VIDEO GOT BLOCKED GUYS!!
Damn fam!!! Sorry to hear that!! You gotta be super super careful. You don't wanna get your channel taken down. These mofos at Youboob are pieces of 💩💩💩💩
It happens sometimes
WTH youtube in finicky
Did prince do it to or just wrote it , yes awesome but cornell does just as good
RUclips is full of it. They will block you without telling you why but when your video runs they put 5 adds in it.
One of the best vocal performances of all time
Absolutely! I still can't listen to this without getting a tear in the eye.
Agreed. She's so good. This is one that got through even when I was a grouchy, cynical teenager.
She's even better live!!
She lives a 5 minute walk from me
She was traumatized , abused in every way by her mother and the catholic church in Dublin Ireland . She also still loved her mother and in this song , she misses her mother , her mother died in 85 in a car crash . This angel is truly one of a kind youal❤❤❤❤❤❤👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤❤❤❤❤❤
The pain being described is not something anyone wants to feel, but anyone who has truly been in love and lost that love, knows this feeling.
👌 No words needed!
She's wearing a black turtleneck, standing against a black background, wearing minimal makeup, shaved head. She wants you to focus on her voice, the music, the song. She was very beautiful back then, she doesn't want you distracted by her beauty. Catch her live video, it's great.
And the result was absolut opposite. With all that minimalism her natural beauty is in focus.
@@tim10243 True!
I saw an interview where she was saying that the original vid concept wasn't going to be so solely focused on her, She didn't say it directly but it was clear she just had the filmers mesmerised by her and they kept the focus on her.
Hi Christine, It was also a protest against the record Companies who were just hiring pretty little things who couldn't sing but looked good, a truly great performer & great singer
That was in the back of my mind when I began shaving my head 5 years ago. I wanted to put focus on my personality, but it actually resulted in my getting dm'ed by guys who found me attractive because of my haircut.
That was a real tear of emotion. This song makes cry almost every time I see the emotion in her face.. And I'm a 40 year old man.
Same here bro dont feel bad.
@Lauter Beobachter Ditto...
Absolutely! I can't help but tear up every time! And I'm 56.
Than listen to her singing "troy". Goosebumps.
I cannot make it through this video without crying. So beautiful and genuine. I read somewhere that it took several takes to make the video because she kept breaking down. Don’t know if that’s true or not but much respect for Sinead for her integrity!! Absolutely beautiful voice!! One of the best!! 🥲❤️
I believe it. I cry every time I see the vid.
I was 13 when this song came out. I could feel the pain in her voice. Love it. Still listen to it.
Her song "Troy" (written by herself) is in my top 10 best songs ever.
@@harrynac6017I keep hearing about that one. Gon check it. 🫡
Her voice is incredible absolutely incredible. She passion and power. Yes this was a huge song and of course billboard number one. Written by Prince and rumor says he was jealous how well her version did
Definitely jealous. I love Prince but this one belongs to Sinead.
RIP to them both. 🕊✊🏽💔
@@77Creation yes RIP to both.
I just wish he had responded in the same way Dolly Parton did when Whitney Houston covered her song "I Will Always Love You". Nothing but joy and gratitude...
Rest in Peace Shinade O Conner. 🙏 I know u are at Peace and u got your wings.
Her first two albums "Lion & The Cobra" and "I do Not Want What I Haven't Got" are amazing masterpieces and deeply affecting. There isn't a bad song on them.
Such an emotionally moving & beautiful song. Sinead O"Connor has a truly unique and melodic voice. I used to listen to this when it first came out & still do...Prince did write it but she was the perfect artist on this! Take care guys!
This came out when I was a teen. Her voice and emotion on that Prince lyric is 💥. It has aged so beautifully.
She cried when she sang the lube ‘ I know that living with you baby was sometimes hard. ‘ it was about her mother you got it guys ! 👌🏻
Agreed, Sinead O'Connor is an absolutely incredible vocalist. This is a cover song but she pretty much made it her own, this is a masterpiece of a song.
It's not a cover, no one else sang it prior to her, it was just written by someone else, Prince!
@@HonRevPTB Actually it was recorded and released on an album by The Family, a group on Prince's Paisley Park label, before this version was recorded.
If I'm not mistaken, it was written by Prince and he gave her to record. It was recorded by Prince but never released until 2018.
