It looks like a lot of passion went into making this game and that alone makes me want to give it a go
Yeah, I do hope it differs a lot more from Bloodborne than what has been shown. The concept is nice but I don't just want a bloodborne clone
@@twopeople158 I think it does look different enough, you have your arm that it it looks like will have different attachments, changing your move set, combinable weapons,I hope it works the way I think it does, then there’s the lying mechanic,if it’s a thing even idk,so yeah,it’s a souls like so it will be similar anyway but it looks like it has a lot going on.
@@twopeople158 Just the fact that you can block changes things a lot.
"your nose becomes the endgame weapon" i laughed way too hard at this
And that's exactly what it is. Fucking nailed the prediction, even as a joke.
The sense of impact and the animation of that impact is great and that is what really appeals to me
This is the main thing that wukong game is missing
@@ssplif5415 I really do not know about that wukong game, it looks amazing just I am just getting this nagging feeling of a Gameplay slice tech demo vibe from it
This is the point a lot of Soulslikes miss. The impact of the weapons is a big factor in combat
@@ssplif5415 no that game is perfect nobody want big ass explosions and cannon sounds for every hit
@@elvangulley3210 False Dichotomy
Max’s reaction when he opened the double doors was all of us 😂
The parry looks fucking perfect, that visual warp is the right touch
love how the loading screen is 'Now Lying'
its funny becuse most loading screen lie anyway
Game downloading 152534612 hours 98% complete
Do you have a timestamp?
@@NeroMystyra It may not be in the video, I had seen it when watching along on twitch
They knew that everyone had a Bloodborne itch waiting to be scratched. And by God, it looks like this will scratch it gooooood.
Voice acting for that woman with her baby could be a biiiit better though.
all the voice acting seems to be that way , and i think it is done deliberately cheesy.
So either it's deliberate or a placeholder.
You don't have these graphics and legit Resident Evil PSX Voice Acting without a solid reason.
Also the subtitles… the line was “Please accept my way of saying thanks”, but it read “Please accept my way up same thanks.” WHAT?! 😂
The development studios seem to be based in South Korea, according to a quick google search. The final game could end up having good English voice acting or perhaps the developers won’t invest too much money into getting good English talent. But I imagine, if a Korean voice option is available, it’d probably sound better than what was shown here for the English audio.
@@Madmushroom64 that's actually good to know.
The Bloodborne comparison is obvious but this gameplay is also giving me huge Nier vibes (not just Automata, but the original too)
It's probably the steampunk style no?
@@kue5053 well the robots specifically remind me a lot of the ones in Nier, and something about the presentation just reminds me of a Yoko Taro game combined with Bloodborne for some reason.
The robots having their own text language is making me think Nier 1 fr, maybe you have to beat the game once to get it translated lol
@@LS95774 Maybe it ties into the lying mechanic? If you tell the truth more, you understand the puppets, where if you lie, you don't?
??? lmfao
My theory on the lie mechanic is that it's going to play on how you look the more you're defeated and understanding the puppet language: you lie too much and you start to resemble a robotic puppet and end up having to take alternate routes that are more difficult but being able to understand the lore of the bosses, while being honest leaves you more human and has you on the generic route but you end up encountering more characters and get more backstory on this version of Pinocchio which could be the key to getting some sort of golden ending.
ended up being the opposite, but very good guess
i'm glad somebody's doing it. i've wanted a bloodborne sequel for 7 years now, and an Alice sequel for even longer than that, so i'm glad somebody's doing it
An Alice sequel? Is that being made right now?
@@juliohintze595 Pretty sure a new Alice game is being made yeah.
@@juliohintze595 They haven't the money to make the new one and are currently trying to gain sole IP rights from EA which is even more of a nightmare. The only thing greenlit was the animated short series which they fundraised.
@@Blackemperess Yeah that got solved years ago....They've been working on an Alice game for quite some time, even though the 2nd was awful, had zero difficulty and did nothing well.
@@lutherheggs451 it had good moments except the ending
1:54 I'm pretty sure that sound effect is from a stock library, as I've heard it before in things completely unrelated to From Software games, so they can use it all they want without issue 👌
The gameplay in this looks like it's going to be so fun. It has the perfect blend of weapon variety in Bloodborne and the variety in how you can play the game in Sekiro.
Lol stop trying to compare this to Sekiro
@@messymakaveli9098 I think it's a good thing I am literally comparing this to Sekiro since it takes a lot from the Souls formula, and Sekiro is a good thing to take from rather than making yet another game with just the dodge roll as the only way to beat an opponent.
So nah, I don't think I will.
