  • 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐥𝐚𝐦 - 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 (𝐈𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐦) out now! 💥 New album Wheel Of Fortune out this Friday June 7: lnk.to/GrandSl...
    #grandslam #cometogetherinharlem #wheeloffortune
    Grand Slam directly engage with their talismanic, legendary founding energy with “Come Together (In Harlem)”, a moody, strutter of a song from the Phil Lynott days with (mostly) Phil Lynott’s lyrics.
    “‘Come Together (In Harlem)’ is the only one song on the album which came from ’84,” offers guitarist and co-founding member Laurence Archer, “Phil (Lynott) had a little bit of a thing about pop music as we call it, and he started going down this pop line at the time. I went away, completely rearranged it, wrote another part, and just brought it into our back yard. The whole song is really about ‘let’s come together’. The original subject matter was derived from Harlem by Phil, and we’ve extended the song into something else.”
    Wheel Of Fortune will be released this Friday June 7th on digital and physical formats. The album will be available in a variety of formats and pre-orders can be placed here: lnk.to/GrandSl...

    A modern rock classic, with more natural talent than so many younger groups out there. Grand Slam have a great sound, a great voice, an amazing drummer and a genius guitarist! Deserves big time rock festival gigs and huge album sales.
    Can’t stop listening to the album, very catchy and it’ll really pump you up for the day!

    I recognize the riff at the beginning. I just like the old demo with Phil better. There felt like there was a bit more soul to it.
    I'm not saying this is bad. And I'm glad Lawrence Archer can finally do something with the songs he helped write so long ago.
    I just think that the old demo with Phil had a much better vibe and rhythym to it.

      No swing, a sublime piece played by clumsy musicians incapable of writing their own music and who sustain themselves by endlessly betraying their past.

      @@mikekelly2324 I don't understand what you don't get. The original music was excellent, but thid cover is terrible, lacking both swing and feeling. Laurence is merely trying to make money. From both a musical and ethical perspective, all these actions are wrong. If you have intelligence, you can understand it. If you have ears, you can hear it. It’s simply bad music for bad reason.

    L Archer is a brilliant guitarist, I was lucky enough to see him on stage with UFO in Melun in 1992, I still listen to High Stakes And Dangerous Men, this album is really excellent, I wish he'd made more studio albums with them. Grand Slam a perfect album.

      You do realise the guitarist...there ..that one in the video..actually wrote the song..

    • @S-dr7jx
      @S-dr7jx 2 месяца назад +1

      @@rockwiththearchers8599 This song was written by Phil Lynott and if you listen the earliest versions of this song, they primarily feature vocals and synthesizer. Therefore, asserting that Archer wrote the song is a significant exaggeration.Over 30 years ago, Archer added his guitar part. Since then, despite his claims of being the inspiration behind Grand Slam in many interviews, he hasn't created anything noteworthy. In my opinion, Mark Stanway was the real alter-ego of Phil in Grand Slam. Also, what I dislike about this new version of Grand Slam, as well as Black Star Rider, is that their music is really lowbrow, with a false aggressiveness. It's very much hard FM, completely unlike Thin Lizzy, which was a band that swung, very subtle and inventive.

      I don’t see you in the top 10 rock charts with 100k + views ……. If you can’t say anything nice - say nothing at all. Trolls lead very sad lives.

      @S-dr7jx 2 месяца назад +2

      @@TheCoralWesty When one claims to be the heirs of a great musician, and Phil Lynott was indeed a great musician, one honors him by playing his music correctly and crediting him as he deserves. As for your comment, you can put it where I think. If you believe that Thin Lizzy fans are stupid enough to applaud just anything, you are mistaken. And I'm not a troll; I'm someone who listens to music with both ears. Not looking at the number of likes and being impressed by the business aspects.

    • @TheCoralWesty

      I think you should learn your facts - the lead guitarist was best friends with Phil, i know a family who was best friends with Phil - stop spreading negativity as a troll with things you don’t have a clue about. In this world if you can’t be anything at all BE KIND !
