News4JAGs: City, Jaguars, unveil $1.4 billion plan for Stadium of the Future, who will pay for it

The Jaguars and the City of Jacksonville took the wraps off the most expensive investment in Jacksonville history on Tuesday, a 50-50 cost split on the $1.25 billion “Stadium of the Future” project that won’t include new taxes and will keep the team in town for the next generation. Jamal St. Cyr and Justin Barney look at the framework and where the team could play during renovation. If a deal is signed, the city will also pay $150 million in maintenance and upkeep, bringing Jacksonville's total to $775 million in tax dollars to renovate EverBank Stadium.

I like the Gainesville move. Because you have a big college football following there. Will help out sales with those kids to be able to have football 2 days in a row. No knock on UCF but Gator fans will help our atmosphere better....plus its only an hour or so from Jax compared to 2.5hrs. Its the best option.

@@DaDon_krazy im a 33 year old man. I personally don’t like football. I think it’s a little gay bunch of guys in spandex getting paid a lot of money to throw a football around. The only people this brings wealth too, is Chaka Khan and football players nobody else benefits.
