@texas is bigger than france : yes they are interesting, but not really relaxing and I'm not sure many people would be happy to fall asleep listening to this at the moment ;). This is also why I keep my channel entirely free of coronavirus stuff; I don't think the people who come here need more of something that is already everywhere.
Frenchie: "Once upon a time..." Me: So far so good. Frenchie: "Zeus, king of the gods..." Me: That checks out. Frenchie: "... used magic to trick a woman into getting pregnant..." Me: I'm with you. Frenchie: "... but she slept with her husband the same night and had twins by two different men." Me: hol up
As always, your work is splendid. I'm a classicist and mythologist with a specialization in Greek mythology, and your retelling was consistent and compelling. Thank you!
I just want to share that I keep this video in a tab in my phone's browser, so I can access it immediately whenever I need to. I get migraines once/twice a month, and I often feel anxious. This video really helps me with both of those issues, because it's so smoothly told and exceptionally gently-spoken (which is true for all of your videos). So please know how appreciative I am for your wonderful work.
Your voice is smooth and smokey, if that makes sense. Its like silk, its cadence flows in such a way that its both relaxing and enthralling. Jean Reno-esqe honestly. Its only natural that you should do a video on french and american jazz clubs of the 20's and 30's.
Stumbled on your videos while looking for a storyteller i can fall asleep to while actually learning something. I’ve always been interested in Greek mythology and i instantly fell in love with this channel. Ended up waking up today and telling my mother the story i heard the night before lol
Roman/Greek history/mythology videos are my favourite. Gives me nostalgia for my school years. Amazed by your ability to consistently produce absolutely gold content
Its so interesting to see all these props at the beginning of each video. I also remember the old videos were you showed us things you found during your journeys. I imagine your rooms must easily compete with museums. Really amazed.
These videos are saving my sleep. I've watched you for years but recently anxiety cursed me again and your green mythology videos helped me the past few days. The other night I literally just listened to your videos for 4 hours, helps me relax and not focus on anxious feelings. Also I realized how interesting greek mythology is! It's been a blast listening to you!
**whispering** bonjour French Whisperer. Thank you for all your amazing content. I hope you are doing well during this unique & shared global experience.
Your videos are always a treat to listen to, I work in medical and your videos always help unwind after a stressful day (especially during this time) So thank you 💚
Ahhh ya another story from my main man!! Settle in for a good night of relaxation and knowledge. I just want you to know I appreciate you. Lot of craziness going on in the world but these videos allow me to check out and relax. Hope you and your family are safe and healthy. And that goes to everyone else reading these comments. This too shall pass! Love and light to all
This is absolutely fantastic content. The visuals are slow and calming; the details and storytelling are both engaging and informative; the recitation is tingly and soothing. I've been really enjoying reading and learning about Greek mythology and the Trojan war, so this is a perfect companion piece for my interest. Thank you so much for sharing this.🤍
This channel is just absolutely amazing! I love what you’re doing here. The slide show is incredible, your introductions are awesome. This is really amazing, thank you so very much for what your doing here. This is a wonderful way to learn about history, it’s captivating and it’s very relaxing. I share your channel frequently with everyone, this is just awesome! Thank you!!
Yaaaay new one! Thank you for all your wonderfully thoughtful videos. You are probably so fascinating to converse with given your range and depth of topics. Sending love from the US!
"Once upon a time..." I was just going to say "Yeah, Zeus did it more than once" when the next sentence was literally about Zeus' many affairs. Maybe except Athena who apparently was born out of Zeus' splitting headache. While it's not documented if Hera accused Zeus of masturbating too much to Oxford University's "The Philosophical Quarterly" before "giving birth" to Athena, we're forced to assume that she did.
According to Hesiod and Apollodorus, Athena's mother was Metis, whom Zeus swallowed to prevent Metis from bearing a son greater than his father as predicted by a prophecy. Instead of a son, Athena was the result, and she sprang from Zeus' head.
@@akaste9 So Zeus banged Metis as well? The books I read as a child glossed over Metis and just said Zeus was having the migraines of the century and at their peak Athena burst out of his head. And she's the goddess of war and wisdom. It's weird Zeus tried to challenge the prophecy in such a way since his father did the same thing and the prophecy still came true. So why did Zeus escape that prophecy? Unless he didn't because there was no prophecy, no Metis and he masturbated to "The Philosophical Quarterly" while throwing thunderbolts at his brothers' worshipers and Athena burst out from his brain, percolating with philosophical ideas and aggressive actions against an arbitrarily chosen target.
@@ashesnight5362 I also trust "Asterix" comics. In the album (and animated feature) "The Twelve Tasks of Asterix" where Caesar challenges Asterix and Obelix to perform Hercules' tasks, one of the tasks is getting a permit but they need to file the correct forms and paperwork. They were served a relatable dish of bureaucratic hassle and administrative ineptitude. :D
Hello I love these old stories, I'm just watching, Jason and the argonauts on TV, it's the only film with five stars, serial repeater, but i watch it every time, entranced.
I have to say I appreciate these videos so much because I get interested in the story and excited to learn about it in such a relaxing way :) They’re so well put together and thought out you deserve a lot more recognition for what you do. Subscribed
Bonne continuation. 😊
The labours were a great tool for Greek colonialism. They acted as a sort of religious justification for Greek claims in the western Mediterranean. Their colonial rivals, the Phoenicians, even got in on the act and reinvented Melqart as Heracles. Or perhaps Heracles was hellenized Melqart.
Thank you, I requested Greek mythology and you responded, lovely please read on Cupid and Psyche if you can, thank you again, your voice is my medicine, xx.
I've actually seen the original Herc & the Nemean Lion statue at the Getty Museum. It's really quite breathtaking. There are traces of the paint that covered it still remaining, even after nearly 2,000 years
The Heracles trials deal with the progression through the lessons of the Zodiac. When our spirit is able to complete the cycles, we are born into the 13th. 😉
Thank you so much for all your hard work put into your videos. I've said it before and I want you to know how much I appreciate it! Now I'll be going to bed early, because I know I'll be able to sleep. Just so you know, I do listen to your videos while awake, which is how I know how great they are!!💚💚 Stay healthy & safe!❤❤
Awesome content, thank you! As an audio engineer though I must say that a bit more de-esser on your vocals will make them clearer and easier to understand.
Or another idea is to story tell about all the different Greek gods and how they correlate to the Roman gods. I personally love Greek and Roman mythology; I would love to here you talk about them!!!
For years we called him Hercules. Since I’ve been playing Assassins Creed Odyssey I found out it’s Heracles. Stupid US school systems teaching us wrong 😑. But I love this channel and thank you for all your work. I love history and ASMR

History of Achilles?
I was wondering about that as well , but I'm assuming some of the info might be off
Whisper, muse, whisper of the rage of Achilles
