This has got to be one of the best episodes of Steven Universe. Fleshing out Peridot’s character from technically her POV was refreshing at the time and was the catalyst of me personally loving the show. Peridot’s character is something I hold dear and only began to love more after Rebecca canonized that she was a representation of asexuality.
That last scene where her and Garnet go to fuse, something that has been led up to the whole episode and Peridot not feeling comfortable gave me so much comfort as a kid and as an adult. Garnet then understanding and breaking it down to a level where Peridot understood and felt comfortable was such a nice touch.
And then it shows Peridot and Garnet finally getting along at the end as friends and their relationship growing in that way always validated me as an asexual. Everyone in the series wants to fuse with Garnet. Pearl literally forced it upon Garnet so they could keep fusing. Yet when it’s given to Peridot on a silver platter, she turns it down. It was something she didn’t personally want to pursue, but she did want to pursue an understanding and friendship with Garnet.
I’m a show that discusses relationships and emotions, it was nice to see someone who chooses to not want to fuse or pursue a relationship, which, in my opinion, makes this episode either the best (it’s the best in my opinion) or one of the best.

I had Steven's ringtone as my own for years because of Full Disclosure, so I can agree that the episode is top tier

33:22 This is just a personal headcanon , but that emoji represents “speak no evil,” so I always interpreted it as Pearl’s- not only inability to- but fear of telling Rose’s secret. Se know telling it would hurt garnet, amethyst, and Greg, and screw up Steven a bit. It also likely felt like a betrayal to Rose.
I like to think that even if Pearl wasn’t forced to keep the secret it would be hard for her to reveal. I’m not fully on the anti-rose bandwagon but her putting Pearl in this position demonstrates her selfish tendencies. Keeping the secret in caused Pearl immense suffering and the secret getting out also led to immediate pain for Pearl’s loved ones.
I mean that order is straight up a form of torture. It makes Steven's sacrifice during "I am my Mom" so much worse because you have just have Pearl there not even being able to say what she thinks are her final words to him.

I will say to the credit of "Your Mother and Mine" that it introduced a quirk in the understanding of what happened with Pink Diamond, because in the story Garnet said that Rose shattered Pink with her sword, which for anyone who remembered Bismuth's episode would know that Bismuth made the sword to never harm the gem. It introduced an inconsistency to clue the audience in that the story wasn't complete

Man I forgot how damn good this series was overall. I usually just go back and watch a few of my favorites like island adventure/mr. greg/ jailbreak etc when I miss it but i really gotta watch it all the way through again

I have to disagree with the placement of Last One Out in A tier. For me, it's an easy SS tier episode, because it's such a good realization of Pearl's arc up to that point! It feels so well-earned and it's so wonderful to see her finally get an unambiguous win and start to move forward. As a massive Pearl enjoyer, it's gotta be my personal favorite episode of the show (although I'd argue A Single Pale Rose to be the objective best).
Aside from that though I can respect your opinions even where I disagree 👍
I agree. It's hard to top A Single Pale Rose and The Return/Jail Break. I think Fragments should've been placed higher because that episode went so hard and I was so heavily invested in that big turning point. I only wish it had come a bit sooner so we could've lingered in Steven's breakdown a bit more, unfortunately that was a bit rushed.
Rose's Scabbard, Mr.Greg and Sworn to the Sword were also great. Most of the Pearl episodes were, but Jasper was such a great character too that should've had more screentime IMO. I loved how they did Peridot's redemption and wished Lapis and Jasper had a similiar lengthy exploration but that didn't really happen. =/
last one out of beach city is one of my, if not, my favourite steven universe episode.
You know, I keep thinking of that episode as a disappointment since mystery girl never shows up again but that's not a fault of that episode itself - I really thought MG would come back in a meaningful way, especially since Pearl gets a cell phone right after, the whole way up through the end of Future.
LOOOBC is such a rewatchable episode. I LOVEEEE rewatchable episodes like that, and log date, and too short to ride !

STOP WHEN I REALOZED "Full Disclosure" was #1 I got excited. Its literally one of the most underrated songs and wpisodes because it follows up the most popular episode in tje series
I just wanna say this was a good video and I pretty much agree with the entire list. Also it it refreshing to see someone have Lapis as their favorite character I feel like she get too much hate. I also was surprised to see full disclosure so high but what you said really made sense and it proves how Steven always had a tendency to bottle up his trauma even since season 1 and foreshadowes his problems in future.
The movie is a musical. A musical is shorter than a movie

I AM OVERJOYED THAT YOU PICKED FULL DISCLOSURE AS #1. i have never been more emotionally devastated by an episode in from ANYTHING and from steven universe that says a lot. it’s got a perfect set up, a perfect song, a perfect amount of silliness, a perfect amount of sadness, and a perfect ending. it is truly peak steven universe

You know it’s funny that you said “Full Disclosure” was your favorite episode, I wouldn’t call it my favorite, but it was extremely formative for me. I love that episode so much that when I was 15 and first got a phone, I went on iTunes and bought Steven’s ringtone for his phone to be my phone. Mind you that this audio wasn’t even officially released so it doesn’t even sound that great, but nonetheless nearly 7 years later, it is still the ringtone for my phone to this day.

