I have this pedal, and like it. Keep in mind, what somebody likes, somebody else might not like. A lot of music gear is absolutely subjective to the individual.
WE NEED A MOOER/SOLAR SATAN PREAMP PEDAL! Ola and mooer are friends so idk why it can't happen. They already have the satan in the ge250, ge300, and mooer preamp live. Unless ola wants to make a pedal like the victory kraken that'd be sweet.
I sold a mxr fullbore metal to Fox and i buy this pedal 1 weeks ago. And was the best what i did. Actually i using this with a boss súper overdrive on a 100w amp transistor with a 4x12 cab AND sound killer. Its the best cheapee option you can find in Argentina. Ola today i join the comunity , thanks to make all the days less horrible with you videos . We love so much
I have it, and it does the job alright. It's relatively cheap and it's able to give you a well-rounded, nicely defined distorsion, which is exactly what I was looking for, instead of your typical "Metal Zone" sort of high gain, noisy distorsion which is more common to find for that price range. Personally I like it, but you need to be looking for that sort of sound in order to fully enjoy it.
I was just planning on saving up for my first ever Solar guitar, and Coroner being my #1 favorite band, I couldn't possibly be more excited about a release of a guitar model. This is killer.
The audience is correct in that the ISF knob fully clockwise is British, CCW is American. I have the HT Metal pedal, and that's what it says in the manual for that one as well.
Actually it sounds awesome through impulses, I was playing mine through my two notes cab impulse loader with an EQ after the pedal and scooped out 400 hz out by about -6 DB and it sounds great.....the EQ after the pedal is key to scoop out 400 hz and 600hz
I used to use a pre-amp version of this pedal that was dual channel with a 12ax7 tube in it. It had separate Gain/Volume control and three band EQ along with the ISF. It sounded great.
HT Metal? I've used HT Metal pedal several years with Blackstar HT 100 Stage (Mark 1) head and Marshall 1960 vintage cabinet. I've never been fully satisfied with the sound to be honest. It sounds muddy and I've grown to almost hate it. Still I play it though :)
Toni Leppinen I will admit that I’ve always used a 10-band EQ pedal in my rig. I can shape and morph the sound to whatever I want for the most part. It is my secret weapon lol
Considering it sounds like an old hot rodded Marshall abs Metallica cut all the mids that sounds about right !? I thought that pedal sounded heavy and great for lead or rythm but yeah you guys heard Olga say it was shit so you do the uber sheep thing you have been enslaved your whole lives to do and repeat exactly what Ola says ! Bah baaaah sheeple. Animal garden
@@AuntAlnico4 umm no sheep here. Just saying my peice. Been a metal guitarist for almost 30 years and have heard better pedals. Even Metallica upgraded since kill em all..
I have a Blackstar S1-100 EL34B head with a Blackstar S1 412 PRO cab with their custom-voiced Celestion V30's. It's a monster. I like to keep the ISF knob halfway (directly in-between USA & Brit). It's also a monster to use as a power amp mule for running preamp pedals. I'll probably be putting out a new video this weekend with the Diezel Herbert preamp pedal. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
This pedal sounds to me like it's screaming for more high frequencies to reach its potential. The base tone is really good. most metal distortion pedals have such extreme lows and highs making them unusable. This almost sounds like a boosted tube preamp. Very smooth and tight. Who knows. maybe keep the iSF near a middle setting boost stick a graphic EQ pedal after it and may get into awesomeness. Thank you Ola for all you do. I have been following your video since your ""non speaking "days when you would just demo amps.
I have one of those pedals, it made a great paperweight. I just hang onto it in the collection for some reason. I do honestly use it for bass now and then.
Interestingly, I use one of these as a boost for my little Fender Champion 600 garage rig with the gain almost all the way down. I dig the heck out of it for that.
This is literally the perfect tone for a rhythm guitarist. Not to cutting but a good compliment to the base and absolutely would not drown out the lead.
Tommy Vetterli is a beast of a guitar player and a great Producer too, congrats! Please do a Episode "Coffee with Ola" with Tommy. I would love that. Have a great day and also a great Weekend. Love from Switzerland
Sound great if you dont want to paid alot and want a pedal that does a litle of everything .. plays iced earth, iron maiden , tool etc perfect for basment playing . But at one point you have to play with your amp eq tout . I play with a joyo blue jay and harley benton celection 2 ×12 and i add a overdrive for more gain . Sound great
0:00 great flutter echo you've got there Ola. Perhaps consider getting a diffuser. Just place it on a blank space of wall facing the sound source and bye bye flutter echo. I made one and they work super well.
Finally! Ola plays a distortion pedal into a clean preamp! Thank you, sounds great :) I would tweak the amp a bit, the pedal doesn't sound as good as it can be when the amp is at noon. 7:30 - why you don't plug a distortion pedal into a power amp directly, sounds like crap.
I've had this pedal, the LT Dist and the LT Drive and the only one that was worth keeping was the LT Dist. One of the best sounding distortion pedals you will ever hear is the Biyang Metal End King, and the crazy thing is is that it's also only $70 dollars new. I've had one for 12 years and it completely smokes every distortion pedal I've ever owned or heard in the last 35 years. It even has a switchable amp simulator. The only other pedal that rivals it is the Landmine Distortion Pedal.
Man, I've already seen anothers guys testing this pedal, and, they say that the volume is very poor. The amp without the amp engaged was much more louder. Greetings From Brazil Ola!
I have this pedal and NEVER use it by itself. Add an Ibanez Tube Screamer or a Boss SD1 before the blackstar LT metal and, voilá! You got an awesome metal (Van halen style) tone. Both gains set at less than 40%.
I liked the pantera intro he did 😀.I think it's not only the pedal it's self but the whole gig you are using plays a major role to the result your re getting.definitely it did the job for a low cost pedal
I like this cheap little pedal. I keep the ISF and tone pretty much at noon and dime the gain knob. Since it doesn't have an insane amount of gain, I boost it with a TS 808 clone which is kept in the loop of an NS-2.
I have this pedal and also the bigger / pricier Blackstar HT DISTX, and I say you had the ISF figured right the 1st time. Left of 12 o' clock it has that sharper more biting Marshall chug (British) and right of 12 o' clock it has the deeper more bass heavy Mesa Recto chug (US) \m/
This pedal may sound flat, but that matter of fact sound is really good for chugging in other genres then metal. This reminds me of the ultra filtered guitar on Dan Deacon's Guilford Avenue Bridge
Weird, that pedal feels like something you would just constantly keep fiddling with to find a better tone, but never quite get it. Chasing the distortion pedal dragon, in a sense.

Actually. I've just bought (a couple of days ago) and I use i plug it into my audio source EQ pedal). It sounds pretty good. I haven't got the time yet to really get into it, but with quick settings it sounds pretty nice. If you have a good amp and some good pickups you can really get the best of it.

I have LT Dist, LT Boost and a HT1 amp (1st gen). This is the exactly how I feel: with remorse. Well the HT1 can sound good when I plug it into my Fender combo speaker or when I put a Boss GE7 to push tone to levels that Blackstar won’t be able to destroy.
I have this pedal, and like it.

Ain't *that* the truth! And something that sounds good with one rig might sound like ass through another. (Voice of experience talking.)
And it could sound good or worse with different speakers, amp or pickups.
Me too. Good pedal.
As a Boss MetalZone MT-2 user, I know this all too well. I can make that thing roar, but lots of people seem to have an opposite experience.
I think Ola should make some "Solar pedals". He just knows so well what sounds good.
🤣

lol I was thinking the same thing. The Mustang will chug with a ton of tweaking but that Metal 2000 is garbage...
