Call after 9pm Exactly 14 days before your travel date. They’ll answer within 10 sec. I’ve done it twice trying to get info and it always worked.
The answer the phone at 9 pm that's great I need my daughter's passport we leaving on 2 weeks.

19:30 I never drive to JFK. I go to the lower level of Penn Station and take the LIRR to Jamaica Station and then take the AirTrain straight to my terminal. LIRR trains leave from Penn Station to Jamaica Station roughly every 10-15 minutes and it's about 20 minutes from Penn Station to Jamaica Station.
Just went through this. I gave them a date within 14 days , but told them it was pushed back due to Covid and it was no point to cancel 😂 it worked. I kept changing the day every time I called 😆 they didn’t ask for any flight information though!
They dont ask upfront, but you do need to show an itinerary with a confirmation number! (But you can also use a number of sites to book the flight, then cancel if you just need your passport asap). Messy, messy process. It’s more stressful preparing the paperwork and dealing with the agents on the phone than it is working with the folks behind the desks. As long as you have your paperwork in order, you’re golden.
Girl I feel you did mine and tried to expedite it and don't think I'm going to get it in time smh suppose to be going to Jamaica in May . I really want to go smh first the expedite took 5-7 weeks but now the website is saying 7-9 weeks, and my trip is at 8 weeks. I knew I shouldn't went with the mail.

I'm going through pure hell with this process. when you call, it's 1,2,2,1 as soon as they say 'you will be presented with a menu...' . No exaggeration, my wife and I must have called at least 200 times until we finally got an appointment for my daughter. It's hell. It's a terrible process. I might wish certain things upon my enemies, but THIS is not one of them.
Oh, lets not forget my issue with her info - the birth certificate states the municipality of the hospital, along with the hospital name. No city...not on ANY of the official NYS Birth cert or receipt of live birth (i think that's what it's called). So, we had to give them the City in which the hospital is in (because the municipality has 100's of zip codes!!!).
not to mention, the agents on the phone are not always nice, and they will hang up on you because they no NOTHING about the process. Most of them dont, some of them are good and can share information with you, but ask them something technical and they hang up on you.
My family was to fly to EU on Monday, it was over teh weekend when we realized her passport had expired in just the last month. A terrible, devastating mistake on our part, but the process and events that followed should NOT have happened. Thanks to COVID this process got way worse. Our appointment is next week, I pray things go well. Either way, i'll report back.

@@erikablu429 im curious as well. My appointment is this week (i kept calling and made 3, i’ll cancel the others if successful this week). Its hell. If you have a confirmed itinerary and you need that Passport NOW, whereas pre covid you would wait on a line and get it in a day, TODAY, you’re plain screwed.. call on Tuesday morning for the first appointments the FOLLOWING monday.
THEN… keep calling all week to see if you can get a new appointment.
Be aware, the workers who answer the phones are not all knowledgable and they WILL hang up on you.
Girl! I am so annoyed, thanks for sharing your story. I’m traveling November 25th, and I still have not received my passport after putting it in since this past summer! They rejected the pictures, which were taken at the post office, because they said the top of my head wasn’t 1 3/8 inches from the bottom of photo. What??!! I sent new pictures, as per their requests expedited, certified, well over a week ago and still nothing! I’m calling to see if I can get an appointment, I got a little trick up my sleeve. Wish me luck! 🙄

It can be within 5 days of appointment for countries that do not need a visa and 10 days for those who need it. It can be earlier and hopefully you got your passport.

1. Do you need birth certificate I have everything but that even have 2 forms of id and is the number the same doe everyone I don't see a number for los angeles
Hey Luis! Good luck, you got this! As long as you have a form of Id you’ll be fine. I used my state id. Unless you were born outside of the U.S then you’ll need a certificate of naturalization. If not you’ll only need a birth certificate for children under 16 years old.
The number for LA is the same as NY: 18774872778

What documents do you need to bring and is it guaranteed that they will give it to you THE DAY OF your flight?
Watch 14:28 and 31:41. No matter what you’ll get your passport on the same day you go to the agency but for catching your flight it depends if you give yourself at least 5 hours to wait for the passport and get to the airport. So don’t book an early flight.
I have my appointment on June 15,22 and they told me that I need my flight ticket prove and the reason why I’m traveling.

My stress level is high right now! My h husband failed to file the passport in time... He had too much hope in the passport acceptance facility...

Does the passport agency give you back all your original documents with the new passport at the same day? I am talking about your birth certificate or the naturalization certificate. Do they give them back to you at same day when you receive the passport or they mail them to you later on? Please let me and thank you for sharing your experience with us.
I think they do but just make a quick copy of it just in case

LOL. Um if you can cancel your flight then yea go for it. They actually do ask for flight confirmation number MOST of the time. Some ppl say they weren’t asked.

My boyfriend applied for his us passport back in February and he still hasn’t gotten it. It’s been such a horrendous experience. He even went to a processing center for the 2 week appointment in June because it was taking so long. They said he would have it by the end of June. Still nothing.

That is a very important question lol. The first time I tried they did not, the second time I tried they did! So I would say actually book a flight and not take a chance.

If you are fortunate, your local US post office should also have passport applications. I got my passport pictures from CVS, done in 10 minutes (hassle free, thank god)

An upcoming flight is fine as long as it is within the next two weeks. They try and schedule your appointment within 5-10 days depending on if you need a Visa or not.
* call 14 days before your flight to make appointment (not five days).
This was in 2022 so I’m sure it’s easier to book now

What if you already submitted your passport? Will the urgent travel service still work?
No because you need a physical copy of your passport to do it
@@JoWithTheFro1 that is not true. If you renewed by mail and it still has not come in time, they do advise you call to make an in-person appointment within 5 business days of your travel date. However, since you do not have your old passport, you will just be applying for a new one and need to fill out the DS-11 form instead of the DS-82 (renewal) form.
Yes, it will work. If you already applied, they advise you to call within 5 business days of your travel date to make an urgent in-person appointment (so long as an appointment is available) to get your passport. You would be applying for a new passport and not renewing it as you do not have your old passport with you. However, if the agency that is processing your mailed/submitted passport application already printed your passport, then the agency of your appointment cannot issue you a passport. It is whoever gets to printing it first that matters.

2 weeks but try and call at around 8am eastern time. They will try and get you your actual appointment at around 5 days for no visa and 10 days if u need a visa.
