  • Just like everything, you have to train your body to feel what you are measuring if you plan to use a haptic device to inform you about how much G-Force you are experiencing. Think of Helicopters, Piston Aircraft, as well as your Jets! ~ Juice

Im sure your tired of hearing us beat this horse....however simshaker for aviators allows you to set the exact amount of +/- g's when the gforce event triggers. It also automatically detects your airframe and switches profiles.
Switch when you can. Hapticonnect ahould be tagged as a public beta imo.

Going to look at SimHub as well, thanks for the suggestion! 😉No harm at all, I'm just hoping you guys realize that the reason I'm sticking with HaptiConnect is to bring it up to the capabilities you desire. The important thing to realize is that it is only designed to be used with the ButtKicker hardware as the proprietary design is unique. To use other software with this hardware requires different input levels to achieve the balance created by HC software, and using HC on other items could either cause below desired threshold effects, or even cause thermal overload of your non BK device. I agree that BK or HC isn't for everyone, but for my Bolt-On Seat Rig, it's well suited for what is programed into DCS Fixed-Wing aircraft, not perfect, which is why I'm working with them to improve it. We're in direct contact with ED too at the same time, and have all parties in one accord to add to the HaptiConnect experience since DCS in the mix is relatively new. Our big push now is heli-haptics and we have a dedicated team of former military helicopter pilots on that. Tyro, Tekada, and a few of us ground crew that flew often in the back are developing parameters and levels of intensity to get the 50% default slider settings in the middle of the field. The work by a software programmer (and us volunteers) is why this software cost money.
Here's some info about the product:
ButtKicker brand low frequency haptic feedback transducers utilize a patented magnetic suspension which is different from any other speaker or shaker and can be used couches, theater seating, platforms, and any type of structure. ButtKicker transducers accurately reproduce the "feeling" range of many natural and man-made sounds, such as earthquakes, thunderstorms, rocket launches, waves, explosions, tornadoes, volcanoes, dinosaurs, sound effects and all styles of music.
Different from other shakers or tactile transducers that use voice coil technology, ButtKicker transducers are much more powerful, more musical (linear) and offer true infrasonic or low frequency response with their resonant frequency of 9 Hz and range of 5 - 200 Hz.
One ButtKicker transducer will easily replace 2 - 4 or more of the other types of shakers previously available, and perhaps more importantly: it is virtually indestructible and maintenance free.
If you are looking to delight and electrify yourself and others with an affordable and easy to use solution, now is the time to incorporate ButtKicker brand low frequency audio transducers into your design and to "Feel what you've been missing!"

Agree. That’s a habit one has to make while flying virtually. I only monitor Gs while flying the Viper and Sabre to prevent G-lock/ blackouts. The rest I just monitor the alpha gauge.

I thought I was doing a good job of managing G in air combat with just the sound and a glance at my HUD but now I’m convinced it’s better with the Haptic response. Tyro told me today that when he flew the T-1A simulator in training they flew with Anti-G suits on and they had an inflatable cushion on the seat so with lap belts tightened, it inflated and tightened up to make the sensation of being pushed down in the seat. We need that Haptic!

    • @MeplusYellow
      @MeplusYellow 4 месяца назад

@@AIRWARFAREGROUPcompletely agree. Haptic feedback is a game changer. Not even just on Gs but for everything. Things like speed shudders or air brake resistance on landing as well as the stall sensation that’s replicated by haptic. All of these things comparatively to IRL aren’t the same but they’re a difference maker in the feedback you’re get as a pilot and allows you to make decisions quicker than reading an instrument.

I tried the HF8 by Next Level Racing before I learned about SimShaker For Aviators. I passed it to our AWG member Tekada who's using it for racing now. Not a bad price, but might be out of some budgets. Goes well with gaming chair or racing seats but my Boeing Flight seat doesn't match the profile enough for me.

@@AIRWARFAREGROUP I was eyeballing that one but right now my savings is more or less bookmarked for a rudder pedal upgrade from my old 10+ year old saitek pro flights... I'll have to keep an eye on reviews while I work on getting the money lined up.

All the best in your Rudder endeavor...it's one of the five things I can't fly DCS without anymore. You could try to make your own haptic transducer and use one of the many free programs I hear about.

Does Buttkicker software support more than one rumbler/vibrator/whatchamacalit? Oddly specific, but one thing I still haven't found a solution for was 'feeling' the slip in uncoordinated turns in warbirds. Constantly looking down to step on the ball/needle is annoying and even a couple hundred hours in prop planes in DCS I still don't have any real 'muscle memory' to rely on. Willing to buy my way out of my skill issue if possible

I would check with Guitammer directly but I don’t think it would. This link shows a product that supports 6 channels, one for each device. Our guy Tekada is eyeing it for his racing simulator. www.slip-angle.com/
Ironically, warbirds is where I noticed the benefits most while maneuvering in combat.

There is now a device/ set up from next level racing ( think it's them) that can now simulate under and over steer, so I don't see why slip and slide couldn't be eventually simulated too. As for all intense purposes, they're almost the same thing.

Hey Juice, are you no longer ok TacticalDCS? Also, how loud is the buttkicker. I’m thinking of getting one. I’m on a desk rolling chair with rubber wheels on top of hardwood. I can close my office door, but I’m wondering if the sound would still be heard quite loudly in other rooms. I have a jetseat and it’s not a problem, but that’s a different type of setup.

I can see a slider in the thumb, but guess that's just the intensity of vibration? With simshakers for aviators, you can set the g force to kick in at a set level. Think mine is set to 2.5 or 3g as found without limits g was always there as we are feeling 1g standing still? I use that as my que to ease or oh I need to pull as in a pickle. The intensity gets more the tighter the turn.
