this is free master class man i swear
A complete steaalllll, thankyou so much man !
This really blows my mind. You did all this without touching an acoustic, electric, or even an electronic instrument and it sounds very organic. You are just a dude sitting in front of a desk clicking little bars. Truly inspiring.
That's what bothers me about musical purists. Those kind of people who say "oh you make all your music just using your PC without any instruments? Pff yeah that doesn't take talent at all, go pick up guitar/bass/drums/etc or you ain't no musician" or so. I think this guy proves that it just takes as much knowledge to produce music on a software as it does on a physical instrument.
@@AlexAnder-ri8ns I agree, not to mention Kevin Parker himself uses Ableton and produces everything within it himself! Sometimes he'll track some instruments, but sometimes he'll just use VSTs.
So cool, nobody never recreates Tame Impala beacause of the complexity of his production and sound desing, thank you so much :)
I thought the sound design was actually pretty simple in this. Most of the video was about mixing
@@DarkPedobear yeah maybe in this one is not that complex but in general the tame impala sound is very unique
That's not a big deal.
J Navarro in terms of mixing its pretty hard
J Navarro i should clarify mostly the drums
The reproduction of this is not only incredible, it's having the listening skills to hear what is going on, to then know how to reproduce this so faithfully, well done, subscribed!
My pleasure. Glad it was helpful
wow. the way you can analyze this guy who's probably strictly analog and recreate it is mind blowing. beautiful job-
Have to admit this was a tricky one
Tame Impala is DEFINITELY not strictly analog. He uses analog synths and guitars.
But he records everything into Ableton and does the mixing and effects in it.
@@BeatAcademy i'm sure a lot of people would love to see more Tame Impala. Currents has a lot of great tracks with some pretty complex hi-fi production. Hopefully we can get The Less I Know The Better or Let It Happen! Appreciate you man, I like a lot of others is going through a tough time right now and this has really helped. Hope you're staying safe!
wow. the way you reply to comments of people with absolutely no knowledge of what they're talking about it's mind blowing. beautiful job.
that drum loop flip was absolutely insane, cannot believe this is free
At the beginning I thought it was the real voice track of Kevin Parker. You're incredible, man. Superb work as always!
Thanks. This was a tricky one but glad it came together to serve you Guys
I don’t tend to take the time to comment, but props to you, dude. The concise nature of your videos makes them so streamlined while also engaging and informative. I love what you do.
I appreciate that!
I want to understand how to recreate some of the Kid A production !
Kevin's brain just amazes me. How he comes up with his sounds blows my mind. It's so unique. I really enjoyed watching this. Thanks!
THANK YOU! These videos are life savers. I really appreciate you taking the time to make them and for being such a good explainer, I never feel lost & im always learning something new, bless you 💜
pls do some of fka twigs, her music is so well produced, i'd like to see you recreating a song of hers:^)
Julian earle's done that. Beat academy is pop oriented
one word - Arca -
especially the ones produced by Sonny Moore
great drum sounds
By far one of the best production youtube channels i have found. Thx for this content!
Hey I just wanted to say thank you. I am going through a lot right know and these videos mean a lot. Please keep it up
Sorry about the rough patch you are going through right now. Be encouraged you can get through this just take it one day at a time. Today’s trouble are sufficient for today. Happy to be of service and help you move along
your content always opens my mind on something, thanks for what u are doing for free
This was insane. I love Tame Impala as an inspiration. I don't have a band, and things seems to get done faster if I just do them myself.
Bjørn Brynemo i feel that on a spiritual level lol
Love that used Addictive Drums for this, so hard to find any tutorials that utilize it. Really dig what you did with routing outputs, then utilizing the sample and quantizing to triplets. Learned a lot about getting organic drums to sound better in the mix. A video on utilizing some of the more advanced functions in AD would be great too, I've never been able to find a good one.
I liked this tutorial. I've used ableton for 8 years and videos on youtube like this are the only reason I know how to use ableton today. I still learn from videos like this and they still give me ideas to try, in this video it gave me some really good ideas for drums. Good video, although for a beginners I suggest that you focus a little bit more on why you are doing certain things. For some things it is obvious because they can hear it, like a filter on a synth. But for other things, like why you are using a dynamic eq on specific frequencies of the vocal, it would really help beginners with an untrained ear if you explained a bit more why you are making those changes.
Literally the most insightful tutorials on the platform. 🐐🐐🐐
I think you forgot to put a phaser on the master track but other than that great video
*sarcasm*
Lol thanks for the feedback
imdead
Its the Classic Phaser preset on the Waves Metaflanger or Roland SBF Flanger depending on the album you want.
Wow, this is spot on dude 🙂 its also worth to mention that there are 2 basses in this song - guitar and sub bass which can be heard in chorus and pre chorus.
More tame!!
The way the vocals were crafted was so genius
Honestly, it's so easy to screw up a tame Impala recreation/cover but holy shit. It sounds just like the real deal. This is definitely my favorite Tame Impala tutorial
The amount of knowledge that you possess is super inspiring!
just signed up for my first month of beat academy!! excited for the growth that is coming my way! going to be a great year
I need it is. Great job and excited for ya!
With a program as complex as Live it's essential to absorb a typical workflow process to get going and this tutorial conveys that really well.
ILL!! This one is massive! Fans have been trying to replicate Kevin Parker sounds for years! You nailed it! 👏🏼 I just miss the clap tho!
You give too much secrets away! 😂
snare and toms are pretty off tbh i can probably get it a little closer, kick and bass sound pretty similar tho ill give him that, synth is kinda off to tho :(
Cherrybum Man synth has a lot of nuances that are probably done out of the box. He definitely nailed the timbre of everything tho!
A whole lotta gold in here. I think it's time for me to finally get RC-20, I don't think I've seen a tutorial without it in months.
Another ill Factor video where everything seems simple enough, but yet somehow widely beyond my capabilities. Love it!
I'm absolutely astonished by how easy you make all of this seem. Thank you for this great tutorial !
Glad it was helpful!
Man, you nailed it!
You're extremely talented. Thank you so much for this.
These videos are fantastic for a beginner. Thank you so much!
This was a great tutorial! Please do more on vocal processing!!!!
Dude, in a sea of crappy tutorials by people who only learned to make music a month ago and who just regurgitate other ideas they saw elsewhere, your channel really stands alone with the way it's presented and the quality of information. Thank you!
this made me instantly subscribe. i’m relatively new to producing and seeing how you reproduce one of my favorite musicians music is so inspiring!!
This is amazing. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make a how to produce Radiohead video. Especially a Kid A like sound. The dry vocals and clean audio, hearing everything in the production. I need to see it done. Morning Bell would be great pick. The ending to Present Tense would also be great to explore. When the real drums kick in.
RedVIII Yes pls!
omg PLEASE!! these videos are so so so good btw thank youu
this is by far the most accurate Tame Impala remake, it really feels like Kevin's drums
Dude, you’re an amazing teacher! The quality of your channel is so high! Thank you for everything.
Man, you're really helping me throughout this journey of producing. Thank you so much!!
As I am just starting with the whole world of music making, I can't thank you enough for this content. This is just soooo amazing and I learn a lot in every video. I really appreciate you taking the time and teaching others. Thank you!
You're very welcome!
I’ve learned so much on this video. A lot of things just clicked. I can’t thank you enough!
YO it sounds like you understood it all. My pad, the wavetable thing dosent sound like his. Could you possibly know why? it sound like a normal pad
Recreating those drums was exceptional work. Wow.
Much appreciated!