4:44 I think "Your Mother and Mine" serves a great purpose for highlighting the faith and trust Garnet had for Rose to set up her falling apart at the Pink reveal - the title itself places Rose as a motherly figure for both Steven *and* Garnet - Steven at the end even foreshadows at the end wondering "what if she's still out there?" after seeing a vision of her on the Jungle Moon, Garnet reassures him that his mother made sure" she was gone, and Steven rebutts "but I felt such a strong connection"

The fact that I watched SU ONLY in Russian dub and the translators decided it would be a good idea for a song from “Full Disclosure” to be sung by some grown up man voice😭 The funniest thing is that other songs were normal in that dub

I had depression and C-PTSD as a kid and full disclosure was one of the episodes that helped me deal with that the most. The lyrics hit hard.

AAA I couldn't agree more on Full Disclosure!!! From the first add of Steven that aired on TV I though it was some dumb kids' show. Like technically the episode with Steven discovering Lapis is meant to be the one after which you get that the show is real deal. But it was 100% Full Disclosure for me, how Steven first felt the responsibility on his shoulders for the stuff that was happening was soo emotional. And yeah, i put that ringtone on my phone, my alarm, so now i can not listen to it. Don't regret it.
And damn I remember hit the diamond being such a hated episode exactly cause you were anticipating something major and it turned out to be a stupid baseball game. Could be that baseball just isn't common where i live, but i thought it would be like d tear at best

The Jasper Corruption scene in Earthlings was one of my favorite scenes.
I have "here we are in the future" memorized by heart. The spoken and sung parts, all versions. I loved the movie, and Spinell is such a relatable character. I think it deserved S tier but high A is fair ig
And I could rant about Lapis's character for HOURS. She's such a well written character. Her backstory, storyline, relationship with Jasper and malachite, building her relationship with paradot, and her entire characters arcs are the best EVER. Lapis best character.

A veces siento que varios críticos al ver la serie, se olvidan apagar su cerebro, y usan su capacidad de análisis al millón 100%, ya que casi siempre, analizan absolutamente todos los detalles, buenos y malos de todos los capítulos, los comparan con un episodio mucho peor o mucho mejor de la serie, que salió al mismo tiempo, y además hacen un análisis algo pretencioso, queriendo comparar todos los capítulos de la serie, y darles diferentes ordenes de calidad, solo por analizar una escena, no es broma, casi todas las críticas, son de un tipo de termómetro, donde analizan de forma pretenciosa, absolutamente todos los aciertos y fallos de la serie, y me molesta, que varias cosas, son comunes en casi todas las caricaturas, pero solo se la critican a esta como si fuera algo nuevo, hasta la critican, por tener el "esquema del héroe", o tener una introducción muy lenta, o que hasta el arco final de la primer temporada, la serie se adelanta mucho, cuando son cosas necesarias, que casi todas las series lineales tienen, y hasta para hablar bien de ella, lo hacen como de una forma muy intelectualista, ya que hasta para decir que el primer capítulo es una buena introducción, tienen que meter medio análisis teórico, filosófico y hasta psicológico, y más para decir, que varias cosas eran obvias que iban a suceder desde el comienzo, o que desde la introducción, ya sabias varias cosas esenciales de la trama, o como iba a terminar la caricatura, no se, quieren decir, que desde que Steven activo su escudo, era obvio que la serie terminaría con el redimiendo a diamante blanco, pero le ponen un montón de texto filosófico, para explicar algo así de sencillo, o hasta lo analizan, como si fuera aquel episodio, donde hacen a bella, de las chicas superpoderosas, o donde Helga va al psiquiatra, por eso detesto la mayoría de criticas de la serie, y prefiero más estos canales, que van al grano, y se encargan de disfrutar las cosas, en serio, la gente es pretenciosa al analizar la serie, a niveles absurdos, y lo curioso, es que solo está tiene ese extraño fenómeno, de solo tener críticos pretenciosos, superiores intelectualmente, por una extraña razón que no logro entender.

I've been watching some youtubers go through Steven Universe, and it's kinda funny that they do get the same feelings that fans got as the episodes aired, as in the Townie episode can be fun yes, but when they're dispersed in the middle of plot points then while they're nice, people want the continuation of the plot instead.
My favorite episode has always been bismuth. Specifically the first part of it where he un-bubble’s here and she’s just trying to get out of the mane- SO GOOD!!

i was so happy and relieved to see that mindful education made it into the SS tier, when I was younger it really helped me a lot with managing my anxiety and it’s been my favorite episode ever since
i remember watching jailbreak as a child. when i started watching the series about 3 weeks ago i got like a bunch of flashbacks of me watching steven universe. by far the best series i have ever seen. no joke.
Anyway, that was a really cool video and I'm glad you're passionate about this series

1:16 Shirt Club _was_ a Season 1 episode, but it didn't air until Season 2 had already started. Let me explain.
Over the show's run, several batches of episodes were dropped in so-called "StevenBombs," where new episodes would drop daily over the course of a week.
The first StevenBomb took place at the very end of Season 1, culminating in the season finale. However, in order to facilitate this, the air order had to be rearranged to place five episodes within the same week. Three episodes between Rose's Scabbard and The Message-being Open Book, Shirt Club, and Story for Steven-were moved down in the schedule to air _after_ Jailbreak, as the order in which they aired was deemed less critical.
As far as I can tell, this only happened because the episodes had been planned out months in advance, before anyone knew that they would have the opportunity to air the finale all at once. For future StevenBombs, the episode structure was more carefully planned out to avoid shuffling of episodes.
