy, and the only thing bdmt fans can do is to enjoy the swansongs before his retirement.

10:37 Gill clark " Lin dan have won 19 Superseries titles if u think that is impressive? Lee Chong wei have won 39 Superseries titles". Is she trying to talk down Lin Dan?? how can she compare those things, cause back than when lin dan was at his best and world #1 since 2004-2008 there was no superseries titles. why don't she compare Lee's 0 major titles vs Lin Dan's 23 major titles. Even a young 21 year old Caroline Marin have 2 major titles. also she always against when people said Lin dan is the best player in history of badminton cause there were no olympic in old days than turn around and said Lee chong wai don't need any Olympic or WC title to be all time great player.

+Wen Su She's biased enough that everytime i see LCW lose to lindan i cheer for the loser, and i love LCW and i do wish that he would win just one major. to be fair, Axel is getting better and better, no doubt he's gonna be a great player one day, like Peter Gade. but i guess as long as LD still has what it takes to win, maybe this is the only way to say, "Clark, in your face!" :P

    • @linfeng5128
      @linfeng5128 9 лет назад +4

She was stupid enough to say that and we should be proud of LD as he broke her wish again. We dont have to say he is the best of all time but if anyone ever doubt about LD's achievement, the only grand slam in badminton history would just let them shut the fk up.

A commentator's job is to comment. To comment can be a statement of fact or opinion, especially a remark that expresses a personal reaction or attitude (refer to definition 2a from thefreedictionary.com). I value Gillian Clark's opinion and other former badminton champions who join her to give comments. I wonder where you came up with the idea that she has to be neutral. Who taught you that?

Well it's not often you see these kinds of comebacks.
Considering how bad Lin Dan has played in a lot of matches this year, it was very likely he would lose.

+Sachin Kannan I have been watching most matches on this channel and have been doing so for years, even before this channel existed I watched a lot matches on RUclips. So please don't come with this lame argument that I haven't been following tournaments or so and calling me troll.
As far as I can see she always says positive things about both opponents. She is just trying to open people up to the idea that for example China isn't the force it was until 2012 and that players like Lin Dan or Lee Chong Wei aren't what they were 3-4 years ago.
I'm not saying she is the perfect commentator, she repeats herself a lot, but she is doing the best job at explaining the tactics of players etc.
So far no one has brought an argument why she is biased towards any player or nation. Everyone is just jumping on the bandwagon and says that she is biased.

I have some theory questions and I hope someone could answer:P
1.Why does they always serve low straight instead of the the other corner to make opponent bow down? is it because its quicker?
    2. When they hit high shots to corner i see the usual reply is a straight drop. Why is that ?
    3. When a quick exchange happened in the middle i see both players hitting it straight to each other what it seems why not aim sharper corners?
    Someone out there please...:)

+Ezrael Cadris 1. They serve straight because it gives their opponent less angles and also like you say its quicker as it is a shorter distance.
      2. The usual reply is a straight drop because if they hit it a cross-court drop for example their opponents can hit a net or drive/lift down to the opposite side leaving them stranded when they hit the drop shot.
      3. I'm not sure about the answer to your third question. I think it's because they are trying to work each other out and play safe as they don't want to make a mistake and to wait for the ideal opportunity and not try to force a winner.

This is only based on how I feel when I play:
      1. If I serve to corner, either of these will happen: I tilt my body and my posture will not be neutral when the opponent return my serve. I keep my body neutral but my stroke will be different depending on whether I am serving from left or right and it will mess my serve stroke's consistency. Another reason is, during serve, the opponent is already positioned in the correct half of the court, serving to the corner does not do much damage.
      2. When my opponent hit high shots to corner, I do not have enough time to position myself and I usually need to hit the shuttle behind my head. This takes a lot of power from my stroke and unless I put extra power, the shuttle will not fly high enough and opponent can intercept it. If I cross drop, the shuttle need to travel farther and it gives opponent enough time to intercept in front of the net, unless my stroke is perfect and it is very close to the net.
      3. In a quick exchange, response time needs to be very quick. It is very difficult to control the ball within such little time and if I aim to the corner, it is most likely going too wide. Another reason is, returning a quick shot to one's body is difficult because one's hand position will be awkward, especially if one's arm is long and one grip the racket very close to the end of the grip. Another reason is, shuttle travel less distance in a straight shot, thus minimizing response time of opponent.

Why Viktor Axelsen was awarded the point here 25:11, whereas the shuttle landed in his own court side?

Victor should blame the line judge and umpire. The nonsense service faults and umpire not letting LD towel off made him so angry, of course that will make him play 10x harder LOL. As soon as I saw how mad he was at 1:06:35 I knew he was going to make a comeback and win.
