I love how we are trying to portray meta players as the toxic people and the waifu enjoyers as the cool guys, when both sides can be equally toxic. In fact I'd argue most of the weird shit we see in this community are coming from the waifu enjoyers that act like their favorite character are real people, and gets overly heated whenever you say a minor thing about them.
Sadly tectone is a hypocrit and tells people how to play his way instead of playing for fun.
Because meta cant be fun am I right?

Nah, both are equally weird. So many times I see someone use a mid tier character and someone piping up about how you shouldn't use that character because it isn't meta.
Dehya actually *is* good for underwater combat, but mostly because of her healing passive that still triggers underwater. It's also why she can use the ocean hued clam to passively deal damage in "AFK Deyha" and why she can't die from frostbite on Dragonspine
It's the stupidest thing ever, but her heal is like the most hilarious ability in the game

The point is if Genshin combat was actually that hard then all these facts about Dehya being best underwater would be of actual use to everybody but Genshin don't want to give players anxiety yet they make us lose back to back 50-50s for fun
the amount of people i've seen bitching, crying and quitting cuz of dragonspines frostbite mechanic alone suggests otherwise.
Besides, its not really about solving problems as much as it is about doing something different than press E do X dmg.
I mean as an example situation, her E gives interrupt resist but you still take dmg in it so while it seems like a major downgrade to a shield that sucks all the damage up, there will be people out there who dont wanna be cheap and cheese with a shield but instead enjoy a challenge where their health bar is still actually relevant

The Genshin team releasing Dehya as the worst character in the game would be like if the Star Rail team released Kafka as the worst character in the game. They were both incredibly hyped mommies, but one Hoyo team understood that people want to be able to actually use theirs.

Personally however I don't think the Dehya hype was quite on the same level as Kafka hype, Dehya was more like Silver Wolf or Blade in terms of hype

The waifu over meta crowd would argue that you can still play Dehya. She's still not good, but that feeling of self-sabotage are kind of a personal problem and not really a Dehya problem

I found many ways to enjoy the combat in genshin and here are some of them
1. Didn't pull for any 5 star cons
2. Didn't bother with the weapon banner
3. Created multiple teams using different characters and gave said characters different builds to give them different rules(sometimes cursed builds or meme builds because I have a lot of artifacts and some of them becomes surprisingly good)
4. Pulled for the characters with most fun gameplay (idgf about waifus/husbandos bullshit)
5. I do the abyss multiple times to test the teams and builds I created to see how good or bad they are
After doing all this along with the events and exploration I found the game empty just at the near end of any patch, the only downside is that I don't get rewarded after the first clear but at least I did have fun which what it is most important
Play however we want. Yeah that's exactly how it supposed to be. META is there for a reason.While i dont think u really necessary need to play meta to beat the game content , i do think tht META really helps u clear the content easier thn u would expect it to be. The question and the problem is whether u are forced to play META or not.I think you are absolutely not forced to do so bcs in the end you play the game to have fun. If u are not having fun playing META , do urself a favor and build ur favorite character to be at least decent. You just require to understand the game mechanics and build a good team around ur fav character to beat the content in the game. Enjoy the story and all guys it's not always about the combat/fighting content u know there's tons of other things to enjoy in genshin thn just the combat.
People told me I'd regret pulling for Cyno and Wanderer. Well, I'm still waiting for that immense regret, because this far I've had tons of fun playing both, abyss included. I also got Alhaitham on his rerun, but despite him shredding shit when needed, I still prefer using Cyno or Wanderer. Fuck meta.
How are Cyno and Wanderer not considered meta? You mean both of them in the same team or as main dps?
Both of them are good characters and pretty enjoyable if you use them properly
@@alien_liwil I've been constantly told that anyone (read Keqing, Alhaitham, Nahida etc) would've been better for hyperbloom/aggravate than Cyno, that he's only better than Dehya from all 5 stars.
Also, everyone's been telling me Wanderer's mid cause "he's nowhere as good as Hu Tao" yadda yadda. Think they're just salty I dislike characters like her or Childe lol.
same I got wanderer as my main since forever and never once regret it, I wasn't even one of the wanderer fans waiting for him to release, I just got him and been maining him forever. Meanwhile my nahida is still level 10

The reason I got into theorycrafting is because I wanted to find out what the best teams were for my favorite characters, now I do it to inform others

I have a comp where it consists of Cyno, Yelan, Sayu, and Kuki.
Cyno's and Yelan's bursts are a fun combo I like together (also works nicely with Xiangling's burst), and also Yelan's skill combined with Sayu's skill to cover more ground quickly, and Kuki to act as battery for Cyno and healing as well.
It's not meta, but it sure is fun to use and I like going to locations fast.
I hope that you don't use that team on the abyss, one thing is getting crazy about mate and other is just playing without brain, it's not the same.
The fact this team is like, one unit away from being a top meta team lmao.

