Naked Bismuth is about a scene in the "Bismuth" special episode (during her sparring match with the Crystal Gems) where the animation team accidentally colored Bismuth's pants with Bismuth's skin tone. As a result, for a few moments when she speaks to Pearl, it looks like Bismuth is wearing nothing else besides her apron, haha.
Cheeseburger Tree is an inside joke between Rebecca Sugar and, I believe, a writer about a scrapped story plan where Lars and the Off-Colors hear about this planet with a tree that grows cheeseburgers, so they go on a mission to find it. Rebecca Sugar didn't like the idea or they ended up just not going forward with it, but the writer would always jokingly bring it up to her, so it became a joke between them.
I believe this is from one of the art books. I first heard about it in one of AwestruckVox/The Roundtable's videos that released after the series's finale.

Rebecca had no real experience with a production this big so she flopped in many places when it came to management, the art part included
@@rompevuevitos222that's an unfounded rumor, rebecca had worked on adventure time and they were working with CN. The only difference is that they allowed each storyboard artist to keep their personal touches. The show isn't even poorly animated, just inconsistent.
The "Who sings Escapism" is a reference to how Sugar sang the song to the public months before the episode was released, but didn't reveal which character would sing it, so the fandom began trying to guess who the singer would be. Common guesses included Lapis Lazuli and Pink Diamond.
The person who posted the leak about Lars' death was Zach Callison, the voice of Steven, but he quickly deleted it. He probably thought it was okay to share it, but then Cartoon Network called him and told him to take it down.
The "Gregmethyst" one might be a reference to that moment where Amethyst says she saw Greg's junk before (she was referring to Greg's trash, but "junk" is also a slang for penis, so people started joking around that this meant Greg an Amethyst had sex).
The Pink Diamond hot topic T-shirt did reveal Pink Diamond's design before it was in the show, but only her legs. When the shirt was released, we had only seen her upper body and didn't know what her legs looked like.
"Blue Diamond dark hair" might be a reference to Blue Diamond's mural in the moon base having dark hair, so everyone thought her actual design would have dark hair.
For a second I thought the "Delmarva-verse" was a reference to how several Cartoon Network shows take place in locations that are based in the same real world places (Steven Universe, OK K.O., Craig of the Creek) and people jokingly say that they take place in the same universe, but when I went to check, the meme is actually called the "Marylandverse", so this is probably referring to something else.
"It's not an outburst dropbeat" is a reference to how the audio for that scene was leaked before the episode came out, but whoever leaked it decided to add some techno music playing in the background, probably to trick the website's detection so it would be taken down.
"Barn'd" might be a reference to an old joke in the fandom that whenever a character was no longer useful to the plot, they would get barn'd (meaning they would go live in the barn and be kept out of the story).
"Naked Bismuth" is a reference to the scene where she poof Lapis during the flashback (I believe it was in the episode Same Old World, but I might be misremembering it). You can't see bismuth's clothes in the scene, probably because they didn't want to fully reveal her design until she got her won episode.
"Young Steven holding Spinel's gem" is a reference to a fan-made picture of pre-time skip Steven holding Spinel's gem. You know how you can pay to watch full movies on RUclips? RUclips thought that fanart was a real screenshot of the movie and used as the cover for the Movie for a while.
"Crew loves Japis" is a reference to how some Crewniverse members liked to draw Jasper and Lapis in romantic situations just for fun.
"Cheeseburger Tree" is a reference to how some members of the Crewniverse wanted to add an episode about Lars going on a space adventure with the Off-Colors to find a legendary cheeseburger tree, but it ended up never being made.
"Channel" is a joke made on 4Chan. After the Movie came out, 4Chan decided to jokingly make Spinel their mascot, so they drew a green version of Spinel with different hair and gem (both shaped like the 4Chan logo) and wielding a hammer instead of a scythe. The name "Channel" is a mix of the word "Chan" (as in 4Chan) and "Spinel".
"Pink Pearl is the villain" is a reference to how Pink Pearl was originally going to be one of the main antagonists in Steven Universe Future, she would activate the old Era-1 Pearls and use them to fight the Crystal Gems, but the writers changed their minds about that and made Pink Pearl an ally to the Crystal Gems instead.
The "it's not a outburst beat drop" is one of the millions of reasons of why su should have a sequel

I think there was also a meme where, if you went to a Steven Universe social media place like its Subreddit or Tumblr and posted "We", people would just complete the whole song. It's kind of like the "HE" meme where posting that would result in people singing the Lanky Kong verse from the DK Rap