@@vickiejenkins-tripp5994 You are absolutly right, But it was not Prince himself, given it to her. It was his manager, who later on became Sinead's manager. Prince started singing his version live, after Sinead became famours with the song. Prince never wanted Sinead to sing it, because he did not like her attitude. When he first met her a few years later, they got in to a real fight, and Sinead must ran to the next door neighbor. Sinead's version was number 1 on Top 100 song chart in 1990.
If you like her voice, listen to "Troy". That song she wrote herself. Listen to it without interruptions, because it's building up. Her voice is unearthly good in that song.
This song makes me cry every time I hear it 😓
Me too! My wife loved this song.
@@Jaydon05,Your comment about your wife was in past tense. What happened? 😐
She felt it so much she actually cries in the video thats a good song when the singer feels it
Glad you guys liked this song, it’s such an iconic video and vocal performance!
This songs just bleeds emotion. I’m 46 and can remember listening to it back when it came out. Exact same emotions I had then I have now. Brings back memories.
She has an absolutely stunning voice. She was so damn good in this song.
she rocks the buzz cut because she wants to be taken as a serious artist. She's quite pretty with long hair.
She was quite pretty with buzzed hair too.
She is pretty with a buzz cut. But Lovelier still with long hair.
I never understood that. I took her as a serious artist way before I ever saw what she looked like. Now I am trying to imagine her with long hair.
This amazing Sinead song is more than 30 years old.
I have heard it literally hundreds of times.
And the power and soul of her voice still makes me cry in 2021....
Hundreds??? That’s it….try thousands…..lol
Listen to her "Troy", she wrote it herself. It was very popular in Europe.
That was the line that got me - All the flowers . . . when my mother died and I remembered the roses and our yard and how it was long gone . . . I can't get through that line without it cutting like a knife.
Lost my wife after 35yrs 10 days ago to cancer I know how it fills i think I will have permanent tear in my eye. Make sure you everybody you care about you love them because they may not be there tomorrow..great reaction to a great song my friends
I consider myself quite a tough person but reading your comment actually made me cry. I hope you are holding up well.
@@zebbedi I am coping the best I can thank you for caring 🙏
She’s Irish with a very Irish name. It’s pronounced like Shinade.
sha nade
shuh-nayd
As in lemonade , shin aid or shan aid
It means Joan/ Joanna/ Jo-Anne
She did have a really bad relationship with her mother and in an interview she said she was thinking about that when she sang this.
Super impressed that he caught on to that. Makes the song all the more heartbreaking.
Her mother had died only a year before this too.
*Deleted Wrong thread*
I love Sinead so much!! ❤🌹❤🌹🔥🔥🔥It's great to see her get some love from the younger generation after being so unappreciated in mine!!👏👏👏❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹💯💯
This song, and her singing it, has it's rightful place in the annals of music! And, that's it!
I had the same reaction. I see her eyes get glassy and her lips curl up, and I just want to give here a hug.
This song was written by Prince. There is also a really good cover by Chris Cornell.
All versions are great
Love the Chris Cornell cover.
Horribly amused by the Me First and the Gimme Gimmes cover.
Have you heard the Chris Cornell version?
I didnt know it was a cover, every time I heard the name of the song I straight away said sinaed oconner lol
I was surprised by Chris version, really impressed and added it to my track list
Great reactions, your girlfriend seems so empathetic and we both agree she has the most beautiful voice
This is a powerful song, but for me, one of her first songs - "Troy" - knocks it out of the ball-park. One of the most amazingly emotional songs ever.
yup fact!
Troy - really that entire first album - is fire!!!!
Troy is the greatest love song ever written. Beats hallelujah for me hands down. I would have loved Jeff Buckley to get a hold of Troy but he passed disgustingly too soon.
Troy is sick. And Drink before the war
Troy is utter insanity/genius mixed in perfect balance
If this song touches you guys, you were raised right
Thank you for the reactions. I'm sorry for your lost mother.
Awww you guys are the BEST
Thank you for the reaction, girl, you had me in tears, love from Ireland xx
Prince 💜 wrote it, Sinead, pronounced shin-aid, blew it up!!
She had a very tragic upbringing and her rebellious nature took over.
But what a voice.
Love your channel!! 👍
P.S. this video was not blocked after you pinned it was! 🤷♀️
Awwe man soo sorry your mom passed you are beautiful inside n out!
this was no1 in the UK charts for several weeks in 1990. Absolute classic !
One of the most beautiful faces too for a short haired woman
Hair doesn’t make a face pretty.
RIP to the goddess. 🕊💔✊🏽
It was right after her mom died that she was very close to. Originally it's a Prince song.
