I am curious why their shoes are so expensive since they are a company. I figured they would be closer to $68-80 a pair. I guess it varies widely company to company.

it depends on what kind of shoes they are. my current shoes are around $90/100, but i've also had shoes that are closer to $70/80. i've also hear some dancers say that theirs are only $60.

This video is great! I am looking for production videos to show my dance appreciation class at the University of Houston and I'm going to have them watch this. The going back and forth between the performance and the costume shop gives us a real feel for how the costumes get used. The bit about the pointe shoes and how much they cost is great bc for non dancers, the pointe shoe is one of the biggest mysteries..lol..and showing the Balanchine estate costume bible is also very informative. Thanks!!!

Sorry but I have to say that those tutus with huge flowers on trim,.... they are just ugly....not only the design, but also the colors. It makes the dancers look shorter, and gaudy....They need to change the costume team.... really....

Kinda doubt it. Unless they are selling ones that were once used by one of their stars at a gala or something.