It wasnt that she couldn't see, it's that she was so used to having future vision, and was commenting on how she could not just see where sapphire was using future vision, as they had been garnet pretty much constantly since Steven was born
yeah and the reason it's part of the iceberg is because there was a lot of debate around it 😭 icebergs arent just for random facts about the show, they're for stuff thats notable to the fandom. like how "steven needs a therapist" isn't only the plotline in future, it was a running gag in the fandom for years that steven should go to therapy because of what he went through, but everyone expected typical "main character traumatic experience" armour so no one though they would *actually* go there in future
I'm not trying to be rude, but there as so many interpretations in this videos that are wrong which is funny, it just reminds me soooooo much about how I was obsessed with the show. The Fandom was crazy and fun.

A lot of things are easily found actually so while you needed to be in the fandom when the show aired to fully understand, the huge misinterpretations in this video are strange.

i think "pink pearl the villain" refers to that at one point, the crew had an idea to make pink pearl as a mini villain in future. it was talked about in Steven Universe: The Complete Collection

The whole "Ruby is Blind" is a reference to a theory that Ruby is blind when unfused with Sapphire, but the line, 'Quiet, I can't see' is actually referring to how she can't use future vision, as stated by Rebecca Sugar.
4:07 Many fans believe the chest symbolizes Rose’s secrets being revealed. How during the series, it was always closed because everyone (except Pearl) didn’t know Rose was Pink Diamond. Then in the movie, the chest is open because at that point everyone knew her secret and it was no longer hidden away.

"It's not an outburst trap music" is probably referring to the fact that the audio of that scene leaked two months prior to the episode airing. Parts of the leak were difficult to make out because it had heavy trap music laid over it.
"Lapis was a Crystal gem" might've been either referring to early in the show/the early fandom, where we assumed all gems were CGs, or the fact that she was poofed and mirrored because she was mistaken for a CG.

From what I remember, "Connie Clones" is likely referring to an old theory that in the episode where Steven and Connie went into Rose's Room to play-act a new ending for a book series they like, the real Connie wasn't the one that came out of the room with Steven at the episode's end. According to the theory, it was the _Room's_ Connie that came out of the room, and the real one was left trapped in there forever or something. Again, the theory is _really old_ so I'm probably misremembering some things about it, but yeah. That's the gist of it.
That's good speculation, but the actual thing it was referring to was that in during the end of Change Your Mind, Connie was shown three times in different locations when the Diamonds arrived to Earth. Like a lot of people say, the ending was VERY rushed and this could be another piece of evidence to prove how bad it was.

Young Steven holding spinels gem refers to a fan art made by MikeCatSU that featured... Young Steven holding spinels gem. Funny enough, many official outlets mistook this art as an official shot from the movie, to the point where the sing a long listing on cable used it as the image.
Classic SU being 3 seasons is actually a production tidbit, as it was originally renewed for 2 more 52 episode seasons but they were later split into 4 26 episode seasons.
The Classic Steven part makes sense considering that the Cluster conflict is resolved in the first two episodes of season 3.

43:20 I think the PD PeeDee thing is that with the benefit of hindsight, people recognize that PeeDee is pretty much spelling out the story of Pink Diamond to us.
PeeDee is forced into the family business of selling fries but wants to do something unique with himself. Pink Diamond is basically the runt of the diamonds and forced to do a bunch of things she didn't want. PeeDee makes his own food truck, but it's still in the shadow of his family because it's tater tots (still a potato based food). Pink Diamond was given a colony, but was still expected to manage it like her fellow Diamonds.

The pink diamond t-shirt refers to a t-shirt that showed Steven's gem sideways, showing the diamond shape, and not a "thinner" one like Amethyst's. A crowd member pointed out that we now knew why that was her favourite t-shirt after A single pale rose aired.
It could also be that hot topic really did leak pink diamond’s full jester-like appearance through a T-shirt render on their website. Given, it wasn’t too long before the episode “A Singe Pale Rose” aired, maybe by a week or two, but it was still a leak never the less.

