- I didn't want to just show you the notes and chords to play. There's so much more going on with Megadeth riffs so for that reason the lesson probably a little drawn out for some. Dave has been a major influence in my guitar playing since I picked up the guitar so I'd like to pass on techniques that stand out.

Take no prisioners is one of the hardest Megadeth's songs to play for sure. Its so fast

@@wearenotundone you kidding? the only thing hard about tornado of souls is the solo, it was the second megadeth song rhythm I've learnt after Symphony of destruction, after about three months of playing guitar.

@@wearenotundone it isnt fast it isnt technical. The rhythm of the verse break isnt that easy but comparing to lucretia prisoners and rust in peace its a joke

One of the best riff lords
that whole album is a master class on metal guitar. any song, rhythm, solo, whatever.

YOU are a MASTER OF THIS GENRE and NOBODY else out there, can EVER be as good of a teacher as YOU... i've been watching your channel for a LONG time, (and i've even had the luxury of a talk a while back about a little help doing "sinth metal" for which you so graciously answered and assisted me, and I thank you for that response...) so now I would like to offer my assistance now... I don't know why I never thought of it before, because you know so much, but as one with enough wisdom would say, you should share your knowledge and teach others, because YOU have so much to give... The riff at 13:00 is one of the best megadeth riffs imo its so fast

finally someone who actually taught the whole thing thing the right way
The descending riff is actually chromatic and goes from 14th to the 2nd fret without skiping frets.
Very simple.

Also the opening F" riff and its repeats through the song uses sliding and it's easier to perform than this version with two fingers.

I remember a few years ago doing a megadeth tribute, we played everything that had to be played…but that song…it just was too hard. Hopefully with this vids help we will if there is a next time
hello lambchopper was wondering if you could recommend between evh 15 watt head vs marshall dsl 20 head i cant decided between these to heads i mostly play ozzy songs and Metallica 90s 80s metal thanks. and awesome tutorial!

I’d take the DSL in this case, the 50w EVH is a different story. There’s loads of tones you can get from the DSL. I’m impressed by mine and I’d happily gig with it.

I personally STILL do not know how to play "HOLY WARS" correctly, yes, i admit it... i know its an "easy one" that EVERYONE already knows by now, (accept for me) ...i hope you could finally "clear the air" for me/all of us, right here, once, ...and for all, ...with another one of your official "LAMBCHOPPIN'-768-INSTRUCTIONAL-TUTORIALS" ...because that would make it all nice and "official" as to how we ALL should go about playing it PROPERLY...

Those seven notes at 18:06 are a transposition of what he used in Jump In The Fire. The only song I can play!
it's a common blues lick 8)
it's used a whole bunch in metallica songs, like the four horsemen, jump in the fire, seek and destroy, etc.
The rhythm section at around 18:00 is insanely difficult to play at original speed
