in my opinion, i would put connie into S tier for being their for steven during the entire show and future. The whole speech she gives about steven putting others first and how its their turn to help steven and not whine while steven is having a mental breakdown, is so moving and shows she truly cares about steven and his mental health (best couple).

i like her, but she uses her sword skills very few times in the show, i think connie should have more spotlight around this

Man you did Aquamarine so dirty, she was so cool because she was literally one of the only singular instances where Steven was unable to break through to somebody.
She was clearly set up to represent the majority of bad people who are evil for their own pleasure and/or benefit instead of being motivated by some tragic backstory or end goal. Plus her wand was really fun to watch in action
yeah but aquamarine being irredeemable while the literal god-empresses that are the diamonds becoming steven’s allies in only a few episodes just makes her an out-of-place adversary, especially in future

Def a B tier just a matter of how high or low on the list she's the main reason Steven learned morality for other gems isn't always just letting them go sometimes you have to beat them to let them see the light which he later used on spinel in the movie

I 100% agree with Steven being the best character in the show, the amount he grows and changes is absolutely incredible. I’m so glad we get to see him go from some annoying child to one of the most mature characters in the show. He’s underrated, and I love him
He's one of the best protags of recent memory imo. His supposed "perfection" is only skin deep, he has plenty of flaws that make him interesting.
He’s my personal favorite and idc if it’s basic it’s his show and he’s simply the best

14:31 I’m pretty sure there actually was gonna be an episode about Rhodonite’s past in Future! I may not remember everything correctly, but I think the just of it was that Homeworld had made a device that could see how many “past lives” a gem has had, or how many times their memory had been wiped. (Think of spinel’s scythe and how it wiped memories). Rhodonite tested it out and somehow had a super high number, like 17 or something, meaning her memory had been wiped a bunch of times. And then their past as a ruby and a pearl would be revealed. Their story was basically the ruby and pearl found each other and fell in love, but of course were factory reset. But they kept finding each other AGAIN after that, and each time they ended up falling in love in different ways, then getting wiped. It’s like they were meant to be together and form Rhodonite.
I'm disappointed that they didn't make it I'm a sucker for love stories especially ones like hers and it got scrapped

Imo, I would put Jasper in A tier. I completely understand feeling like she didn't change much, but I saw her in future as a representation that not everything can be fixed. Steven makes a difference on all the gems, but Jasper is so stuck in her ways she can't be changed. Great video!
I like to think of the message as it's not Steven's job to fix her. But she's basically immortal so it's not like she couldn't potentially change for the better some day.
Well ,,, that message was already portrayed by aquamarine and eyeball still hating steven. But i think jasper would have been a better example for this if that was the intention

Garnet is easily my favorite character in the show.
She’s hilarious, has great songs and over time becomes the true mom of the Crystal Gems. It’s great to see!

Im also all for Lars been S tier. It's funny, but when a Steven Universe writer held a conference in my country, a guy, instead of standing up and asking a useful question, asked why the show can't get rid of Ronaldo, he was super angry about it, and the writter answer that exactly, to be clear he started saying he liked Ronaldo, but also said that some fans may feel unconfortable about Ronaldo because in a way may be a projection of themselfs , at that point it felt like yes, the dude was Ronaldo xD.
To be fair, Ronaldo isn't just hated because he's annoying. He's also hated because he's kind of a psychopath. I mean he straight up tried to kill Lars onscreen one time, and then Lars was the one who apologized to him. He also tried to kill a watermelon Steven, pretty much just for the fun of it. And it kind of feels like he was about to dissect Steven when he thought he was a snake person, which btw feels uncomfortably similar to how a certain Owl House character reacted to a similar situation.
In small doses I honestly found Ronaldo kind of funny sometimes, but he's objectively not the best person...

Nice lapis and mean lapis are my two favourite Steven universe characters, they both come from the epilogue series, only having one episode and I would like to see them in more stuff when the creators make more.

Honestly, I really feel like Sadie’s arc was what the show needed after all the craziness. It was a new direction, but in a way that felt comfortable.

i love that scene of pearl taking a nibble of steven’s homemade cookie cat because it shows her progression as a character. at the beginning of the show one of her defining traits was her hatred of food. the fact now she can willingly take a nibble of food like that and actually enjoy it instead of faking anything to make steven happy is actually amazing.

On my first rewatch of Steven universe I watched the episode side where Marty makes Greg rich and me and my family were out at dinner thinking of names for our cat and I thought of the episode and suggested Marty and we all loved it. And that’s how I named my cat.💀
I just love the Diamonds. Some people will say that they shouldn’t have been redeemed, but come on. Yellow’s a girl boss, and is done with your sh** before she even meets you. Blue’s just, well, I love her. White Diamond is funny in the movie. Pink is CHILDISH. I don’t like her. She couldn’t handle a colony.

In my opinion I like rutile twins but for the thing that makes them an off color (that's she's 2 rutiles stuck together) it just feels like she's one character with 2 heads not 2 characters with one body and I don't like that like some twins can actually be born stuck together and from what I've seen it's quite obvious that they're 2 separate individuals. Also you forgot about bismuth who I like but I wish she appeared in more episodes
