Would love to criticise the weird way you went with tacos de carne asada... but then again, thats the beauty of the taco: Tortilla, meat... and anything goes! ... you should have made a 5 minute salsa tho: Grill some big jalapeños, some tomatoes (all of them should taste great in California, like the avocados), skin the dark tomatoes, salt, pepper... and off you go! Mexican food starts and ends with the salsas...
My friend this is the closest thing to a good taco 👌 guacamole is perfect, the tortilla is perfect but must try the taquera yellow corn tortilla, but all that does't go with a real taco is that tabasco sauce OMG! 😩, three points: 1- where is the "salsa quemada"? 2- where is the "cebolla asada"? and yet equally important 3- where are the "frijoles charros o frijoles borrachos?" 😥 My man, greetings and a hug from the north of Mexico and continue delighting us with your recipes and adventures ✌👏☺
The hot sauce was a joke. Jack loves hot food and it was his way of being over the top. I need to go on a roadtrip around Mexico to do some cooking. Probably my favorite food on the planet.
haha I see, was a good joke! I fell! 😕 and yeaaaah! you definitely have to come to Mexico my brother and travel much of it and his great variety of cuisine "tortas, tacos, tamales, cabrito, carnitas, quesadillas, mole, etc etc" OMG I'm hungry 🙊 hopefully you have that chance someday! ☺ Greetings my friend! ✌ ☺
that's great, glad to hear 😀👌 I live very near the city of Monterrey 😀 like 2 - 2½ hours on road, I live in Nuevo Laredo Tamaulipas right on the border with US Laredo Texas. right now I'm working on our new "Asador" (Grill) since last one was already very old, it's very simple but here we'll do some great "Carne Asada" with the family! 😀👌 Hope to share some photos with you soon! ✌
DJ BBQ Oh you're good...and I'll do one better...a veniturduckenhare. A rabbit inside of a duck, inside of a chicken, inside of a turkey, inside of a deer...Deep fried...without making the turkey dry. But for real though, I'll think of something for you one day...And I'll challenge you to make it better than I do!
Tacos de carne asado MUST go with a decent fresh made "Salsa Verde"... that hot sauce is too much vinegar to bombard a succulent steak with and shadows the other fresh ingredients. Like the idea overall idea though.
It's coming. Don't you worry. I love a "Salsa Verde". I hooked up with ValleFresh to shoot an incredible Tomatillo Salsa recipe for the channel. Watch this space.
The taco of carne asada that we call it arrachera everything was good till the hot sauce REALLY ? LA VIUDA? this guy just fucked up the taco !! you should go with jalapeño and green tomato on the grill once its all brown into the blender and thats it do go and put LA VIUDA hot sauce.
the marinade has a bit of heat. And you can always add more chilli to that if you require more heat. Jack just likes his food hot. He keeps a jar of jalapenos in the fridge so he can spice up all his food.
Those seem to be tortillas, not tacos. Tacos are, to my knowledge, fried tortillas, making them crispy. Am I, like, TOTALLY rad-mad-off-the-hook wrong about that..?
Emmanuel Rayas Puro Malverde religion haha. Yo soy del valle del San Joaquin en centro de California y esta parte nosotro mexicanos los encanta los tacos con repollo, cliantro y cebolla.
Looks like a great time! Great food too!!!
Now this is a real taco! Radtastic!

I like the fact that you guys did not add onions or tomatoes to the guacamole,. You can add salsa afterwards no need to put it in the guac.
Woohoo CALIFORNIA
you need eat that "carne" with "tortilla de harina", taste better, Saludos DJ.
PD: awesome vídeos men jaja 🤣
Damn nice guacamoleeeee!
Being from the north part of Mexico, I really think carne asada tacos are better in flour tortillas than in corn tortillas.
Watching this when super hungry is not a good idea
doesn't adding salt to the marinade toughen the steak?
Do you think you could ship one of those tacos to Sweden?
Just use surströmming. :)

Can't be that good of a recipe if he needs to smother it with hot sauce,
Jack likes hot sauce.
DJ BBQ
I know that I sound like an ass, but i am sure even you, can see where i am coming from,
There isnt much heat from the basic ingredients used, so im guessing that the hot sauce is only for the heat that he personally prefers?

Tacos are normally soft.....and made of corn. When they are fried, they are tostados.
.
DJ BBQ So...what are tortillas then..?
*****
larger than tacos. I also associate tortillas with being made of flour
DJ BBQ oh, okay. Well, you learn every day :) thx
This is American tacos, no way close to the Mexican tacos.
Well, the thumbnail does have the american flag on it :/
Tu tas loco guey, si tu sabes in realidad no es verdadero. Estos gueros nuncan van a ser comido mexicana autentico.
Tambien salsa roja y repollo.
Emmanuel Rayas Puro Malverde religion haha.
Your knife skills are a bit... odd.
Crap? Yeah, I know. Only cut myself a couple times in 46 years though. I'm workin on em....kinda.
