- All of 2020 in 20:20 minutes. So many disasters happened in 2020, so I decided to make an educational documentary summarizing 2020 similar to RUclips rewind by showing 250+ News clips edited together after 3 weeks of research and another week of editing.
You can show it to your grandkids in the future when you tell them the story about how you survived 2020. I have tried my best to include all major events that happened in 2020, sorry if I missed any.
This video required over 3 weeks of research and another 2 weeks of editing to make. It has over 250 video clips compressed together such that it tells the story on its own. It is made to simulate how we felt watching TV in 2020 while living in the lockdown.
All rights of the video footage belongs to the respective owners, mostly TV news companies. I am showing tiny portions of their footage under Fair-Use as this is an Artistic Educational Documentary compiling Newsworthy events of 2020.

This video was actually published last week but unfortunately RUclips demonetized the video and age-restricted it to 18+ and stopped recommending it to viewers thus had to take it down within 20 hours of original release. Age restricted means it won't be embeddable in other social media and no one can watch without logging in, and even then they will have to click two buttons saying they are ok watching such content.
Then over the past week, I tried reuploading by censoring and removing various parts of the video in the Private mode several times. Every time it was getting age-restricted even after appealing for manual human review until this version you are seeing here.
All the footage used in the original video were from reputed TV news broadcasted on national television and is available in youtube itself without any restrictions so it is weird that our video was flagged as such. And none of the scenes in that video had anything requiring such restrictions. Some of our users who had watched the original version would know. And, youtube provided zero information on why it was restricted even after asking several times through various methods. They simply mail "age-restricted" and thats all. No reason provided.
My loss here is as follows -
1. I lost the peak period of Christmas to New-year, which was the right time to launch this video, thus this video will no longer become popular. And many other channels like vox made similar videos and became super viral, so those viewers won't watch same type fo video again.
2. The original video was watched by about 3800 of my most active subscribers before it was taken down within 20 hours of launch. This means, this audience won't watch it again, and thus watch-time and click-through rate of this video will be very low thus killing any chance of youtube recommending it to others. [Edit - As expected this has 3 mins average watch time while original had 7 minutes. Also, 4% CTR vs 7% on original]
3. It was posted in a lot of social media, and I had send link to some people. I can't do that again without appearing as spammy.
4. I wasted over a month of effort making this video only to be demonetized and restricted. I couldn't show the video the way I intended it to be shown.
Well, let's move on considering this as the 51st disaster of 2020.
Lebanon in 2020:
-Defaulted on paying it's debt (Eurobonds) for the first time ever
-Multiple full lockdown in March, April, May, August and November due to COVID
-Beirut Port explosion: One of the largest explosions ever recorded: ~200 deaths, 80 000 houses damaged or destroyed, 300 000 people became homeless
-Economy/GDP shrunk by 25%
-40% youth unemployment
-Lebanese no longer allowed to withdraw their foreign currency deposits (dollars), only in the local currency
-Local currency lost 80% of it's value
-Half of the population under the poverty line (less than 8$ a day). 23% under extreme poverty.
-Hyperinflation: Second highest inflation rate in the world after Venezuela, third country to experience hyperinflation in the 21st century

Aw man, it is pretty unfortunate. From your Adobe video alone, I understood that you are a quality > quantity channel like LEMMINO, and many others. You have that voice, style and technique to cover really interesting stuff and create quality content. I really hope you continue to make quality content, although all this youtube stuff might be very stressful.

Saved so I can show my future kids what we went through. The wildest part about it is that this somehow barely even scratches the surface of the actual emotional intensity of this year. This video will age so well. It makes me feel weirdly thankful that despite being part of a third world country, I live in a time where we as mankind can still make it through all the shit we went through last year. Again it's a weird feeling as I know humans aren't only good but damn we're tough!

Weather persons on TV always seem so positive about record high temperatures.
You probably don't want to hear this, but I can name a few reasons why this video shouldn't be circulated. It doesn't impart anything hopeful. There is no joyful message to this documentary. RUclips does not want to depress their audience this new year. Your video is frighteningly accurate and well researched, it can fill anyone with that existential dread that we are trying to escape from 2020.
Your video does a better job than ANY high budget 2020 recap this year. But by the same token, it perpetuates hysteria, which RUclips does not like. RUclips refuses RUclipsrs the ability to cause panic unless it's "official" information. The algorthim foils small RUclipsrs who aren't certified, ESPECIALLY for videos of this nature. Call it censorship, call it a secret agenda, whatever. A video like this is dangerous, and will be frowned upon by the algorithm.
Thanks for your point of view. This documentary was intended to document all the disasters that happened this year so that it can be used as a reference in the future when people will forget about everything except corona. Also, it would become difficult going through news. Many of these incidents were also human-caused, so we can also learn from it and become better.
And, I will make "All good things that happened in 2020" if this video becomes popular to make up for what you mentioned.

RUclips behaves very strangely...
Blocking or restricting videos without a good reason has been an issue for years and it doesn't look like it gets addressed very much.
Then youtube started to randomly show subtitles on some videos... Their fix was an extra button to disable them quickly? Why don't they just make this a permanent function to turn subtitles on or off for all videos one is watching without them getting re-enabled suddenly?
Then there is the automatic title translation into other languages... This also cannot be disabled... Why???
@SimulatedScience Automatic title translation into other languages - This was a problem with my adobe video where lot of people comment saying "This is not Spanish, then why write title in Spanish" and downvote. Now, it has reduced, I haven't come across such messages for few months, so maybe they changed or are no longer showing it to people of those audience due to poor watch-time.
@@Humtog I think in general it helps if the language is clear from the thumbnail. Those don't get translated.
The Adobe Video didn't have any extra text on the thumbnail, so the language wasn't clear from that.
I prefer english videos, even though I'm from Germany. So I do get confused by title translations (and some puns get lost in translation) but generally I'm glad if the videos aren't german.
Love the video! My only recommendation would be to add dates (even approximate ones) to the clips so viewers can get a better feel of the progression of time. What a year that was! Glad this video somehow got recommended to me in December of 2021 lol 🥳
