I love watching your videos. My mind seems to run down the same streets as yours. It's great to see you thinking through the process. You are so creative and so clear with your explanations. Thank you.
You have a new video, a new garment, probably new subscribers, and taught us all something we would not have seen anywhere else. It's a win win win and a win! Besides looking good on you which is a bonus.
Catherine, You are such a joy to watch as your creativity is unleashed. There's not a day that goes by without watching at least one or more of your tutorials. I always learn so much USEABLE information. And it leaves me feeling light hearted as I jump into my own projects ... 💃
Thank you so much, I’m loving seeing you work through the challenges and getting to a solution! I’ve 2 sweaters I’m planning to upcycle into cardigans and I’m feeling more confident about it now. Very pretty 🤩
I never would have thought a sweater could be upcycled (other than unraveling it for the thread). It did end up very cute, although I also liked some of the earlier versions, too. Thank you for giving me some ideas to try out, and some confidence, too.
Another success! How many times have someone brought home a garment, then notice the size is for UK or France (or insert another country than what is needed). The trials and re-trys are part of the process, and you have such a great attitude!!!
I love your work. From one upcycler to another, you always to a phenomenal job. Turning the sweater upside down was a good call. I think you would be fun to hang out with.😊
My compliments on how you persevere for a perfect end result. My only suggestion is that a vertical gather at the centre front would create a v-shape neckline without cutting into the finished edge. Possibly just hand-stitched with the leftover yarn.
This top ended up looking wonderful, well done for persevering when it wasn't what you wanted. It was great to watch what can be done and see your bravery on tackling knits!
I panicked when you took the rib off the neck, then wondered about the rib cuffs as the neck was no longer there to match, so was relieved you took the sleeve cuffs off, the ribbon round the waist was a brilliant touch, and the ultimate result, gorgeous!
This was interesting as I am a machine knitter, so many machine knitters are scared of cutting knitwear, it’s no big deal if you have a serger and you think outside the box. Well done, it’s a lovely flip 😃
Cute! So,satisfying when you find that stitch and pull and BAM, it works and the unraveling is magical! The bows are darling and looks great. I find having so many bits and pieces saved from refashioning and keeping things makes it easier to work through a solution when you don’t like how a project is working. Just dive into your stash and see what you have that can work better! Another awesome save! ☺️
Darling! You amaze and inspire me. I was able to dismantle a sweet fluffy skirt that was 3 sizes too big and make it work for me. You gave me the courage! I bought it for $1 at a thrift store. It was so pretty, but ginormous. Now I love it.
What an amazing transformation... from blah to beautiful ❤️. Seeing the finished product and watching you take it step by step and working out each challenge on the way was so inspiring 👏👍. Thank you so much for doing this and sharing it. Much appreciated ❣️
really cute, and was fun seeing the trial and error process. this is what happens in my upcycling of clothes, a spirit of flexible creativity is what yields the final product, which may be totally different from what I originally intended. You have a great channel!
One way to enlarge a sweater is while at the thrift store, look for a second sweater of the same color and similar weight and make that 3-inch strip out of the 2nd sweater. Lots of highend stores are doing this. You could also make the body if the sweater a solid knit and the 3-inch expander piece a lacy or textured piece for interest. 💖🌞🌵😷
I love it, so pretty now. I have a knit dress of my mother's which is much too big on top with a wide neckline. My sewing machine is a 1954 singer, not sewing properly. This project makes me want to get it tuned up and I have an idea how to make the dress fit me. Thank you very much!
Awww, it turned out so adorable! You are such a delight to watch. Love your positivity and easy-going-ness (that should be a word). Can't wait to see what you'll refashion next. 😍
I love your videos. You inspired me to alter a dress that I loved but that fit "funny" in much the same way that you altered this sweater by adding panels on the side. Now I have a dress that I love to wear instead of one that collects dust in the back of the closet! Thanks so much. (And I love your accent)
I haven't been sewing for an awful long time, just about 45 yrs off and on. But out of all the sewist I've watched you are the easiest to understand. You explain and show how to the simplest I've ever seen. I'm so glad I stumbled upon your site and I will be watching you more often. Thank you for giving your knowledge and expertise to the world with grace and smiles.
This looks so nice. Definitely much better than the original. Just cutting the knit sorta gave me kittens. I'm watching and fussing about stay stitches. This sort of thing isn't for the weak of heart! I would have stay stitched everywhere before cutting and honestly probably for annoyed with it!! I could see this sitting in the corner till I figured it out, was less annoyed with it or have up. Congratulations on not giving up!
I love your revised sweater. I don't like turtle necks or cowls. You did a fantastic job. The black ribbon is perfect. Thank you for sharing. God bless.
I will never look at cowl necks the same again!
I like the way you explain your self to all youtuper especially when you make the little bags thank you Catherine, I ❤ love sawing.
I love the final result. Perseverance is definitely the name of the game. It's gorgeous.
Brave and gorgeous. Thank you I really enjoyed your struggle and triumph.
Great job! I love not being intimidated by making re-makes! Just think a bit and DO IT! hOw we learn.
What a beautiful transformation. I love the delicate look and the bows are a beautiful dainty addition 😍
I love watching your videos. My mind seems to run down the same streets as yours. It's great to see you thinking through the process. You are so creative and so clear with your explanations. Thank you.
Plz come back soon love it will try to make a sweater in to a blouse thank u 🙏 ❤
So glad you didn't give up. I may have! Love the final results. 🙂
I love it. Nice job that really is cute. So glad you got rid of that neckline ❤️
What a great lesson on sticking with something if your first idea doesn’t work out. I love how it ended up!
💕💕💕so beautiful on a beautiful lady, love your enthusiasm💕💕💕
Wow the black ribbon made such a big difference, amazing!
Love this transformation
The sweater went from ho-hum to stylish……it is definitely so much more flattering on you! I do like hearing your thought process too--it’s helpful…😉
Looks like I am not the only one who keeps matches and a candle in with my sewing supplies 🙂
You have a new video, a new garment, probably new subscribers, and taught us all something we would not have seen anywhere else. It's a win win win and a win! Besides looking good on you which is a bonus.