I recently got Yelan C1, now I can go fast even longer 😂
Yelan skill -> Sayu skill -> Yelan Skill -> Sayu skill
The 2nd charge on Yelan's skill will give almost enough time for Sayu's skill to finish its cool down.
I haven't tested it yet, just my theory tho.
i unironiclly bin enjoying friendship farming chars because it asks me to use a char i dont use and build a team around them and just doing what ever content is infront of me. i build chars, expreince new play styles, sometimes even find out the play style actually works better in certain abyss rotations because i just wanted to fuck around with the roaster.

They just up the number. It doesn't change anything in terms of gameplay. You play char until you can't. and then you drop them, play another char, and then maybe bring that old char out again when you can bring them out again.
Such is the fate of most gacha games. Or well... most games that sell continuity (aka constant updates).
ps.: in that sense is why Genshin is actually insane. It challenged the meta in gacha gaming, and the meta in games with constant content update, in general. But that ideal is also the reason why it's hard for people to understand it.

Definitely can vouch for that with tectoine saying use your favorite character. Cause...and this my bad on my end as I keep forgetting Elemental reaction exists in this game, but also very annoying on figuring out what will trigger them and such. But yeah anyway back to point lol. But can definitely vouch that statement completely as the team I have, can do these locals a-okay and dealing maazing damage even without elemental reactions.
Then when I did wanted tot est out my elemental reaction damage to the No name Samurai. Which is Electro and Cryo between KEqing and Ganyu C0. If I use Ganyu on Electro reaction, her damage out put goes from 9-14k damagem all the way up to 30 and almost 50k damage. While for Keqing doing Cryo reaction with Electro, I can keep a constant 900-1.2k damage for physical and electro damage- while for Reaction to Cry, they then jump up to 25-30k damage with elemental reaction with Electro to Cryo. So yeah- you do not need meta to enjoy the game.
My best couple for fun and daily quests is Sayu and XinYan, cast shield and start spinning. XinYan also buffs my physical Jean, passive speed buff, 2 anemos, more speed buffs. Amber, second pyro, more damage, ranged attacks, enemy control, Q buff.
1:20 sorry but its exactly that. In this abyss which is one of the easier ones teccy got his ass beat with his c6 r5 stuff (tbf he played terrible teams). Tectone barely got through with c6 stuff on a second retry when he fixed his team. You can still play for fun and not meta but running terrible teams that arent c6 is gonna be difficult. And when tectone did clear abyss f2p or blindfolded was ages ago when abyss was easy. Abyss used to have ruin guards as their main challenge, now ruin guards are walking energy particles

genshin is the first game ive ever played that made me feel like i have to use meta to keep up
I watched this video it was a good one I've done meta teams and yes meta is fun in a way but I have more fun just hitting stuff with my caveman brain
My Meta = Raise Chara, get artifacts(good or bad substats doesnt matter, just the main stats i need), slap any weapon i have, build the team, enjoy the game.
Using meta doesn’t mean you miss out on fav characters. Considering xiangling sucrose bennett xingqiu fischl yao Yao beidou dendro traveler etc are all like most of the meta themselves. And even then, I pull alhaitham and yelan and nahida and now I have the most broken f2p teams in the universe but they’re also the most fun so idc

It's not that she has high def. Apparently Dehya is great in both Dragonspine and underwater, because of her auto-regen passive. Which become hilariously damaging if you give her the hue clam.

@@shadowsage2636Eula's meta placement is much worse than Jing Yuan. Physical as an "element" is dogshit (way worse than Erudition. They still clear around the same cycles or worse by one compared to other paths). The fact that you said that "she is still useful" implies that you think Jing Yuan is useless, which is VERY FAR from it.
Eula's best team is literally hyperbloom, just don't switch to her. That's how bad physical is. It's like using Jing Yuan as an SP generator in a DoT team (no sane individual does this).

I agree i mostly play characters I like/ gameplay I like
National team gets a bit boring after using it in almost every abyss for months. We need more units that synergize better with other playstyles, preferably 4-stars that don't suck. I often try to 36 star abyss without using national variants unless we get some nonsense like 3.7 abyss. I might start using it again if I get Childe though. I also thought Fischl was overrated for a while until I learned her burst can be canceled (that shit needs s or lots of dr).

I only roll for character because of Seiyuu, and how good of a unit they are, and roll for more Qiqi constellations because I main her over any other character ever.

I have a second account where i only get characters to play teams not on my main and I love my eula she is why i made it tbh. I knew i would never use her on my main. I have too many cracked units
Yeah the meta is boring, I enjoy cooking the wackiest teams, like physical dps alloy with super conduct and shatter. People may tell me to get out of the kitchen, but at the end of the day I'm playing the game in a way I enjoy.