Keen observation bro. Sinead O'Connor has since said in interviews that she had many issues with her mother growing up. So, that's dope that you picked up on that. 👌🏽
Actually the song fire on Babylon is about her mother
@@toddcole1805 I didn't say this song was. I said she mentioned in an interview that she had issues with her mother.
@@MichaelLesesne fair
An amazing performance by Sinnead (Pronounced Shin-aid) performing a song written by the great Prince!
Sinéad O'Connor rocked the world with this song, all the way back in 1991. You guys are amazing, and especially you Kae, for reaching out to her about her low self-esteem and you'd talk her back to health again. Amazing. Everybody has heartbreaking losses (if you never have, please contact me: I'd love to meet someone who's escaped this hail of bullets.) and we need songs like this for those times.
Olivia , you're reactions are so deep , heartfelt and sincere - you truly touched my heart ❤️
Not only is her vocals are strong as hell, but ontop of that. The video is intensely focused on her face. So you can feel the emotion in her face
The story I heard was her mum had died. This came out when I was heartbroken over a guy. Love Sinead 💗 good reaction. Please react to her music video for her song “Mandinka”.
wonderful reaction you 2 !!! 💗💖
Some people feel love more than others, Seanaid, Has my love!
I've forgotten how brilliant this song is. You just don't get this sort of music in the mainstream nowadays!
Absolutely brilliant
I’ve been listening to every DJ playing her song.Apart from losing her mother, who was very abusive towards her,she also lost her son a year ago.She was iconic.
Could well have been said by someone else but the video where she is singing was all filmed in one none stop take.
The song is about multiple losses, the love of her life, her mama..
This song was written years before she sang it, by another person (Prince). So it has nothing to do with her. I'm a huge Prince fan, but Sineads version is the best.
This is so beautifully made video so simple but powerful.. thank you sinead and prince ❤️
BILLBOARD #1 FOR 4 WEEKS IN 1990 💘🔝💘
I appreciate the pausing and your opinion of the song. Thanks for what your doing. Keep it up 😃✌️
You will never understand the value of a song if you keep stopping it
It will also get blocked if they don't.
Sorry for your loss! Really love watching you, two kids!! And I've always loved Sinead!!
Sinbad O'Connor has always been borderline insane but her entire catalog of music is ridiculously brilliant and her voice is otherworldly
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@byzinski um ok 👌
Watch her do it live onstage- wow!✌️✨
Her name is pronounced sha-nade. She had another hit song in the 80's called "i want your hands on me".
Original song was by Prince and Chris Cornell covered it. They are all good, but this is the best version.
Original song was written by Prince, then Sinead covered it and Prince tried to get it blocked because she sang the fuck out of it then Chris Cornell covered it. This bitch was bad long before Cornell thought of doing this song. Sinead is one of the greatest singers of the 20th century.
No. Prince WROTE it. Gave it to Sinead to use and sing. He never performed it. And as for anyone else trying to cover this, GOOD LUCK. This will never be touched. Ever. Don't even try to improve this. Impossible.

@@GetOnTheFloor82 Actually the original version put out by Prince's protégé band The Family crushes this. The musical arrangement alone with strings is miles ahead of this.
@@artdogg50 oh yeah that really famous worldwide original version? This tops it. Come on it’s sheer singing talent and emotion.
She got crazy popular after performing this song (written by Prince). Then, on SNL (Saturday Night Live), in protest to all of the children abused by priests in the Catholic church, she tore up a picture of Pope John Paul II. Everyone turned on her and it killed her career. There's another video of her performing with Kris Kristopherson. When she came out on stage the entire crowd booed her. She stood defiant, sang a different song called War, then broke down on her way off stage as Kris held her. She had a troubled life growing up, abused by her mother, and after this her life basically fell apart. She says she has bipolar disorder. Married four times, addicted to marijuana for 30 years, attempted suicide. Converted to Islam in 2018. As of a week ago, November 10, 2020 she said she's entering a year long rehab and postponing her 2020 concerts.
"This year I lost someone beloved and has affected me so badly that I became briefly addicted to a drug other than weed."
She was ahead of her time regarding the sexual abuse. Nobody listened and it turns out she was right. I hope she gets the help she needs👍🙏
I hope that one day each of you do love someone so much that losing them would completely wreck you. Love freely with your whole being. And may that love last a lifetime.
The part of the song
"All the flowers that you planted mama, in the backyard" "all died when you went away".. that part hits hard... to everyone who has heard this song.
