One thing that I’ve noticed about Stevie is that whenever he played with one of his heroes, his playing would change to match theirs. Watch the session he did with Albert King and Stevie is pulling out every Albert King lick he knows. Just as here, he’s playing more like Buddy Guy than he usually did. I think it was Stevie’s way of showing respect and saying “See? I’ve studied you!” to his heroes.
I agree. You see it a lot with up and coming guitarists. Lots of solo skill is dependent on vocabulary building, and there's no way to build vocabulary like taking riffs from musicians you like. Just look at Mayer, when he played with BB and Buddy Guy he did the same shit. It's nice to see.
Keep in mind that the "thumbs-down" are only from heartbroken people knowing that this collaboration can't be repeated. Valuable footage. Put it on a golden record and send out to space.
So sad to think about. I’m so lucky that I got to see SRV, Jeff Healey, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Johnny Winter, Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, and so many more before they passed.
Guitar was ON FIRE the second it touched his nimble fingers. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video and am so glad you found this gem. SRV is SMOKIN' HOT!!!!
jehovahuponyou How do you know that? Buddy was playing it, and it looks and sounds like it's got lace sensor pick ups in it which was what Buddy was using at this point.
jehovahuponyou I know he was Stevie's guitar tech, and that he also worked for John Mayor at some point. And you don't have write in all caps and use profanity on here. Also, I don't really see how this anwers my previous question.
i love Buddy Guy been at alot of his shows He plays so great and has fun while he plays for the crowd .And Stevie Ray i never got to c him but he sounds awsome .Love the Blues keepon playing 😌
In my opinion the very best of these two fine artists. I've listened to the recordings of this special event hundreds of times and gave up hope of ever finding video footage of this. Thank you so much for uploading this.
:) Epic!, two of the legends sharing their heart and communicating with their souls. Awe man this is some great footage!! :) I hope someone has more footage like please.
Word!! Beat way to wake up , i have the recording in audio will hace to listen to it now. Wow like post one says I hope it was all caught on tape.. Now the quality is HD almost I wonder is they figured out time traveling.. This would be one of the first times I would go to as well haha
Pucker up buttercup..the legend Stevie Ray Vaughan is moving in and that's dat..hear my Guitar singing and my fingers weaving..that's right! R you with me..COOL
SRV entro con ganas de calentar sus dedos...volando en sus escalas...lpm Buddy un caballero de la musica como siempre ....genios...genios...habria que preguntrle a Buddy que recuerdo tiene de SRV pero en los momentos tras escenarios no??
There's been video footage of this show for all this time?!?!?! For the love of God and all that is holy please release the rest if there is more. Please!
Yeah same feelings I had upon seeing this... makes you wonder what else is out there hiding in a box in the back of someone's closet... I wonder if the video board from Stevie's last show is still out there somewhere, though Clapton denies any knowledge of what happened to it.
30 And Hating It I would put money on Jimmie Vaughan having it. Can't even imagine him ever going back and watching any of the footage from the two shows. Too emotional!
Who has all the videos of this show, which is completely without any problems available on audio? If there is this part, then definitely there is a video of the whole show!)They complement one another perfectly. Makes me smile right till the end.
Wicked... Stevie is the MAN! If this is the same show that the soundboard tape is from, it would be nice to see someone sync the video up with the soundboard recording. Maybe I'll do it if I get the time in the next few weeks.
I went there that night but got there much too late. We listened from the back door and got a few pics of Stevie and Chris Layton coming out. Got to shake his hand. Some photos here: www.flickr.com/search/?user_id=39346808%40N06&sort=date-taken-desc&text=stevierayvaughn&view_all=1
Wow is all I can say!!!!! I've heard that this was video taped from a few people, even saw a couple grainy photos from said video. But I never thought any of this would see the light of day! Please tell me the whole thing was recorded!!?
I have a minute or so from this recording on video, but without audio ..... Stevie is singing and also Buddy Guy too, so I'm sure there's more. Let's see what happen.
SnowRider269 that's the audio. The full video still hasn't surfaced. Just the two clips this account posted. I know there's more, I've seen pictures from the video clip "srvguitarlegend" mentioned and he posted that clip to his channel. The whole thing needs to be posted!

also keep in mind he is playing through buddy's rig and his guitar, so his tone is the same.
@@brandonterzic I’m not talking about the tone, I’m talking about his playing.
Kevy Nova yeah i know... but the tone influences the playing.
Keep in mind that the "thumbs-down" are only from heartbroken people knowing that this collaboration can't be repeated.

I can not understand the thumbs down. Why do they listen to that music?
I have used a magic spell to remove all thumbs down
I hacked both your phones, you'll never see a thumbs down on RUclips ever again
When you think about it, Buddy Guy is pretty much the last man standing at this point.
Yeah man, Clapton's hands wont even let him play anymore. It's just Buddy now.
So sad to think about. I’m so lucky that I got to see SRV, Jeff Healey, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Johnny Winter, Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, and so many more before they passed.
@@30AndHatingIt nobody cares about clapton.
Jimmie vaughan
I was at that show!!!!!!
Probably one of the best of my life.

Man, I had goose bumps the whole time watching it and probably held my breath too.

The look on Buddys face at Stevies first riff was great.
Man, do I miss this guy....
You know you're a cool cat when Buddy Guy lends you a guitar for a jam session!
kassemir IT WAS STEVIE'S GUITAR - BUDDY JUST HANDED IT TO HIM.
jehovahuponyou
How do you know that? Buddy was playing it, and it looks and sounds like it's got lace sensor pick ups in it which was what Buddy was using at this point.
kassemir I KNOW BECAUSE OF Rene Martinez - GOOGLE HIM, BITCH, OTHER WISE YOU'LL NEVER KNOW WHO HE IS.
jehovahuponyou
I know he was Stevie's guitar tech, and that he also worked for John Mayor at some point. And you don't have write in all caps and use profanity on here. Also, I don't really see how this anwers my previous question.
