Hearing Max talk about how traumatizing Gremlins was and I’m thinking “if Gizmo caused him to have this kind of flashback, memories will come back when Stripe joins the roster?”
Stripe is terrifying, but how would Max react if Stripe's echo fighter turned out to be the Brain Gremlin?
Especially if stripe has a movie reference ability that turns him into the spider form from gremlins 2 🤣

I watched Gremlins over the weekend, really fun movie in the vein of cheesy horror flicks. I can see why a lot of kids would find it creepy, its one of the reasons the PG-13 rating exists now.
He will no doubt mention his death scene from the movie.
By the way, the other characters can ride Gizmo's car. Each one has a driving animation, some of them being hilarious. lol

Gizmo certainly is a zoner, from what I experienced, if he gets trapped between the opposing players, he's basically a sitting duck
You escape by hopping on your team mate with up special. He is the yuumi of the game.
Gremlins 2 was super ahead of its time, a hilarious meta movie about satire which has aged wonderfully.

@@ember_falls basically, in the movie theyre trapped in a big tv production studio where theyre trying to keep the gremlins from getting out and taking over the city. It pokes fun at the original movie as well as various film/tv tropes. A big part of the movie as well is the gremlins infiltrating different tv shows that are being produced there. And they even even predict the idea that tv was gonna have a bunch of different niche channels for cooking and stuff even before that became a big thing
The film even poked fun at the critical reception of the first movie (which was negative at the time) by having a scene where Leonard Maltan plays himself on a fiction show called Film Police where he’s reviewing the first movie (he didn’t like it) and then the gremlins come out of nowhere and attack him. They also have a scene where the gremlins literally destroy the actual Gremlins 2 film and it cuts to a cinema that’s showing the movie and a parent complaining about how horrible it is whilst her child just begs her to go back and finish watching the movie
Seeing gizmo in this game brings back fond memories of the 80s and watching gremlins,this is a definite throwback.

Dear God I didn't expect this. Loved the movies (Yes even 2, probably the most 80s thing that decade ever produced) and even had the Furby toy of Gizmo. Absolutely love this announcement and a great indication of what could be coming next from this.
To me this is the same as The Joker trailer for Smash. Definitely unexpected but very welcome.
Gremlins 2 is so unabashedly 80's and I love it.

I mean, you got Gremlins on the loading screen for the game, I just didn't think they'd apparently want to add both Gizmo and Stripe. Guess Rick might've hit some delay and Gandalf and Legolas could potentially be canceled, so had to put someone it.
Gremlins 2 is 1990, so just misses out on being 80s

Here’s what u gotta try to do hit the forward air and learn how to float with him to land either another foward air or sair and when they’re on the ground car ur primary kill option will be up special if u can catch them high I’m top 10k gizmo so far
That’s just the aggressive play style if u can try to set things up incase they try to space u

Watching Max drive the car over the ledge with his partner with him had me rolling.

Back in the 80's when everything was new. The word Cheesy for movies wasn't even a thing. The whole world seemed different. Being a kid watching "Gremlins was terrifying 😅

I was born in 2002, so I didn't watch it when it came out, but I did still watch this when I was maybe 6 or 7, and all I can say was I adored the movie, it weirdly wasn't scary but that was probably cause I watched a ton of movies I shouldn't have, this and AI:artificial intelligence both made me wish my heart out for a little best friend, probably because I was also anti social and didn't have any real friends lmao. But seeing Gizmo in this game absolutely warms my heart, I just wish it was available on switch cause that's all I got😭😭😭😭😭
It's hard cause he's a zoner in a game where people rush you down, so you have to be good up close as well as from far. It'll take practice but Gizmo has huge potential. He very much reminds me of Morty and I have to say theyre my favorite characters to play as so far.
Morty’s attacks though are incredibly strong, especially if you get him that Hammer Morty special which allows him to spin attack

Pink Corvette is from 1 (Gizmo drove it through the Department Store ), Fire Arrow is from 2, ( he destroyed the "Arachnogremlin" with it ).
Me and Max had the same experience with gremlins, Stripes death in the first movie have me nightmares as a kid. Gremlins 2 fixed my fear cause of how funny it was,( love Gremlins 2 by the way) but for awhile, I wouldn't come back to the first movie. Man, good times😂

I like characters that have lingering stuff that can be used later. A lot of people use them right away and it is readable as hell but when you can manage your normal stuff and throw the lingering item or move in at the right moment, it is satisfying as hell and crazy rewarding. Samus and DK in Smash have their charge moves that can be stored in a simular way.
@ 8:18 Yes you are Max. An' if your partner were doing "a couple of things" like using Wonder Woman's Armor Up/Teleport, it could have been a lot easier because that move removes all debuffs as well! :)

I loved Gremlins even more after watching The New Batch! To see Gizmo in Multiverse put a smile on my face!
I was never allowed to watch this movie as a little kid and I never understood why. I thought it was a cute little family picture. Seeing it now, I know fully that had I watched it then, I probably would have been too scared to finish it.
But its a fun movie! Definitely a movie that could have only been made in the 80s with how it pushes that PG rating lol
at a buffet, i personally sneak corndogs into the buffet so others can enjoy them. I hide 6 corndogs in my jacket pockets. it then, is a joy for me to see other patrons of the establishment eat my corndogs thinking they were part of the buffe

Morty was not in the free rotation... and from what I experienced... Morty is very gimmicky. That UFO of his that comes up from the bottom of the screen can really screw with people who don't jump off of it fast enough... even the player playing as Morty and their teammate

I like what WB is doing here... they definitely should continue branching into new movies like this rather than continue with current franchise characters. Ace Ventura, Beetlejuice, Lord of the Rings, TMNT, Matrix, Mad Max, Animaniacs, Harry Potter... lots of directional choices
Gremlins is one of my childhood favorites. The only thing that creeped me out back in the day was Child's Play. Screw Chucky, for realz.

Unfortunately I didn't grew up with Gremlins. So no nostalgia towards it for me. I watched the movies recently and i'm a fan now. Gremlins 3 better be amazing. Since the first movie good and Gremlins 2 was even better.

What Max stated at the end is exactly why I am not playing mutiversus right now, all the characters they have released are super underwhelming even after buffs (morty and LeBron) meanwhile they still have shaggy who is quick can doge cancel out of everything pretty much and has kill potential in literally every attack, there idea of balance is just garbage 😢. All the new characters take huge set ups and combos to kill meanwhile bugg’s can spam his projectile kit and up air it’s just not fun right now.

I feel like this game has an identity crisis. It wants to be accessible to everyone between the free-to-play model and broad IP span, but its systems are _very_ uninviting. So many characters have moves overly complicated with loads of cooldowns, ammo counts, buffs, debuffs, interactions, and variations.
It’s very overwhelming, especially considering the game’s intended to be played 2v2. There’s way too much crap to track, and worst of all, trying to play with simpler characters just fully reveals the cracks in the core gameplay.
Hmmm, I dunno. I feel like for casual gameplay if you get a feel for your favorite character's basic up/down/side attacks, and maybe one or two of the specials that fit really well, you can do just fine in random 2s matches. They have to add complexity to support/mage type characters to make them interesting, or else we'd have a wide roster with no depth. But you can do well enough if you get the basic mechanics down that I don't think fully knowing all of the interactions is really required.
