The Derwent Drawing set is just such a unique set of pencils, there is not another set of pencils on the market anywhere like them. The palette is exquisite and the core of the pencil is gorgeous to lay down. Thank you so much
@@TheArtGearGuide I agree. Already own the 150 Holbein, 120 Fabercastell, 40 Pablo Caran dache, few Luminance & Lyra Rembrandt. But I really want that set. Anyways
Happy Holidays. Always enjoy seeing your recommendations for Christmas. I've not been around much this year. Due to just a really bad year for us here. I know it's been bad for everyone. My Granny of 92 years old broke her femur bone & 2 major heart attacks. All in a 2-month span of time. just as Covic hit. Luckily she was at the Dr.'s office with the last one or we would have 4 sure lost her. Just b4 that we had a really bad Tornado that Killed many family's & Trump came & called in the National Guard & called it a Disaster zone. Then I had an 8m Kidney stone. And with having Lupas could not get into surgery for 2 months. So was on extra strong pain meds. These are just the tip of the iceberg. But don't want to be a downer. Also don't usually like to sound negative. So it seems to have finally been calming here for about a month in a half. Just hope it stays that way. Would like to have my time back to watch more videos like I used to. Really miss them. And miss sitting down to create more as well. Sorry about the long comment. Just didn't want you to think I disappeared or stopped watching. Your one of my Fav.s I hope things are well for you & yours on your side of the pond. Look forward to watching more. TYFS
Thank you soo much for this Harry! Fantastic, comprehensive video, and gorgeous videography. The time you have spent on these lists is so appreciated ☺️☺️
I own the Arrtx skin tones and love them. A few of the colors are very comparable to Copics. I do wish they had the brush tips though. But for the price they're amazing.
I can’t say too much mate publicly yet but you are correct about how beautiful the Arrtx markers are and how wonderful “Brush Tip” markers from them would be. I think you can guess my not so cryptic reply 😂🤣
Fantastic video Harry, i wait after this video every Year because i always found the great gifts at a cheaper prizes to offered to my love ones so Thank You so very much for your time doing theis excellent video and for all of ther links below, you are so kind and i really appreciated everythings yoiu do Harry for us. xx
Great list, I made my husband look at it, too, so he knows what's up 😁 I have already been wanting Derwent Drawing, too, I have just one pencil of that series at the moment, but I am super impressed and I love it.
Great list, thank you for sharing, I have Derwent drawing, and I love them. I also have Giotto, but Stilnovo and they are amazing, great pencils, very compatible with Polychromous in therms of finish.
Perfect timing for Black Friday and Cyber Monday Amazon weekend. Many of the items will go on sale at phenomenal prices. I often purchase the Castle Art set for my colorist friends and family. Got a chuckle on the durability of the Derwent sharpener as long as it’s not dropped from great heights 😂. Thank you for another enjoyable review.
Brutfuner pencils too i believe the 200 count set is a dupe to Prisma good for beginners like the reviews said especially for graphic character sketches, for realism you have to use your skills in order to produce a decent pigment flow
I have this and find it is no good for delicate or decent coloured pencils due to the inserts being so floppy. I now use it for my Kuretake Zigs, and other more ‘hardy’ art supplies that won’t get their tips broke off!
I have a couple of those and didn't know what they were for. The little al u min i um thing I have. Here it's just a lu min um though. 🤣 Thanks for your lists. 💞
I have the Pablo and the luminance I really like the Pablo’s and I hear a lot of others that do too. I absolutely love these lists. Unfortunately We can’t get all of these items in the US aka America.
I love the super point sharpener except the clap is not angled or a rubber material. It's a slippery foam that flexs and angles in a way that releases the sharpener. Second, the shavings draw doesnt have anything holding it in. This matters because the clamp problem leads me to use it handheld. Still great though. Just wouldn't mind a revision.
