      @Lily Lily I don’t care much about lyrics. English is my second language and it took some time until I finally understood the lyrics of my favorite bands. In the meantime I was already fully enjoying the rhythms, melodies, harmonies and tonecolors of the music. If you aim for great lyrics with some important message or some provocative catchy words or something beautiful and poetic, you don’t necessarily have to listen to music, you could just read the lyricS, some poem or, if you want some more content,
      and information input, read a full book with hundreds of pages. You might enjoy some exotic foreign songs, without understanding a single word and still enjoy the music. Music is not language, that is my basic message to you.

Dave Mustaine is a musical genius, and he's always hired outstanding guitar players who contrast well with his raw, dirty-sounding style. I would like to add a few more techniques: legato slides (Hangar 18, Public Enemy No. 1, and Burnt Ice) and two-note-per-string descending runs (Reckoning Day, Family Tree, Dread and the Fugitive Mind, Return to Hangar, and The Emperor). There's also some pretty advanced tapping, as well (right-hand and string-skipped). Again, great job!

    Also those major third chords are seemingly Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth's favourite chords. Noticeably prevalent on the first few albums.

    @~7.40 that "skipping a note" was also used in the My Last Words intro. Although I'm certain a lot of these riffs and things mentioned are used in plenty of Megadeth songs!

    Great Video.Playing myself for decades in several metal bands and still could not figure out some Megadeth Riffs perfect.Yeah, it's Megadeth.Haha.This video will help all the beginners if they are willing to learn outside their 'comfort zone'. You name it.What I personaly always loved are those exotic or arabian scales.I am in a Iron Maiden Tribute Band and they often used those things back in the days.Keep on rocking with your great videos.

    I found ascending 4's harder to do than descending. Maybe because I listened to alot of Anthrax at the time and Dan Spitz did alot of those descending (Madhouse, Indians, In My World, etc.). Just kinda shocked me that most struggle with the opposite of your example

You could easily make many different dvds b/c you have "IT" (ABITITY TO PLAY AND TEACH TO NOT OVERWHEM WHOM LIKE ME SUCK BUT YOU DO A FANTASTIC JOB WITH LIKE DOING WHAT YOUR DOING THIS IS A GIFT YOU HOPEFULLY ARE AWHERE OF MANY GREAT PLAYERS CAN NOT DO AND TEACH)
    KEEP IT UP--------------------------------------------------------------.

Later inspiring the song Holy Wars)

    God hearing your metal tone on that guitar reminds me of my ex gf's late grandfathers 1980s solid state Randall RG-80 combo with a 20in Celestial speaker in it. I was soo bummed having to give it back lol now I have a horrible tiny off brand shoebox amp with zero distortion no sustain it sounds like crap and I have a bigger combo amp that has all types of FXs built into it with a screen on it but the input where you plug the guitar cord into it is completely broken, so it needs a new one saudered on but I dont know how to do any of that to fix it so it's like torture having to play without an amp when I play thrash and Death metal music 95% of the time

  • @danielblake1537
    @danielblake1537 Год назад

    That first part where your playing the Peace Sells bridge part and you called it "thirds" when they play the same thing just on a different octave, my favorite band "Death" used those alot in their songs aswell but I always thought they were basically "fifths" but I'm horrible when it comes to any technical terms. I can cover songs all day by ear or watching the finger placement in videos but I couldn't tell you the first thing about what I'm playing lol....one thing that I notice is it's hard to find the correct tabs to my favorite songs so theres parts I dont know what they're playing and cant sound it out. Especially solos, I end up getting lost when learning them because of the speed, it doesnt sound right until you speed it up

    Dude I think your Holy Wars intro is still wrong. When the riff shifts up to F#, the last note is B not Bb. It's not a straight shift of the whole E riff up a tone, it resolves back to the 5th of E before shifting back down to E.

    I love Martys playing but If you break it down he usually frets notes that would be out of key but the ghost bends them so they are in tune and also he plays sequences chromatically meaning at some point he's playing out of key also however he plays it so intentionally your ear just accepts it and all is well. Marty talks about this in one of his videos in depth. He didn't learn conventionally and so most of his style came about because he was just trying to make it all as easy as possible for himself which is why he plays in box positions very often just like the traditional pentatonic blues box positions.
    It's awesome he learned like this otherwise he would of sounded just like the thousand other guitar players did from the 80s...yuk. Not meaning all are bad but sometimes your ear can get tired of the 3 note per string thing. Thank God for Marty Friedman opening the doors to a different way to make the guitar sound exotic and best of all he is instantly recognisable also even on Jason Becker records.:)