She definitely has a beautiful voice! One of my favorite female vocalist for sure! Another beautiful voice you should check out is Eva Cassidy, Who left us way too soon,But blessed us with her amazing voice, listen to her singing Danny boy
It's 'SHi-need' from what I can remember. Like the Cranberries, she's also Irish.
I'm not Irish but I always have that affinity for Irish music.
Her name is pronounced Shin-ade. The song was written by Prince, The reason she tears up when she sings the lyric mother is because she had a horrific relationship w/ her mother and it hit her when she sang that!
🤘🤘❤🤘🤘😁✌🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The perfect Prince song for the perfect voice!!!!
Shakespeare's sister- stay, heartfelt n loved❤
Not a lot of girls can pull off that hair and still very naturally loo that stunningly beautiful.
Sinead O Connor , most Angelic Irish singer that I have ever heard and beautiful inside and out , she was traumatized all her life , down to losing her 17 old son to suicide . Prince wrote the song but Sinead opened Heaven with her voice in it ❤❤❤❤❤👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 love me sum Sinead . Youal should do her Troubles of the world video 😉❤❤❤👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Wow, you guys are pretty smart. She didn't open up about this song for the longest time, like pretty much until very recently, and her mom was mentally ill, and very very abusive to her, and she said of her mother that she ran a "torture chamber" and also sexually abused her. Despite all of the horrific abuse at her mother's hands, she said that she loves her mother (who was killed in a car accident when she was 19) and forgave her. I'm sorry that you lost your mom, you're very young, and my heart goes out to you. Love your videos! Keep up the good work.
My oldest son loved this song. He knew how to work the vcr and would play it over and over for himself and his baby brother.
She performed the most amazing version of Silent Night that I’ve ever heard.
I’m going to google... but, if you have a link. Please.
Ireland has a tough history of oppression, great hunger, emigration, etc... and Irish are extremely musical. One thing I think Irish do probably better than anyone is to express deep, deep sorrow in a uniquely haunting Irish way. You can really hear that in Sinéad's vocals... She is ripped apart, and crying out but still so incredibly beautiful with an Irish lilt.
Her name is pronounced.
Shin-nayd And she ROCKS
I was fortunate enough to see her perform this song live.
This was a great reaction!
Song always makes me cry.
This song was about her Mother who had recently died.
That was my jam !
This song gets me a lil emotion as well
Yes- Prince💜wrote it- however the first time I EVER heard it was by a group called “The Family.” Early- mid 80’s- nobody ever mentions that one- all reading this should check it out- and 💯 agreed, they should check out Chris Cornell’s version and Sinead doing it live- ✌️✨
Thank you! The Family is the best version in my opinion!
I remember this one was VERY popular on the video jukeboxes in 1990
Brilliant song, amazing reactions
Finally he gets her. This song she’s talking about her mom who passed away before she did the video.
One of the most beautiful songs ever recorded. If this doesn't touch your heart, you probably don't have one.
Chris Cornell made it acoustic version of this song which was written by the artist Prince. It brought me to tears with its depth of emotion. The prince version was almost papash and in a strange way almost Happy. Sinead O'Connor's version did not move me. If you do review Chris's version of the song please do the Sirius XM station sessions. He also did the songs nearly forgot my broken heart and fell on Black Days. They will bring you to tears. I would really love to see what Miss Livy thinks of Chris Cornell. With respect always to you both Brant Heavner. 😊😊
She sang this in 1990! She’s about 52 yrs old today
I remember i had a crush on her when the video was released. And i was in love a few years later with a girl who had almost the same face and the same eyes as her.
This was number 1 when I was having my heart broken for the first time. it still makes me sad. Prince wrote it.
It is great seeing young people going back to music from back in the day, it was so much better then.
yes she was crying ant it her mother who i think just passed away when she recorded the song
Prince wrote this about quitting smoking. She cried at that point because it reminded her of her mother
Good job guys
Ah Sinead. Brilliant singer and songwriter. listen to "Stretched On Your Grave". She takes an ancient Irish poem and turns it into a reggae/rock anthem to a dead lover. Chills!
The video is just her face, those eyes, that voice. Still gets to me.
Sinead O'Connor é maravilhosa! Arrepiante ♡♡♡
Vai em bora! 🙋
I felt this way about someone once. Oh... no, wait... that's pizza. I love pizza. People are okay.
Nice reaction. Very genuine
our mamas are our best friends.
