Wow, I can see it already: "Miniatures on an Elgoo Mars", "Miniature packaging using laster cutter", "Vaccuforming your own miniature packaging inserts", "Airbrushing techniques for miniatures". It's gonna be a long, enjoyable trip.
I thought the newest iPhones/iPads have photogrammetry built in. That would save a step and any export payments. Next time try priming the print before painting it.
Great work guy that is awsome how you do all that work. The time and money spent. It came out nice. Makes me want to do it so I can make some poltergeist figures since no one makes them.
thin your paints and add the colors in layers to get it where you want. otherwise everything is great! oh look into meshroom, its open source photogrammetry software.
Damn, that looks sweet! I don't have much experience with 3D printing, but have been painting small-scale figures for some time. If you do another similar project, I highly recommend going for Citadel paints. They're made for miniature game pieces and they've made a big difference in my work. You'll definitely notice the difference. Do a 50:50 water-to-paint ratio with them. It applies really smoothly and gets rid of the paint strokes that appear with most other paints.
You would greatly benefit from a resin printer! I have both and I would definitely print something this small on a resin printer, the detail is amazing! just a little tip if you want it.
Hello my holy friends. I just need to watch Avatar: The Last Airbender x Naruto Shippuden x TMNT x Marvel crossover movies in most epic CGI + ultra realistic unreal engine + sweetest 3D Disney style. Thank you my holy friends ☑️
quick tip: try watering your pants with a few drops of water so that you can get an even coat of paint and most importantly, it doesn't cover the details
I was going to ask the very same question. Even if you're not going to sell them... Could you release the Print files for those of us that would like to make our own? @Duane Shoots Toys
That is so awesome. I found you on Instagram and I was amazed at the stuff you were putting out there. I myself am a collector of collectibles or toys. So I can appreciate what you do. Subscribed 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻✌🏻✌🏻🍻🍻🍻
What a great video I definitely got to try this with some things that I have. but I think the hold back for me would definitely be doing the box. Maybe in the future you can do a more detailed video of laying it out in Photoshop. I wouldn't mind shrinking down the cartoon NECA turtles
Thanks for watching! Yeah, photogrammetry is a fun technique to use. The box isn't too difficult to make if you have some basic Photoshop experience. I'll keep that idea in mind and may do a video showing the full process in the future.
@@DuaneShootsToys thank you for the reply zero photoshop skills I pretty much only use Lightroom. I gave this try the other night but I think my lighting was to dim. I was shooting at f4 and exposure was locked. Ill give a other shot tomorrow
This looks awesome and fun! You really nailed the Neca turtles look! You know, I've always wanted to try 3D printing stuff but the cheap machines require assembly, something I'm not confident in (I am clumsy, I have a tendency of losing small things!). I've also been thinking about photogrammetry. There's this mmorpg I play called Mabinogi for more than a decade and I want to make a toy out of my game character. Since you can take pictures in the game from any angle, the idea behind photogrammetry should work. I'm amazed that even with just a camera (and not those studio types with 50 or more cameras), you were able to produce a very good lookin mini Michaelangelo. I guess that software really is good!
This looks amazing. I’ve had this video sitting in my “watch later” for over a year and finally got around to it.. I was looking to do the same. Any chance you share the stl file for the figure? Or any of the files for the box images perhaps?
Best toy photographer 100%
I appreciate the kind words and support, thank you!

Duane, this is brilliant… I’m guessing somewhat time consuming? Is there a chance to purchase any of these?

have you considered using a resin 3d printer to print out small figures?
Yes, I'd like to get a resin printer eventually, I think it would significantly improve the quality of my prints!
Dude this was awesome! Where did you get those mini Toy Story figs?
I got them from Toys R Us here in Canada shortly after Toy Story 4 was released. You might be able to find them at Wal-Mart as well.
This was fucking awesome! Love your work man. 👍🏾
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!!
I would clone my action figure
I would recommend using Tree Supports for organic shapes like this. It’s SO much easier to remove.
Wow you should do the rest of the turtles
Event 1 monitors! Old school, I have the same pair. Are you in Edmonton or just a fan?
Haha nice, yeah I got those monitors around 20 years ago and they're still working well! And yes, I'm in Edmonton.