That would make sense because Bismuths are architects and weapons smiths. A homeworld Bismuth would have no place on the battlefield.
17:09 I'm surprised you don't know this, but back in 2013, the Crewniverse shared this promo t-shirt they had with a three-dimensional view of all the Crystal Gems' gemstones, thus including the part of each gemstone hidden inside the the Gems' bodies. Steven's gemstone (which we wouldn't have an official three-dimensional view of until Pink Diamond's reveal, since he never poofed) protruded into a pointy apex, resembling a diamond. Mind you, this was back when the show had just recently premiered, so it came to be the ultimate case of foreshadowing in Steven Universe.
This eventually became one of the more obscure but plausible arguments for Rose being Pink Diamond, which, until a certain point, was a very popular theory in the fandom.
Additionally, a day after the release of A Single Pale Rose in May of 2018, Joe Johnston (one of the Storyboard Artists/Directors for Steven Universe) revealed on Twitter that this had been totally intentional all along - much to the surprise of the vast majority of the fandom, because trust me when I tell you that this theory was believed to have been debunked by the fandom for years at this point (or so we thought at the time). The very few who still believed it were quickly dismissed - so you can imagine everyone's reactions when it turned out to be true.
Just google "steven universe joe johnston crewniverse t-shirt" and you'll easily find it.
man, the release night of ASPR was just crazy, you really had to be there. the problem with most SU theories was that people would come up with them and have a crazy amount of valid evidence, but the hiatuses were SO. LONG. that after a while people would overthink their theories or come up with opposing theories to whatever was mainstream, and convince everyone that the theory was never true. pearl covering her mouth every time rose is mentioned, the pavillion on the gem on the shirt, all of this stuff HAD been noticed by fans as evidence or the theory, but everyone convinced themselves they were wrong. before jungle moon the common fan consensus was that it wasn't true 😭 then after that episode people started to rethink things, and then of course ASPR dropped...

I spent life trapped in the SU fandom for like the whole 6 years it aired so I gotta clarify some stuff to not feel bad about the time I wasted:
17:20 "Pink Diamond t-shirt" refers to an old SU merch piece in which Steven's gem can be seen on it's full glory, showing that, unlike Amethyst and other Quartz that are flat on both sides, this one had a spike, like the Diamond's.
18:38 Pretty much refers to the idea that Amethyst shapeshifted as Rose before in order to get romantic affection out of Greg. The headcanon is pretty much that the reason why Greg says "Can't do this again" is because Amethyst attempted this before as a way to help things get to normal after Rose's death.
21:05 Pretty sure this one in specific is refering to the whole fucking mess that happened after SU's Keystone Motel episode, fans of the series found out about the real Keystone Motel and started raiding the reviews pages with references to the show, the Crewniverse had to come out and tell people to stop because they were actively hurting the image of the place.
26:13 In an episode of Steven Universe, there's a scene in which an animation error, coloring error, to be specific, made Bismuth's pants be the same color as her skin, so people started joking that she was naked and going commando.
32:49 You missed A WHOLE Rabbit Hole that is extremely interesting, ik this post is long, but this one's the best one to go deep down:
When the SU movie came out, 4chan lost it's mind, specially /co/, the comics and cartoons board. They loved Spinel and one Drawanon (anons who make art and often take request in drawthreads) made a version of Spinel that had the 4chan logo imprinted to her, with the logo in her hair, her color scheme and her personality, anons named her "Channel" and she became a huge meme for like, the month she was popular.
This all came down because Ms./co/, an anual event, was happening at the time the SU movie came out, Ms./co/ is a sort of fun game the board makes in which they pick "The waifu of the year" by voting between a large pool of female cartoon characters, that year Spinel and Channel won and other anons accused the event of unfairness/Being rigged due to the hype of the movie artificially inflating the numbers.
This all ended on Ms./co/ being a disaster and as far as I know the event hasn't been seen anymore.
A bunch of RUclips Poopers on /co/ decided to make a discord to remix the WHOLE Steven Universe movie to replace Spinel with Channel and add more humor to the whole thing, I know there's WIPs out there in the form of .mp4's and .webm's, I don't know if the project ever got completed however, for what I've seen it died down extremely fast.
34:22 One of the first SU memes, is an edit of pearl being just a head with one long leg, pretty iconic.
38:27 Pretty sure this one is refering to a theory on tumblr. "Gemitals" were a concept born there in S1A in which the gems had normal human genitalia mixed with how crystal rocks look when freshly opened, and for a while there was speculations that the account who started it all was a Crewniverse NSFW account in disguise.
39:19: Altho related to the ship wars, the real reason Zuke got harassed was due to a fake 4chan leak made specifically to bait tumblr, in which anons would fake screenshots of Zuke's "Personal account" sayin stuff like "Working for Rebecca is like living with Donald Trump", due to fans being at their peak of toxicity in this era, many believed the fake leaks, and that's what started the uproar.
44:42 "Peridoodle" refers to art made by Tumblr user iapislazuli (who is great follow em), they took a scene in which Peridot was regenerating from her gem and added a face to it, making it look like a floating triangle with a face, it got called "peridoodle" and it became so popular many people tought it was an actual screenshot.
45:21 Zuke was well known for being the shitposter of the fandom, they got asked to draw Lapis laying an egg once, I don't recall if they actually went with it as a joke or not tho.
I hopped hard into this fandom right at the beginning and even I couldn't remember all if this. I was all over different parts of the fandom but mostly stuck with theories and comics and fan stuff but not creator drama. Also hella memes. Just so many memes.