@@messymakaveli9098 What's the difference between that and compare it to Souls game then. Both are fromsoftware games
This game reminds me the film Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, but good.
After listening to the trailer a few times… I’m prettyyyyy sure that Geppeto’s voice actor is Anthony Howell. Who also has voiced Margit/ Margot in Elden Ring, and Johnathan Reid in Vampyr
I am really glad they didn't just phone it in like people were assuming when it was first announced. They've clearly put the work in which is much appreciated. Hopefully the story holds up as well.
Looks interesting, I hope it lives up to the hype
unless epic games try to get there hands on it look what they did Babylon's fall
@@Almightyzenkai. Babylon's Fall was entirely Platinum's fault.
@@Almightyzenkai Look I'm not a huge fan of Epic either, but that's just a really silly accusation.
@@Almightyzenkai For once, Epic had nothing to do with Babylon's Fall's failure.
Besides, Lies of P is going to be released on Steam as well.
@@ArcienPlaysGames let me explain i'm talking about the live service feature not all games deserve to have a live service feature when certain games have that live service feature it ruins the game need i remind you of babylon's fall and marvel avengers . don't get me wrong its fun to play avengers but both those games bombed
I've always wonder how a souls-like game in a steampunk setting would look and play like. I guess we'd get a glimpse of it here. Hopefully the game is good.
Bloodborne?
@@danieldrees8796 yh i was like wtf didn’t bloodborne exist ?
@@reyusamv4230 not as mechanical in terms of enemy and overall aesthetic. The weapons and some areas are where you can draw comparisons really
@@reyusamv4230 Bloodborne isn't steampunk, not really, it has parts that are but like, as a whole it has very little steampunk in it.
Bloodborne is victorian lovecraft, there's no steampunk in it. The closest to steampunk in BB are just the weapons, but they are at most mechanical, none of them are steam powered or steam punk aesthetic.
“It’s Blood Starved Beast… Robot Cop Dog Man” 😂
You know a games gonna be sick when the raw gameplay footage looks more enticing than the trailers
This honestly feel like someone made Mega Man into a Soulslike.
We need a Lies of P and Alice: Madness Returns crossover dlc
That ain't happening anytime soon.
That's quite the nightmare you've dreamed up
One of my most anticipated games.
4:45 oh shit he called it lmaoo
So its Bloodborne but the main character have a Devil Breaker (DMC5)???
NEAT
I think what i enjoy the most is how you break down the games. you provide context thats missed in presentation with an understanding of your own.
Ok, the whole story idea behind this is intriguing as all hell.
"His nose becomes the endgame weapon" well... you see...
“If you’re not making bloodborne 2, then I will” - Lies of P, probably
I’m a bit concerned about the AI of the enemies. A lot of them look too braindead and get staggered so quickly no matter their size. Half the combat scenes shown was Pinocchio doing some long winded flashy moves and the enemies just sit there and let it happen
I find the basic enemies are too braindead and easy to stagger and combo, but anything bigger (or straight up a boss) attacks too frequently and I don't have enough range or enough time to even get any hits in
A lot of the smaller enemies are just like Ds3 spam, and you can kill them very easily. But, the bigger enemies you're meant to parry. Another important thing is that you're supposed to parry most attacks in this game. The boss ai is pretty good. The bigger enemies have decent ai, but the smaller ones kinda have braindead ai.
They legit tried to make Bloodborne 2 and fuse it with Pinocchio. I'm down.
I was worried the impact could suck but it bangs, a bloodborne fan got tied of waiting for a remaster at 60fps so they made their own
I can't wait for the DLC, Lies of P : The Old Puppet Edition
well my god this looks hype, suddenly this catches my attention and now im wondering if it's gonna live up to it in the future, hopefully
When my friends told me that a "Pinocchio Souls-like" was a thing, I didn't believe them. Now I'm a believer.
I really love the weapon customization you get later. The handles have the move sets while the blades give it different types like slash/blunt ect
I really don't get how americans can look at Paris 1920 and confuse it with a ghotic victorian looking London.
So next, folks will assume Gotham city is like Bloodborne simply because it's nightime and it's a city. Even though the architectures are nothing alike. So weird.
Man, after getting the plat and playing this game several times it's fun to go back and see these reveals. So much UI and overall changes that happened for the better. So cool, this game definitely is worth every penny and play time!
*Also this game just looks so clean and I just can’t wait for this game to finally drop!* 💪🏽
Wondering if you'll be able to understand the robot language after completing the game and then go back for a second playthrough and hear what all the enemies are saying.
Wonder if they'll have characters that reference the other children storybooks. Like red riding hood or even Alice.