I appreciate that! And happy to be of service
The vocals are DOPE!!!, Thanks so much for doing this man!!!
Glad you like them!
Thanks a lot bro, made how to produce like flylo and fkj too please 🙏
Quality of teaching is so high. I need to better understand the sample breakbeat to support your drums bit but I'll keep watching and checking other videos.
This is awesome! I would love to see something by Jungle as well, as I always found their songs well produced, really funky, beautiful sounds etc. Plus Jungle is just great
If you find anything let me know pls I love their sound too
Would definitely love to see some Lady Gaga! Been wondering what your take on Stupid Love would sound like.

Wow! The recreation of the drum programming was impressive enough on its own. Stellar job.
what the actual fuck dude. You are insane, i cant imagine how much hard work this takes to plan
wow!
Fantastic tutorial to follow along (I am using Reason).. and a big thank you for introducing me to Tame Impala!
If you could breakdown Hardest to love by The Weeknd, this song is so well produced
Really useful video, it's great to see how close you can get to the original sound with just insight and stock plugins, very inspiring. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to future videos.
Glad it was helpful!
What a beauty! Super tutorial of this amazing tune
Unbelievable. Sounds VERY close to the original. Thanks for sharing this.

Very good, nice explanation and beautiful result!
This the best tutorial I've ever watched. You hands down nailed that sound. I learned so much and can't wait to get started. Thank you!

I was just looking for this!! Thank you very much. Good vibes from Peru!!!

This is just insane, such a masterclass! Please make some more videos focused on indie bands! (foster the people, the black keys, cage the elephant, the 1975)
you know this tutorial is legit when he spends 2/3 of the video on the drums, Kevin would b proud

Could you please export your sessions in a way that the people who doesn't have ableton 10.1.5 could use them? that would be really helpful!!
Great content as always. Can you make a video on Reggaeton by J Balvin?
I'd love to see some experimental PC Music remakes like SOPHIE or something on FM synthesis