If building a character didn't take forever I would actually keep playing genshin. I'm so far behind it doesn't even feel worth trying to play again even if I wanted to. Maybe I could make a new account, but then I'll just eventually run into the same problem with materials and xp anyways. I wish both genshin and star rail would make it easier to at least level up because as is, it takes way too long to level anyone, much less the talents/traces and gearing them properly.
Genshin needs auto skip tickets or button for artifacts. At the same time hsr community sometime act like hoyoverse invented the auto feature. Most gacha games have this feature it’s just bad that genshin doesnt.
To be honest i pull for meta just because it lets me clear the content without farming that much for artifacts

I wan a balance of both meta and waifu. I want my waifu but also at the same time able to clear content. I would rather die than using meta characters that I don't like to clear content. E.g xiangling, ganyu etc. My current exploration team which I most used is yae miko, Yelan, alhaitham and kazuha because those 4 are my fav chars and also they can be meta too

meta = most efficient tactics available
in genshin meta comes as a bunch of team variants, with each abyss being the determiner for what team is the meta
so meta = having fun isn't true at all
but i do think that meta teams are incredibly fun when they fit their criteria for that abyss
i think dendro fixed the game because like it makes new teams to be meta
if you're curious how many teams are actually good just look up random genshin abyss clears or just some tc channels with like 5k subs or sum shit

Nah honestly, I’m not a Hoyo simp but Genshin is 100% a masterpiece… for a free, live service game. I personally don’t think it’s fair to compare a game like Genshin to a game like Hollow Knight since one is polished to the tee and launched to not have updates (except they gave us free DLC because Team Cherry are the GOATs, please give us Silksong soon) and one is launched to constantly be updated and make money off in-game purchases. Sure, there are things that can be improved in Genshin, but that’s by design. I hate that the events are all the same, that the Spiral Abyss doesn’t get updates, that there’s honestly not more skins in the game because I want more skins for the characters I like, etc. But I have to say, every time there’s a new Archon Quest and especially with the underwater exploration in Fontaine now, I am absolutely in love with it. One of my favorite games growing up was Blue Ocean, or something along those lines, for the Wii. Now I get to play that game in a game I already play for free while opening chests and doing quests. Very cool, Hoyo, thanks for giving us this.
Honestly, for me, the best way to fix Spiral Abyss isn’t to add more floors or anything. It’s to allow more customized settings, like setting your characters to a certain level, deactivating Constellations, etc. It wouldn’t give any rewards, just make it more interesting for people who want to grind Genshin 24/7 for some reason.
I’d also just say, find another hobby besides playing a game you’ve already beat. Why do people feel a need to play Genshin so much when you’ve cleared what’s available? Just don’t play it anymore until a new cool area comes out. It ain’t that hard, people.

Meta is not a playstyle, It's a tool. For example let's say your favorite character is idk albedo. He isn't a top tier he's decent but if you want to make him strong because he's your favorite character theorycrafters can help you with what weapons are the best,artifacts,team synergy. You can still play what you want

I guess I have to say I'm a mega player bc I have and enjoy those units... Challenge birds me and yeah I can't beat the abyss. But brax said it, I just don't make sense of those game mechanics. It's it's not explained in game, my brain won't register it. My 235 ER emblem xiangling with the catch, Bennett and raiden wont get her burst back in one round. I tried funneling. Didn't work. Do I care? Not really. Would I prefer it to not work like it should? Yep. But those last 3 stars don't matter. I'm building lynette. I want Navia bc I find her an amazing character. Not to mention Furina, Neu, Wrio, Clorinde, the list goes on... Never happened in genshin before that I enjoy so many personally. So meta can wait.

After skipping a character I truly wanted just to lose a 50/50 on a "Meta" character I didn't even like in the first place, I've decided that I will pull whatever I want and don't play or pull characters I don't want even if they are meta.
Honestly both sides are toxic to me so your enjoyment comes first and unlike lunatics who dislike the game but are still playing for some reason I think doing what you enjoy is what matters

Before I stopped I actively dislike Bennett and Yorimiya as characters so never bothered with their gameplay either. Just play how you want to play is all you need. The only thing I wish they had was a rotating dungeon like Abyss with mono elemental teams just to mess around with. Having every week/month be a different element is always fun in gacha games for me, being locked into only using certain types shows what units you have and how well you you can use them.

How do I play Xinyan?
You can either play her as a Physical DPS or as a Shield Support (Make sure she has a lot of Defense if you want to play her as a Shield Support)
It still hurts that they did Faruza like that , i like her so much and yet her play style is just meh to say the least with c6 its just not possible to play her unless of course you waste all your resin on her