At least meet a mother goose character that's sweet and paternal
Hell if this is polished well then it could certainly live to the hype, might even become goty contender
This looks actually amazing
Yo this game looks super sick.
One thing I caught too. I love the fact, even though they're "robots" they call them puppets the whole time. That's so sick. I love when Pinocchio dies too and you hear the little gears clicking in him when he falls down. I said too this game is gonna sound amazing too. Hearing all the gears and clock type sounds from the enemies and world around you. This game is showing very good promise. I'm super excited
He was so on the money when he say your nose become the end game weapon
Free Stock sound effects exists, pretty sure there is no much problem with those
Since this is a Pinnochio story and all, I wonder if they're going to have a giant whale boss fight
Pinocchio himself is really cute, that's gonna sell some copies.
What if the twist is, that we are not Pinocchio, but another "boy" Gepetto build, to kill THE Pinocchio, who goes crazy or something. He is the endboss
I’m too excited for this game I want to play it right now but I have some concerns like I hope Gemini won’t be TOO annoying and I feel like they could increase Pinocchio’s walk speed a bit. His walk/run animation looks a bit off like maybe it too stiff? (Maybe they intended that way cuz he’s a puppet)
Actually looking forward to this more than wukong. They've presented the combat and systems better. This game will be the biggest surprise hit of the year in 2023 is what I'm thinking. I wonder if the coffin and the 4 dudes at the end are a hint of invasion type stuff.
100% agree, this game will be a huge hit.
There's no multiplayer element to this game. Confirmed in an interview
Max's reaction to this was great. "At what point do lawsuits come in."
Looks real good. Hopefully it holds up. I'll keep my eye out
7:24 this weapon reminds me so much of the ludwig holy blade
'They're not even being apologetic about it' -Max ;P
I see katana, I equip it. Simple. I need this game.
Combining the weapons seems cool.
How crazy it is that we have two Pinocchio movies and a game this year
As they say, Imitation is the best form of Flattery. Also *YES* to Sekiro style parrying in a Soulslike game.
I love it, forreal the Likeness to another great games but with its own uniqueness Amazing
I was waiting for this PC port of Bloodborne
Damn this looks sick
To tide yourself over until this releases, why not play Steel Rising? It’s a Souls-like set in Revolutionary France, where robots controlled by the king suppress the resistance. You play Aegis, the robot bodyguard of Marie Antoinette, who sends you to Paris to find out what is happening.
That one looked really rough.
@@bruhder5854 sadly I agree about Steel Rising, the animations (while they should look robotic given the main character) comes off a little weird looking, I hope it plays better in person than it looked in trailers, might wait to see given the price.
I got Thymesia when it was on sale and have been having a blast, has a few great bosses and pretty polished gameplay, no idea how long it is but I find myself feeling genuine pity for the game when (obviously) Lies of P as well as Steelrising appear to have the budget (environment + VA) to overshadow it.
I hope people don't go into this expecting it to be as crisp as a later fromsoft title. I would hate for the game to get heaps of hate if it comes up short in a couple aspects.
from what I've been seeing at gamescom it actually looks way better than a fromsoft title so my expectations are kind of sky high atm.
@@Zangelin How does it look better when it's basically a 1 to 1 rip off of Bloodborne
@@fgcaceninja at least it's not a direct "inspiration" of the dark souls series I mean that shit has been overdone by plenty of developers for quite a long time.
From the trailers this game actually looks BETTER than FromSoftware's games, specially when it comes to animation and graphics, which is insane considering that there are dozens of good 'souls-likes' and none of them had the same level. If this game succeeds and gets enough attention I'd sincerely hope that the devs continue doing more stuff like this. Now we have to wait for the gameplay trailer of the new Lords of the Fallen game because a CGI trailer is cool and all but it doesn't show confidence like Lies of P does, at least they plan to have full co-op and pvp whereas Lies of P is fully single player.
@@gsczo Can't say it looks BETTER than Fromsoft titles but I'm at least willing to try it considering it's not a Fromsoft titles. I don't tend to enjoy Souls-like games but I love Dark Souls, ya know?
Timothee Chalamet's Woodborne is looking pretty good.
This and Black Myth Wukong...are the sole reasons to spend so much time to find a PS5 right now.
Why? Neither are exclusives and both are new games by "new" developers so best to approach with some level of skepticism.
P. S just checked both are also coming on the last gen consoles as well.
@@bruhder5854 oh...OK, then my PS4 will still be fine then!!
This game looks great. I just hope the gameplay won't be as quiet as it showed here. A little background sounds wud be appreciated. Same as music during bossfights
Ever wondered in what kind of world we awake after surviving the Hunt in Bloodborne? Now you have your answer
I don't know. How else do humans open heavy doors?
