- Captain Sergi Roberto bid farewell to Barcelona in a special farewell event organized by the club and attended by his close family, teammates and other club legends like Carles Puyol, Gerard Pique and Xavi on Tuesday after almost 20 trophy laden years at the club.
But there is also an offer from Premier League side Everton for the services of Brazilian forward Vitor Roque who has continued to be linked with a move away from the club less than a year after joining from Brazilian side Atletico Paranaense.
However, Barça also played their final preseason friendly game being the annual Joan GAMPER Trophy match earlier in the week on Monday against French side AS Monaco. It was an underwhelming performance from the Blaugrana who were comfortably beaten 3-0 in their own backyard just 5 days before their first La Liga game of the Hansi Flick era away at Valencia on Saturday.
Barça have also pursued Nico Williams exclusively this summer but it seems he’s now destined to stay at Athletic Club as he was confirmed as the club’s new no. 10 on Monday, inheriting the jersey from Iker Munian. This could lead Barça into looking for alternative options for the left wing and some names like Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman have all been mooted as options.
