I was there, in the audience at the debate. Actually sat just near Cenk.
It was incredible, and our side kicked absolute ass!! We had the facts, the statistics, and the firm explanation. The opposition put up nothing but empty rhetoric you could burst with a feather. They were wrong and they knew it.
Cenk was easily the best speaker - even the conservative kids sat next to me were amazed at this dude's thunder elbows from the sky he was dropping, and his passion. We hit it outta the park, and was great to see in person!

Sad the elder did not take the time to investigate what Cenk went through with MSNBC before he spat out "you were ..." It was a personal attack as opposed to a counterpoint. Cenk is human, he has made mistakes as we all have. Leaving MSNBC with his integrity was not a mistake on his part.

i'm going to argue by your example.. what you said is true if you're just an odinary citizen. but if you are the ceo of a company, then paying an MP that million others voted will suit your interests. similarly you can pay both the competing Mps to ensure the better future of your company's interests

sure.... if a company decides to pay one or multiple candidates running for some position in office, then once the candidates are elected, they can pass laws which give the companies tax cuts and reduce regulations .. this would ensure greater profits for the company.
take the case of a drug company that creates some sort of life saving drug. now you know that people are gonna want to have it no matter the cost. so the owner of the company can simply pay up the probable candidate and get tax cuts and hence greater profits.
or you could look at a automobile manufacturer. To ensure high fuel efficiency the govt has set up some mileage standards which means some company has to spend some amount in research and develop costlier tech to match the higher mileage while also selling at an affordable price which means lower profit. they can simply prevent this by paying the people controlling the laws..
i have no problem with individual people giving money to politicians. as for your "why would people buy cars with lower fuel efficiency?" -- consider this.. a lower fuel efficiency also equates to higher emissions per mile travelled.. and most people dont care about emissions , they care about torque, they care about speed.. heck most people dont care about climate change.. so the notion of a "let the free market decide" fails when you have an uninformed and unscientific public.

I disagree with TYT on a lot of stuff, and I often find Cenk and Ana to be quite annoying. In this one however, Cenk hit the nail on the head and has done a terrific job. I think that even most of his harsh critics will agree with me.
