- One of the best performances, in my opinion, of this two great rappers of our days, Eminem and Jay Z, together.

This shows the levels between Eminem and Jay-Z as performers. Em on another planet.
Nah. Jay did more stabs and ad-libs. Em focused on his verses. That was not really reciprocated. I would argue Jay is the better “performer” here.
I always thought em killed Jay on this. I mean that first verse alone is mind-blowingly technical - but still telling a story. It’s arguably the best verse of his career.
BUT as I grow older and look at Jays verse closely…
This was a song with em and Royce. Initially. Jay had time to put his best foot forward (as he had Em’s verses before he started) and I think he did if you read along and pay attention.
Jay not only mimicked the “ooo” sound in his first verse - but his rhyme scheme and story telling are great.
He just doesn’t spoon feed it to the listener. Some of his bars and rhymes spill over to the next line. It’s not as 1,2,3 as ems - but if you READ jays verse - it really is powerful and really technical. It just doesn’t always end up where you would usually expect it. Which I think is far more artistic, now.
Again - Ems verses are insane - but I don’t think it’s as much of a landslide as people think upon listening intently and maturely.
Still - two Goats. In their own regard.

Jay is good, maybe better somethimes in other songs, however here!!! Em did make J look average. Em did everything clean, clear, perfect and with ease. It's tough to make it this good and deliver with ease and perfection the way Em does here. It looks simpe although it's not. J just trying hard with lotta effort but still can't meet Em's level.

In all genres there are those who can perform and work being totally wasted and those who cant.

Went to one of eminems show's 3 years ago and the guy took all of his best songs live for 2 hours streight. Changed shirts 3 times cuz he was sweating so much doing it. Every song was perfect and the dude was like 45 then and performed like a champ.

Idk man, the Collision Course EP of Linkin Park and JayZ may hold that title, and I'm not a huge fan of JayZ. Prior to that, there wasn't ever a successful crossover of those types of genres. It really laid the foundation on how hiphop and rock/metal can fuse.

Very late response, but even Em runs out of breath on a big stage, this stage is so small, they're almost standing in one place so it's easy to control their breath as opposed to large stadiums.

Bad crowds are uncomfortable even if they’re just bobbing their head. Shits weird, have a good time or gtfo. I legit used to tell the crowd that before my set, and it created a dope atmosphere. Anyways Eminem knew to just get louder, and that’s what made jay comfortable after his first verse. It’s good partnership.