Such a lovely comment! Thank you, Susan!
I so appreciate your in-the-moment creative decision changes. It’s real.
I love the neckline so much better without the collar, and you using the black ribbon to accent just gave it that special touch. 100 pre cent better.
Thank you so much, I’m loving seeing you work through the challenges and getting to a solution! I’ve 2 sweaters I’m planning to upcycle into cardigans and I’m feeling more confident about it now. Very pretty 🤩
What a great video. You gave us such good information. I am now a subscriber
I really love the plot twists in your tutorial and I love the final look!
I never would have thought a sweater could be upcycled (other than unraveling it for the thread). It did end up very cute, although I also liked some of the earlier versions, too. Thank you for giving me some ideas to try out, and some confidence, too.
I love the finished redo!! The black ribbon around the waist is very flattering on you.
Thank you for sharing the whole journey and for not giving up until you were happy with the project. I honestly liked all the iterations :)
Another success! How many times have someone brought home a garment, then notice the size is for UK or France (or insert another country than what is needed). The trials and re-trys are part of the process, and you have such a great attitude!!!
Catherine, the sweater came out so adorably elegant! From meh to MARVELOUS!!!😍💕😍💕
You're an inspiration and I feel so much better that I talk all through my projects and answer myself as well !!
very nice.. I'm cutting up a few sweaters this year.
Oh my goodness so adorable!
I love your work. From one upcycler to another, you always to a phenomenal job. Turning the sweater upside down was a good call. I think you would be fun to hang out with.😊
Wow. Amazing difference. Result is so pretty.
Your the miracle worker with necklines!
Love your ideas!
Bonnie Ohio 😊
What I love about you that you change your mind as you go on just the way we do it, sometimes and idea looks great but some time not
Love it!! You're so inspirational and I love the upcycling journey you take us on each time! Thank you! ❤
My compliments on how you persevere for a perfect end result. My only suggestion is that a vertical gather at the centre front would create a v-shape neckline without cutting into the finished edge. Possibly just hand-stitched with the leftover yarn.
What started off as a kind of clunky thrift find is now delicate and feminine! Brilliant!!
This is adorable! I loved seeing how you adapted it as you worked. Xox, Bonnie
Thank you! Cheers!
haha that was fun to watch. It does look adorable on you. well done
oh my goodness! the end product is sooo cute! Black and Gray really do belong together 🖤
Love it.Way to think outside the box's so creative!