@@gearguts7259 Ah. Oh no. the hyper focus kicked in and whoops 6 years passed and I am filled with all the knowledge in this specific series. To be fair I kinda love that. My best friend's have their own stuff like that too like my best friend can give me a full run down on the entire Halo series including the books and movies. And I can blabber on to him about fun dnd character builds for hours. It's fun when you find things you resonate with like that.

Okay, so I’m gonna try to elaborate on the things I know that weren’t covered in the video:
15:16 actually refers to back in 2016-17 when CN were notorious for accidentally dropping episodes early via their online video service, which eventually caused the entire “Out of this World” arc to be leaked weeks before its premiere.
24:22 is referring to an audio leak that surfaced in around February 2020 of the scene in question, except it was layered with a trap beat to avoid getting taken down. A similar thing happened with the proposal scene from Together Forever too.
26:21 refers to a piece of fan art that MikeCatSU (a fan artist & current storyboard artist on Disney’s The Owl House) created shortly after the movie teaser debuted for a Roundtable video. Apparently a few TV providers used this as a preview image in place of the official artwork, which gained attention online.
26:56 is referencing the fact that the episode “Dewey Wins” was scheduled to air in Malaysia ahead of its US premiere, but was ultimately pulled.
32:32 refers to a series of themed SU rerun blocks that CN started airing in early 2016, with each one having its own individual promo image - one of which was themed around Rose Quartz and featured her supposedly holding baby Steven. The artwork was later confirmed to be fake, and was edited to be more accurate to the show’s canon.

I think there actually could be some evidence that our Pearl did actually belong to WD before going to Pink. In the movie, the name of Pearl’s “reboot” song is “system/BOOT. PearlFinal (3).Info” that “(3)” could be referring to the fact that Pearl may have been reset before. Once when she began to serve Pink, maybe once before or even during her service under Pink as punishment from the others. But it’s clear she’s been rebooted before the film.

I don't know why it was ever mentioned or if people even talk about it but the Cookie Cat song, from freaking season 1, is the story of Pink Diamond. Pink came to earth from a different planet, Rose and the gems were all refugees from the war trying to escape homeworld, however, Pink had to leave her sisters behind to try and prove her point.

I believe the "Leg" entry (34:16) refers to a veeeery old edit of a frame from the first opening. specifically the shot where Pearls sits on the sand (briefly before the intro ends).

For anyone wondering about Houseki No Kuni's similarities with Steven Universe: it's that the cast is similar in base (gems in both shows) but some differences like Su's Gems being made from light but if the gem shatters, they expire, but with Hnk's gems, they break constantly but they cannot die unless they turn into dust or something like that or they are turned into liquid.
Many say that Steven Universe copied Houseki No Kuni's design but there's little to no proof of such thing.
I recommend to read the Manga version of Houseki No Kuni, as their art style is B E A U T I F U L.
I think I know what “we” is. There’s this vid where it’s the normal theme, it starts out, and when garnet says “we” it’s REALLY high pitched. Personally, I think this is connects to "what if Rose stayed alive with Steven". In one of the podcast, Rebecca said that Rose and Steven can be alive together but Rose choose not to. It means that Rose kinda commit... yeah.
If you think about, there are theories that Steven reflected Rose's pain of "Who am I, am I a Diamond?". Rose didn't want to be Pink Diamond, she didn't like HERSELF. Steven didn't want to be a Diamond, who are the villians he know for so long. Well that's just a theory... about the Steven reflects Rose's pain. Rebecca also said that Rose and Steven are 2 different people.
Rose's pain though-
I believe that Yellow, White, and Blue Diamond mean no harm to Rose but there some part of their life they just put to much pressure to Rose. Just take Greg for example.

Honestly, rose probably didn't want to be there anymore like if her job was done because back then everything was ok. she's done everything she needed to, it might have been selfish. But honestly, she grew as a person and changed. She began to feel human. I don't believe she made Steven so he can deal with her problems. I think she made him because she really did want to have him. I believe she didn't mean to hurt anyone the way she did. But then again, she needed to go. Because the crystal gems would have never grown if she had never left. Even then, I feel like rose knew that Steven would be in good hands. I don't consider her bad or good. I consider her human. And about her making pearl keep her secret, she probably really didn't want to look back on that she wanted to change. She probably want to start over start new. And just forget, move on, I don't think she really meant to hurt pearl like that. If she was still there, she probably would have felt bad and told everyone the truth. I don't really think she had bad intentions. She probably just wanted a fresh start.

