One, I really really love Matilda, but I feel like the Big Friendly Giant will always be my favourite Roald Dahl book.
Two here are some book recs and or my comfort reads:))
Before the coffee gets cold (and the whole trilogy). OMG these books. Did i cry while reading these? Yes. Did I still love them? Also yes. The books are about a little japanese cafe where costumers can time travel. All three of the books tell 4 stories when a person went back in time to meet a loved one. And they are all so amazing.
The Grace Year by Kim Liggett. Amazing female main character. It’s about a small town where during the girls’ ‘Grace Year’ (basically their 16th) are taken from home for the whole year so their so said magical powers are taken from them. We follow Tierney’s Grace Year, and how she falls in love and how she discovers some truths about the town and yeah.
And last but not least, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. The book follows Aristotle and Dante, two Mexican-American teens as they meet and develop an amazing friendship, and they are just so amazing and for me relatable that this book was 5/5 ⭐️. Obviously the book wasn’t anything big, as it it about two 16 year old boys and they talk about love and who they want to be but still.
Also loved this video🫶, and lots of love < 3

I just finished reading the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo for my book club. It was unexpectedly one of my favorite books. I really enjoyed the story!

YES! It's such a good one, it took me by surprise as well - it was my first TJR book and I have since read all but one of them and every one has been a smash for me!

I loved the way you described all of these books. definitely added some to my tbr. I haven’t read any mermaid/siren books but I’ve been on the hunt and it’s been a little difficult to find some that sound good. So I was excited to see that category.
As for book recs…have you read any of the caraval books? They’re very whimsical and descriptive. It’s a very submersible read. It fits your magician category. 🥰

I am so glad you could find some book recs, and thank you for that one as well! I read Caraval years ago and remember not loving it as much as I thought I would, but I read a lot differently back then. I’d be interested to see if my mind would be changed if I read it again now!

I love books with elements of time! If you haven't read them already, I also loved: Seven Year Slip, Begin Again, and A Stitch in Time (this one also has paranormal elements).

Hello, I just discovered your channel, and being a reader and knitter (in France), I love it :) If you like powerful female characters+ books that play with time+breaking generational curses, you should definitely check Kate Atkinson's books! These are all her interests. Her detective novels also focus on these themes, but others are clearly fantasy, such as "Human Croquet", with time-travelling. Enjoy your reading and knitting! Julia