Oh, I love it AND I did enjoy the process very much!
Such a magnificent job! You really are a true designer in spirit.
♥️
I love it! So adorable! And thank you for showing us all your trials and tribulations.
✨Clever and creative! Thanks for sharing your work.🎉
The final outcome is beautiful! Well done. I love watching you figure out the alternatives when something doesn't work!!
Very cute! The only thing I’d change for myself is the colour of the ribbon - I liked the matching grey.
This top ended up looking wonderful, well done for persevering when it wasn't what you wanted. It was great to watch what can be done and see your bravery on tackling knits!
Love your darling redesign! You look so pretty wearing a beautifully feminine look!
I so enjoy your creative and courageous process!💖
Wow! It ended up so pretty and delicate. I love listening to you think out loud. You are such a thoughtful problem solver. Thank you!
I panicked when you took the rib off the neck, then wondered about the rib cuffs as the neck was no longer there to match, so was relieved you took the sleeve cuffs off, the ribbon round the waist was a brilliant touch, and the ultimate result, gorgeous!
Love, love, love this cute sweater upcycle. Thanks for this video and for not giving up!😊
I love the neckline with the ribbon before the sleeve changes but the black on the sleeves made up for it.
This was interesting as I am a machine knitter, so many machine knitters are scared of cutting knitwear, it’s no big deal if you have a serger and you think outside the box. Well done, it’s a lovely flip 😃
Thanks so much! I'm glad to hear from a machine knitter that you are also comfortable with cutting knits. To me, It's fabric like any other!
Thanks! I’m feeling a little braver to cut off my Pendleton wool knit dress!
@@bkfacs I’ve got a sweater dress coming up in the next video!
Your perseverance is outstanding! Very pretty results at the end which I was not expecting! You are a genius!
I love that gray sweater. It’s so beautiful.I love the black ribbon.

Cute!! A black silk corded necklace with a dainty pendant would be fantastic!
What an amazing transformation... from blah to beautiful ❤️. Seeing the finished product and watching you take it step by step and working out each challenge on the way was so inspiring 👏👍.

Love the finished top.
Ohhh wow... Love it... You did an awesome upcycle.. Looks so much much better xx
What a rollercoaster ride. Glad you're happy in the end.

OMG, I just ❤ this project and how that original sweater was completely transformed! Your vision and ideas are amazing 😍

Catherine, it's adorable! Thank you so much for the inspiration!!
Wow! You are so creative! Congratulations on your perseverance and the beautiful results on this pretty upcycle! You look very pretty in it!

You turned that into such a beautiful and feminine sweater. It looks fabulous on you.
Wow, what a transformation. I love it. I will look at sweaters a bit differently at thrift shops.
I love the sweater. Great job. It was nice watching you make it work.
What a wonderful save to that sweater!!
Much better than the original
Oh that’s so pretty!!
It came out adorable!
Thanks! To be honest, I was worried the WHOLE time, but I love how it finally came together.
You are really good at this!
Such great demonstration of puzzling out and persevering!
It looks lovely, well done Cathrine! I would worry about the wool unraveling but you’ve made it look easy

You are courageous in your design process. Love the result.
I could never do all this in a million years, but boy am I fascinated watching you do it! Beautiful!!
I love your revised sweater. I don't like turtle necks or cowls. You did a fantastic job. The black ribbon is perfect. Thank you for sharing. God bless.
I love the the black-ribbon-solution. 🎉
Unglaublich, wieviel Mühe Sie in das Teil gesteckt haben. Aber es hat sich absolut gelohnt und vermutlich werden Sie es oft tragen!
I’ve been afraid to cut knits. Your sweater turns out so cute.
Lovely, the neckline is gorgeous. I’d change the ribbon to match the colour of my trousers or skirt, or even shoes or handbag!
I had my doubts about those bows. But I admit it looks great on. You are such an inspiration. And I'm not even a seamstress.
Adorable results! Not for the faint of heart, lol-- But it does give me the courage to take in a knit sweater I have that's too big.
Such a beautiful upcycle! I'm always impressed with your final product. Definitely gives me inspiration to try an upcycle.
Much better. I'm going to try this on a jumper I was gifted last Christmas and hate the neckline. Thankyou for the inspiration.
You kept me guessing to the end! I love the way it turned out. You are amazing. ❤
This is so inspiring! I loved seeing the process and all your decision making!
