Thanks for watching!
cool:)
Great content. I'll check through your library, but whats the method to remove a peened tang?
@@Ryan-ob6gp much more difficult, you basically have to re-heat the peen and get it soft enough to remove the pommel. It's easier to just re-wrap the grip with the pommel still peened, unless you really want to remove the grip and replace it. Even then on keyed tangs it's more simple to remove the grip with the peen intact and sandwich method the new grip as the Peened Pommel will stay in place.

Hey at least you paid attention for 3 minutes lol!
@@DynamoSwordChannel great video! :)
@@flowkes2707 Thanks, hopefully it helped!
Have you removed a peened pommel?
I found a sword in the trash and it was thrashed, but the blade is straight and no nicks
Interesting, display type sword or is it a functional model?
@@DynamoSwordChannel display for sure. Claims to be 440 but there's no way
Also it's only half tang
@@christopherlanger3159 well that's sucks, but hey who finds a sword in the trash right? Kinda a cool find beats dirty diapers lol.
That tang looks terrible. Looks like a rat tail to me with the screw end welded onto the tang.
@@sgregg5257 nah, tang is 3/4" wide and 1/4" thick. No welds, the tang end is roded then threaded at the end. Never had a threaded Windlass fail on me and I have quite a few. Watch the video and you'll see, I give a full view of the tang from all angles.
