We had the best time! Catherine planned and planned and it was amazing! I know she must have been so tired at the end of each day as her energy and attention to each of us never ending. A rich adventure that I hope to experience again! Get your friends together and do this in your own hometown. 😊

I had such a great time! I learned so many new techniques and was so motivated that I went home, finished my shirt and upcycled three more garments and am finishing up my 4th. Marissa’s dress came out so cool! It was a nod to the lagenlook style.
Susan’s jeans with the camo were also very, very cool. I can see a jeans manufacturer making something like that.
All the ladies did a good job with their upcycles. They made nice things that suited their style, and in some examples, all it needed was a little tweak to make it fabulous, like an alteration or swapping the buttons.

Once I saw those fabrics together I just couldn't let them go, even though I knew before I started that it was a super-challenging thing to put all those together. Now that you've named that style I'm going to go look for more information on it!! I learned so much and definitely tested my skills (and failed often, lol). 😄

Thank you so much to Catherine and all the ladies at the retreat. So wonderful that you were happy to share, so much to learn from this video, both in terms of creativity and techniques. I just recently used the knowledge I had been gleaning from Catherine’s many upcycle videos and successfully managed to take an op shop find which was a couple of sizes too big (but just the right fabric ) and adjust it for a better fit. I think it’s more fun than making a new piece of clothing from scratch. Thank you again to you all!

I think Catherine's suggested patterns can be helpful too, for using on thrifted fabric to make different sleeves or just to mix and match styles. It was a wonderful experience and I hope she'll continue to offer these retreats for more people!

This was SO much fun to watch! What a great idea to hold this retreat! Thank you to everyone for sharing your exploration and creativity. Catherine, how great to see you in action as a teacher. I enjoyed seeing how each participant developed their ideas and thought through the execution. I'm sure every viewer takes away some favorites, but I felt a few things were particularly useful, such as discussions about what make it a bit easier or a bit more challenging, borrowing a bit of fabric from a wrap design for modesty, and how to address a full bust adjustment. The latter, I know, felt for you like more of a "learning moment" than a complete success, but the difference in how flattering the fit was- amazing!!! I also want to mention those pintuck sleeves! I hope there are finished images. Even unfinished, that top looked luxe!!!! So exciting to see all the designs. What a successful adventure!!! Thank you!!

Your channel is the only channel where I look forward to new videos and watch them. And sometimes binge watch while I sew. Sewing is my work. I make sheets and chair covers and baby things, etc, for hospitals.

What a great video and so fun! Hope you will do more of these. I was planning to donate some clothes that don’t fit and a lot of new that were ordered online that did not work out. Then after seeing this video I thought, wait! I can use fabric from these to upscale other garments that I really do like that needed some restyling or adjustments. I don’t need to go buy fabric or go to the thrift store; I already have lots of things I can use! Thanks Catherine! I’ve learned so much from you. You are such a joy!

My husband recently got me a cute tshirt from Lake Anna, but it was tight and about uncomfortable, but with all the inspiration I get from this channel, I cut the neck and sleeves off a bit! Now I love it!! ❤

So many fun and creative projects! Some of the solutions were so clever, like the full bust adjustment princess seam insertion business, and the pin tuck sleeve. So many exuberant fabric combos, too. Very inspiring!

Thank you for showing how to do a Full Bust Adjustment, and how to properly measure and place. My only regret...how did I miss this? I would have loved to have been there. I'm less than 40 miles away.
