Take No Prisoners Megadeth Lesson - Dave Mustaine's Part

  • I didn't want to just show you the notes and chords to play. There's so much more going on with Megadeth riffs so for that reason the lesson probably a little drawn out for some. Dave has been a major influence in my guitar playing since I picked up the guitar so I'd like to pass on techniques that stand out.

FINALLY!!! THIS is what i believe YOU should KEEP on doing... YOU are a MASTER OF THIS GENRE and NOBODY else out there, can EVER be as good of a teacher as YOU... i've been watching your channel for a LONG time, (and i've even had the luxury of a talk a while back about a little help doing "sinth metal" for which you so graciously answered and assisted me, and I thank you for that response...) so now I would like to offer my assistance now... I don't know why I never thought of it before, because you know so much, but as one with enough wisdom would say, you should share your knowledge and teach others, because YOU have so much to give... I hope to see more of these instructional's because I believe that only YOU have the perfect potential to do it the proper ...JUSTICE!!!

The descending riff is actually chromatic and goes from 14th to the 2nd fret without skiping frets.
    Very simple.
You can check out the live performance at San Diego.
Also the opening F" riff and its repeats through the song uses sliding and it's easier to perform than this version with two fingers.
    Cheers!

DEAR LAMBCHOPPSTER, i have a humble request for your next instructional... I personally STILL do not know how to play "HOLY WARS" correctly, yes, i admit it... i know its an "easy one" that EVERYONE already knows by now, (accept for me) ...i hope you could finally "clear the air" for me/all of us, right here, once, ...and for all, ...with another one of your official "LAMBCHOPPIN'-768-INSTRUCTIONAL-TUTORIALS" ...because that would make it all nice and "official" as to how we ALL should go about playing it PROPERLY...
(and yes... I am calling out all of those of you who are in DENIAL about how you may claim that you already know how to play HOLY WARS... you all just "THINK" you know how to play it "CORRECTLY"... mmm??? ...we shall see!!!)