Anyone keep the "stargazer activated" hinting at the song "when you wish upon a star..."
At 5:08 the subtitle reads "Please accept my way up same thanks." Hopefully these kind of mistakes aren't abundant in the final build.
Of course they won't, considering they already have a proper translation (script that voice actors have to read) so you don't have to worry about MTL placeholders :P
That mother saying "yes it is my baby" was the most soulless voice acting I've ever heard...
Yeah, weird that they thought that was worthy of showcasing in a trailer.
She might literally be soulless for all we know. A robot less advanced than Pinocchio, without any emotions. A puppet, as the hotel doorman put it.
@@NeoSaturos123 good point!
The animations of the bosses look fantastic.
Is this basically Bloodborne with Pinocchio?
[ Yes, it totally is ] [ No, it's completely different ]
Yes and no, at the same time
That strong "Corvo Attano" and Dishonored , OHHHHHHH MANGASMS
1:35 Knowing fromsoft the 'Dung' was a stock sound lol
Between the 2 movies and now this, it feels like Pinocchio is one of the biggest things going today.
This game is a combo of Bioshock x Bloodborne x Dishonored, I dig it!
I don't even care if it shares a lot of similarities with BB and other FromSoft games, it looks visually great and seems to offer a lot of unique mechanics and weapons to make it feel like a distinct experience. It's definitely my most anticipated new IP for 2023.
Oh my god, I might've been right in assuming that this might be some time if not years after he became human with how Gemini questions him about not being the same Gemini.
I swear everytime I see this game I wanna play it so badly, even though I’ve never touched a Soulsborne and would get my ass kicked in 😅
I just love the concept of taking a well known story and twisting in insane and Clever ways. Already a big fan of the American McGee Alice games for that very reason, and this is shaping up to be something I’ll love just as much.
Every time I think about this concept I always wonder about the possibilities of this whole concept with well known stories, specifically in games I should add. This and the Alice games pay a lot of respect to their original versions while also creating something new from it. The only other game that comes to mind at the moment that does this for a singular story was sadly cancelled, and funny enough it was being made by American McGee too, it was his take on the Wizard of Oz. Basically making it a war setting in the magical land between all the various creatures and such.
But yeah, this game is looking phenomenal. The first time I may actually pick up a Soulsborne and that is both exciting and terrifying to me.
I can't believe it took Max till now to figure out that this was PinocchioBorne.
Weird robot language? Game kinda looks like Nier Automata? What, so is there a New Game Plus mode where it's all translated and half of them are like "Why is this doll attacking us? I just wanted some tea and he's trying to kill me!"
Miyazaki at the printing shop with all those them lawsuit documents
I actually didn't remember the thing about Pinocchio and lying either :D
Setting is cool, they already have many boss and weapon types ready, it's post apocalypse Yharnam and you can lie about everything! On the minus side, I think the game could look a bit more polished (it literally seems rather angular), there's a mistake in the subs, stamina consumption also seems to have some issues, etc. Still, got my hopes up for this!
sure hope the localization team is still working on it because the dialogue text and names still read like it was run through Google Translate from Korean.
3:03 THE FUCKING STAKE DRIVER, "Deus X Makina"
That damn parry!!!
Are we all just used to hearing soul calibre in the background of everything at this point.😂😂😂# Welcome to the stage of history#
I loved BB, If this is how I get more, cool. If it sells gangbusters, maybe From circles back and they give us 2!
Curious but I'll wait till its out and then see for myself.
I need this in my life like right NOW!!
6:15 Then they also took Rajang's pin animation.
I can just imagine that chat went
LYING Pog
I cant wait man
Bioshock series and Bloodborne are my favourite games..I will play 350hrs on two saves, but I hope build variety will be plentiful.
2:43 this looks like the Weapon from kings avatar LUL
I believe it's been reported that the way the Lie/Truth (Puppet/Human) system works is that the more you tell the truth, the more human you'll become, but the less access you'll have to your more puppet-based abilities.
However, the more you lie, the more access you'll have to your puppet-based abilities. I'm sure there's more positive story-based stuff on the human side of things if you decide to choose that path.
Regardless, game looks awesome!
I think you got it the other way around...at the door, after he said he's "human" the voice on the other side said "puppets don't lie"
As someone who is a little tired of souls games and has a phobia of puppets I'm actually excited
Max, idk if you ever played the wild arms series, but the creators of wild arms and shadow hearts is making a new game being the successor of wild arms called "Arms of fantasia" you should look into it