Omg I hate the "fusion is sex" thing. Fusion is meant to represent your relationship with someone: the more human it is, the more insync you are. That's why Garnet is literally perfect form while Malachite was distorted and horribly altered. The more human the features, the more genuine the relationship between the two people are- and not just romantic. Relationships are just a connection of two people: paternal, familial, platonic, romantic, sexual. That's also why Stevonnie is completely human, while Steg has extra arms- hes CLOSER with Connie because she's his best friend, and eventual girlfriend.

And this music was playing over a particularly intense bit of dialogue and one of those lines in that bit of dialogue was Steven saying "It's not an outburst!" I really hope that this made sense.

I love the fact that some of the ones you were very confused about I remember what all the fuss was since I heard a lot of the crazy theories while the show was going. Like leg is 100% when the fandom was going nuts early on when the theory came out that the pink things in the desert were leg counterparts to the diamond arms. It was a pretty big deal before it was confirmed.
Cartoon Network did in fact cancel the show because of Garnet’s wedding. The wedding episode was actually planned long before gay marriage had been legalized in the US and Cartoon Network told Rebecca Sugar that the show wouldn’t last if they aired it. But luckily, she pushed for it anyway. The last 4 episodes of the main show were meant to be an entire season but the crew had to rush it to show everything they needed to.

Channel is a fan character made by /co/, the cartoons/comics board, which is just a green version of Spinel with a second set of pigtails below her head, forming the shape of a clover which is 4chan's icon. This mainly came about since /co/ fell in love with Spinel, especially her cheerful form, when the movie first premiered due to her being a big reference to old cartoons. There's even a fan edited version of the movie where Spinel is replaced with Channel (which honestly due to a lot of drama surrounding it's production surprised it wasn't included on the iceberg)

Gregmethyst is canon originates from a theory based on the episode shown where we learn about Greg and Amethyst having a relationship as buddies but had been strained since Rose became his partner. The theory originates from Greg having for example pictures of Amethyst in her cat form in his house on one point, if im not mistaken in Two Gems and a Baby, and the theory recobtextualizes this suggesting that maybe Greg and Amethyst’s relationship was more than just as friends before Rose came along.

The Pink Diamond T-Shirt could be reffering to what was shown in the video, however it could also refer to a very okd pucture posted on Instagram in very early s1 SU times by the Crewniverse, where a shirt is shown where all the gemstones of the Crystal Gems appear in a three-dimensional manner, including Rose’s gemstone, which appears like the actual Pink Diamond’s gem, unlike how it was suggested her’s being, as in more similar to Amethyst due to them both being Quartzes. This picture would be a big player in creating the Rose is Pink Diamond theory early on at the beginning of the show. However if it does refer to the PD t-shirts, then it coulf be here due to t-shirts of Pink Diamond being revealed before we got to see her full, finished form, released after Jungle Moon and before A Single Pale Rose.

This could refer to what was shown in the video, but also to what people speculated to be Blue Diamond’s look, which was first shown although not completely in the Garnet’s backstory episode, where it seems like Blue Diamond had dark hair. After officially appering much later in S4, she appeared with white hair, which people interpreted could have had something to do with Pink Diamond’s shattering, where BD became so depressed that she phisically changed, having her hair turn white. This actually has to do with the original Steven Universe having been planned to be 3 seasons in length, where every season would hace 52~ episodes like S1 did, however what were planned to be S2 and S3 were divided both into two, where the OG S2 became S2 & 3, and the OG S3 became S4 & 5. It was divided because CN requested it to be, im guessing so there wasnt so much content crammed into a single season. This is why some seasons feel weird in their continuity, for example the start of S3 being more like the the culmination of S2, and S4 being so filler-heavy on purpose due to what would become S5, in this case the remainder of the OG S3, being so plot-heavy.

If I’m not mistaken, Pink Pearl was originally planned to become a villain in SUF, either a recurring one throughout the series or specifically in the Volleyball episode, I’m not sure. The idea was that at the end of the episode, Volleyball would become evil, i assume as a form of retaliation due to her trauma, similarly to Spinel, possibly against Steven due to him being the son of PD / her thinking Steven IS PD, like in the Roundatble theory video. However, the idea was scrapped, and we ended up getting what is now her dealing with her past in such episode.
