MTB Madeira island Day 1: Beautiful but Brutal!

Day 1 of our Madeira island mountain bike trip! We ride some crazy trails, crash in a huge hole in the ground, and later on Craig breaks his collarbone!

Madeira island is a location i've wanted to ride ever since seeing it in RUclips videos around 8 years ago, it was a crazy experience to be able to go and see the island for myself, from the busy streets of Funchal, to the beautiful rainforests and mountains. There are a lot more bike trails here than i was expecting, over 74 to be precise! Loads of berms, jumps, loam, rocks and roots... a little bit of everything with trails that cater for all riders from beginners to experts and pros! Hopefully you enjoy this video showcasing a bit of enduro, freeride and downhill riding.

As long as you get it plated you'll be riding within a month.
Natural healing will be 6+ months and a refracture can happen so easily.

I feel sorry for the guy. Broke my collar bone a month ago and in my case, had to undergo an operation to install a platinum bar with a hook to fix. It's pain from hell and long weeks of recovery and physiotherapy, sleepless nights (unless you go crazy with pain medication) and basically months until getting to ride again.

Motocross, done my right collar bone 4 times and it hurts but just pull your shoulder back and put a sling on. Unless too damaged then plated but not recommended as if bent will need to go under the knife. 6 Ibs will break it and there's some shoulder nerves behind that if damaged can't be repaired. Mountain bike now but so far so good.
