Coco IS a once in a generation player and she should not be “Winning Ugly”- Brad Gilbert wanted Coco to keep doing things that weren’t working until they worked and that isn’t a good coaching technique. Also, with his style of tennis, he wasn’t helping with the mental aspect which I think is the very biggest issue for her right now.
You are always on point to the T “keep doing things until they work” When they obviously didn’t fit her style well said and the fact that her numbers and confidence at times got worse should’ve been the measure to change the strategy ❤❤
You are right on point. I have said an several previous posts that I thought Riba was the best coach for her and that he was forced out by Gilbert. I do not believe he has Coco's best interest at heart. He preferred to mask and hide her to biggest issue: the serve and the forehand and not address it directly. I did not like how he hung his head when Coco make a fault or an error on the court. I truly did not appreciate his "side gig" as an analyst for ESPN: Coco just lost and Brad is immediately on ESPN doing commentary? Like seriously?? As you said Good Energy, Coco did not had a bad season; but at the same time, it was far below expectations. Riba, as you said, does not get nearly the credit he rightly deserves!!! So onward and upward for Coco; let us leave this less that stellar experience with Gilbert behind and in the rear view mirror. Onward to your destiny and true potential, Coco!!!!😍🥳
Yes very well said Riba didn’t get enough credit and I say mid year Brad definitely needed to scrap the fast serve and make adjustments as the Faults and DF’s keep compounding, the last interview after the U.S. open where Coco lost with the 19 DF’s was very awkward to watch but you make all great points well said
I agree with your analysis; BG wasn’t a good fit for her or the team. I think he’s an excellent coach but wasn’t right for her. I just don’t think the chemistry needed between coach and player was there which is the reason she brought on JC. Also, because as of now, she still has JC on her team as a coach with Felipe, I don’t think she needs to rush into adding another coach. A mechanics specialist would be great, though.
Well said… they have experience coaching coco as a Junior and know her game well, Coco has another Junior Coach I cant remember his name now but I was thinking he might be a possibility as well
I believe osaka and coco problems are mental they both have great games but closing of matches is there latest problem if they can find someone to help them cross over that line they both will be #1 #2 in the world
@@TennisinaMinute that is one thing i will totally agree with you on i wish i was living America just to see her train and play tennis thats the only child i will spend my money to watch 24/7
I hope she can get Pere RIBA back on her team I really believe he kicked her summer into high gear…also the serve and forehand mechanics need to be addressed and adjusted. I wish her the best…she will continue to win slams, but needs a reset
Great analysis 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I agree with everything you stated 💯 Coco is such a great talent that tournaments are just not as exciting without her playing ❤ I would like to see if Rennae Stubbs could improve her confidence and give her back the mental belief in her all-around game 👌🏽
Not only did Riba leave her old hitting partner was switched out as well. It was just down hill. I hope she’s able to regroup , find a coach that really going to work with her and make the necessary changes
There are many technical flaws in Coco's tennis 🎾 and Emma Navaro in particular exposed it. I still can't categorise Coco's style as to what her strengths are but whatever it is, it's not working. I really have no clue what Brad has achieved. He should probably stick with being a commentator. His days as a good coach may have passed. The French man Patrick could have been a better coach but he is now with Osaka.
Brad has coached some really good hall of fame talent and is known for developing really good servers, I think many of Coco’s other talents got ignored in development while the serve got worse ….ouch …Brad is a great coach this just wasn’t a good pairing
@@TennisinaMinute Probably he should train male Tennis players. 🎾 His style didn't work with Coco or Coco didn't let it work. What l do know is that Coco hasn't reached anywhere near her peak. She is going to play a lot better two or 3 years from now than she ever played.
@@TennisinaMinute you didnt understand me she did some track work 2weeks ago 400 200 100 and some other workout on the track that is what am asking you about about just see a little clip with her laying on the track
@@TennisinaMinute thats all what can he do when it dont work anymore she needs a mental coach to help her deal with stuff outside of tennis so it will not harm her game again once she gets that everything will workout fine
Creo k Brad es muy buen entrenador,el problema de Coco es mental,le falta seguridad,no es posible con su experiencia yya tiene 20 años,k llore cada vez k pierde,ahí en ese sentido necesita apoyo.

I disagree. I do not think she's a once in a generation player but we shall see. 🫣🎾🤔
Once in a generation ❤️❤️ exactly Serena said it best ❤️❤️
This was really a detailed analysis. I wish her all the best and luck in her future career.❤
We all do too ❤❤❤❤ 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Omg sooooo true it’s sad but we do lose interest when she’s not on the schedule ❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
A necessary change. She needs a coach who will challenge her work ethic, mental approach, and attention to detail.
Yes all players need those basics

And Venus and Serena are super novas…no American girls have lived up to their standard …. The girls have to own their own tennis journey
Since it is all on her on the court, she does not need to carry 2 additional salaries ???
I hope so dont take nick thats like leaving tbe heat and running into the fire best she try a female coach
Nick does have an amazing serve 🎾🎾🎾

From my research all the players usually cry when they lose …they are true competitors with human emotions 😢
