I wish to thank Taetro for this tutorial, it was very helpful! It took me quite a bit of time to set it up properly, now I find it quite easy to use. I have never been good at anything computer related so at a first glance it looked scary, a total rocket science.
Not able to find the Roli plug-in @2:53, it's just blank in the entire plug-ins section. If you know the solution to my problem, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Hi Taetro !!! What a wonderful instrument! I'm curious about the possibility to map LIVE's devices parameters so that every key's different pressure or slide etc responds differently i.e., playing samples, could different pressures per key correspond to different loop positions , or applied filters levels, or reverb size, or delay time etc??? It would be so perfect!!! And what about the big glide around the keyboard? Is it mappable too to that kind of stuff? THX !!! 🎛❤

I have Live11 Intro, I just purchased Seaboard Rise 2 and connected it. My preferences Menu does not show any listings under Midi Ports. Control Surfaces Does not Have Seaboard listed either.
I would really appreciate a step by step guide on how to set up audio drivers for the ROLI connect and abelton live 11 lite, as there is a conflict that the same driver cannot be used for both pieces of software, so i can hear sound from one, but not the other and how am I supposed to be able to record when you can't hear anything?!! Really struggling to set this up correctly and I don't want to send it back!! I run windows11 x64 bit if anyone is able to help me?
I am going insane trying to install Equator 2's VST into Ableton. The few guides I found give me a file path that contains other Roli VSTs, but equator2 is missing for me. cant find out for the life of me where it is
Hey there, sorry to hear you've had trouble with this. Check out this article which lists the location of the Equator2 VST3 file: bit.ly/3T4DAQe. You might need to add this as a location in Ableton's settings if you're not seeing it in the VST3 section of Ableton's plug-in browser.
Using Ableton Lite 11 that came with the Roli Seaboard.... I clicked on Plugins and typed Roli but i do not see Equator 2. What should i do to get it to be selectable?
I was watching an old video from ROLI, and I figured out how to do it. Under Ableton Live, go to your settings and under the Plugins tab enable your VST plugins in the system folder. I did the VST2 and VST3 ones and they showed up for me. Hope this helps!
1. Have you installed ROLI Dashboard and you are able to see it there? 2. Sometimes connecting ROLI hardware while you are in the Bluetooth menu of ableton might help . Try disconnect and open ableton preferences, go to Bluetooth tab then connect your ROLI hardware. 3. After you see your Seaboard there, make sure input checkbox is enabled. 3. In ableton MIDI track, enable recording, meaning arm your track, then you should be able to get the sound. Please let me know any other help is required. Happy to help.

Hi Taetro, thanks for all your content which Is always a pleasure watching. I am seeing in your Dashboard that your RISE2 is running firmware version 1.1.8-55. I would like to try that with mine because I notice that slide and pressure gestures are not sending smooth curves for me. From the looks of it (when Equator’s curves are visible and you are showing a gesture on a single note) yours seems to react much smoother than mine. I want to find out whether I have a bad hardware or whether firmware 2.0.2 may be not optimal. Alas, I only find v1.1.8 (without the -55) and while it installs and the faders and touchpad are working, no notes are coming in. I’d be ever so thankful if you could help me out.
Hey Frank, the firmware used in the video was preproduction. The 2.0.2 is the best one to use. There were no changes to slide so behaviour should be identical. If you do see an issue please do create a ticket at roli.com/support
@@WeAreROLI Thanks. Yes, I will create a report about it. My Rise definitely works worse than any of my Blocks in terms of Glide and Press smoothness. I think I notice the Slide “steppyness” more on the Rise because there is just more distance to slide on while they both are equally not really smooth. While I believe all of this could be optimised in firmware, I do have issues with middle C misbehaving when too much pressure is applied (press values suddenly may drop to zero until a bit of pressure is released and there may be unprovoked pitch bend messages coming with steep pressure drops). I don’t like the idea of sending the device back, but it’s probably not avoidable.
Just got mine, and one disappointing thing I noticed is the sliders on the left do not interact with the note you currently are holding down. They only affect the next notes played. Am I wrong here? Because that kills a lot of creativity and requires editing or third party hardware.
Dear ROLI, you have created wonderful products and no one knows MPE better than you know. Please support and not let people go away from your products. If you look at Apple lineup, they have them At every price point. IMHO, how many videos you make, people won’t spend 1300 Euro for a very specific hardware. They prefer normal versatile keyboards with lots of controls. IMHO, You better bring Seaboard Blocks. They are more ideal, affordable, extendable, easy to carry and people use it as an auxiliary keyboard. Unless you realise the target user, you may not be able to sell the Rise 2 more. Unless you are already making wonders with Rise2 sales.

How do I get the Roli sounds to show up in garageband? When I go to “user patches” nothing is there. Is it not compatible?
You would use the appropriate software like ROLI Studio Player or Equator2 as an AU.

soo cool!! can all this work on windows as well? does the rise 2 work on windows the same way it would work macOS?