Hi! unless they changed the design considerable, the problem with the Derwent long point sharpener is that it crunches a bite mark into the pencil at about 1/2" up from the end, where it is gripped by ratchet-y holders. the Mitsubishi KH-20 is soooo much nicer because it has gentle rounded holders, that do not make a bite mark in your pencil. and I think it was cheaper too. my friend Tina Koyama does some awesome reviews on her site: www.wellappointeddesk.com/tag/sharpener/
Hannah in the New Year with the money I make from my Patreon Account I am sending a 60 Set of Faber Castell Classic Red Colored Pencils to young artists and artists who just simply can't afford things at the minute. They are a cheap set of pencils but they are really good I reviewed them not that long ago. I am sending 2 sets every month to different artists, However, if you are under 18 all I would ask is that you please make sure your parents or guardians or whoever cares for you, that they know who I am and what I am doing. I don't want anyone under 18 just handing out their home address to me without their parent or carers knowing. I know you guys watching my on RUclips but I am still a stranger and you always need to make sure that if you are handing out your personal details you are doing so safely and with your parents knowledge and permission, it is so important that you don't put yourself in danger. The Internet is a wonderful place but it can be a bit scary. I have three children and I try to make sure they follow the same rules. I have already one other person to send the set to in Jan 21 and you are the second. So I have written your RUclips name down. my email address is theartgearguide@gmail.com. If you are under 18 please talk to your parents and if they have any questions they would like to ask me before I send them to you, they are more than welcome to do so. I just want all the young artists who follow me on RUclips to always act responsibly and do the right thing. talk to you soon and kindest regards
I had the Pitt markers from Faber Castell and I can’t recommend them. Even stored flat they didn’t last and dried up. Having invested quite a bit in those it was disappointing. I wonder how the Arteza brush markers are?
No Koh-i-Noors in there! :((( In all seriousness, I'd love to know your opinion on the Kuretake paints; personally I found them quite overhyped. The colours seem off- the Yellow Ochre is no true Yellow Ochre, etc etc... No pigment information and they also stain my mixing palettes, which makes me suspicious if they use strong inks instead of the pigments you'd expect. They also look weirdly glossy when applied thickly. [Edit: another con! Excluding the additions of white and black, you're limited to mixing two colors max or else mixtures get muddy. Hope I'm making sense, English isn't my mother tongue] Love your dedication on this channel!
The Kuretake paints are being marketed as watercolors outside Japan, and they are not real watercolors. Historically these paints were meant to be used as sketching paints for post-card arts. But the hype for japanese stationery has made them very famous. I hate them, really. Will stick to my Sennelier and Schmincke watercolors.
Setting them side by side with other Watercolor sets, some of the colors are a little different, but I have found this to be the case with most art supplies. You can take Yellow Ochre from the Luminance, Derwent Lightfast, Polychromos and Prismacolor and they will all produce slightly different tones. I personally love the Kuretake Watercolours and as Samuel mentions, in Japan they are sold for a different purpose, but again, in Japan we are fortunate enough to get many of the amazing art supplies produced from this beautiful country but we don’t use all of them in the way the Japanese company specifically designed them for. I’ll be up loading my own personal review of the Kuretake watercolours soon and I will add a few other Watercolor comparisons for you. Also I have another list to upload and it has Koh-I-Noor products on it, I’d never forget Koh-I-Noor love them too much. It’s just doing four videos and four written reviews in a few days takes it out of you and I was just too tired to finish this final list but it will be up in the next day or so.
@@TheArtGearGuide I see what you mean about the Kuretake paints. I have to admit, they're gorgeously packaged and these big pans are fun to use. Great, can't wait for the Koh-i-Noor video!! Again, love your dedication to the channel
Just a suggestion but why don't you do colored pencil book reviews in addition to the pencils? I'm trying to learn colored pencils and it would be helpful to know what drawing books are out there and what are good for newbies for learning. Mark
They are warning people about that in the States. They say if you see something buy it because by Black Friday it could be gone due to a shortness in supplies.
Love the pencil drawers! I put a finish on them and they are beautiful. The pencils stay organized and easy to see. Love your videos. Very well done.
Yeah Harry, I’ve been stalking for this, off to view your other lists. Well done, thanks for all you do for us!
For me, if I did not have LOTS of supplies I would've bought the whole Derwent Drawing set. I own a single pencil of that set & I love it.
