- This Rare machine is a Skoda 130RS and was once referred to as the "Porsche of the Est" thanks to its Rear-Engined, Rear Wheel Drive layout. Powered by a 1.3L Naturally Aspirated, 4 cylinder motor using Twin Weber Carburettors, it is capable of 190Hp/8.500Rpm to move only 825Kg.
This one is driven by Jiri Kubicek and on Gorjanci Hillclimb it was faster than a lot of more modern machinary, all while being the fastest Classic Car present at the event.
More cars like this, please and thank you!
Agreed!
You know the car is amazing when you can still hear the intake noise from the rear
Ive seen one of these with a 200hp all steel mass x flow fitted, all space framed, very very fast. ...nice job
Never seen anything like that before but I'm in Australia. We never had Skoda until early 90s I think. Closest to that would be a Simca 😁
In the 60s and 70s we had some brought in to Australia but they weren't extremely popular. I've got a 1976 s110 sedan that was sold new in Australia.
190hp from 1.3 n/a ??
and it rev "only" 8.5k rpm?
it has power more than hayabusa..
that's crazy..
😨
Olla Patricia that's well spotted !
🥃🤘🏻🎩🤘🏻🏁🇮🇲
Skoda-Simply clever.
thats old racing engine
There is no way this engine has 190 hp, i'd say max 140-150, if it still has the original OHV 1.3. Either that, or it revs way way higher than 8500 rpm.
Maybe max tuned,so its not imposible 190 Hp if have 100Hp in 7250 Rpm stock engine..but on one page i see detail info about this car and have around 95Kw max power.

More about this great car!
See?Czech old cars are great too:)
I recomend Skoda 130RS or Rapid easy rapair and in Rapid have great handling:)
👍👍👍👍👍
Geez, seems to be on rails
Tiny beast!
What a fucking sick car
These are what the Hillman Imp/ Sunbeam Stiletto should of evolved into. Having the extra 300 cc makes a world of differance when it comes to ease of driving. Though in race trim a imp can give 120 bhp@ around 8500rpm from 1000cc.
For the Skoda to give 190 bhp it will be 1.6 Ltrs with the works x-flow head and every thing else that goes with it, 45mm Webbers etc. Even then thats a lot. The works group B cars gave an honest 130 hp.
I've been lucky enough to have dyno'd a few over the years
Sweet handling car
Yes🎉🎉🎉
190Hp from a 1.3? Wow! On other note, what is it with lots of companys using the RS badge? To me RS means Ford :p
Marcelo Cruz well, as you said ... For you.
I didn't mean to sound like an idiot. Sorry if that's what it sounded like. I'm just more of a classic Ford guy so it just pops in my mind when I see those two letters. Btw, does RS mean something for Skoda? For example, for Ford it means Rallye Sport (I think).
145 hú in 1974
@@marcelocruz1361 SKODA used RS before east block collapsed so after confrontation with FORD factory they are using now terminology VRS.
You don't see many of them
Bcease its rare in my country.
škodas do not exist any more, just the badge
