I grew up a military brat and I am proud everytime I see a military video reaction. I remember when I was really young we ate alot of Tuna casserole, Spaghetti and other cheap dinners, as my dad moved up the line dinners got better. We moved about every 2-3 years. I attended 4 schools in the 6th grade as my dad's orders got messed up and then changed completely. Almost every male in my family has served at least one term, my dad did 30 years and then I married military. My gramps did WWII my uncle Korea my dad Vietnam my brother Grenada my husband 2 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. God bless our military and their families.
$30k is take home. They didn’t mention if you are married you get BAS and BAH. Meaning they pay for your housing, utilities, and food every month. If you live overseas or in expensive parts of the country they give you even more money to cover the cost of living.
@@CloudJLaw I left the military because of the poor pay. I put those same hours I used to work in the military, 14-20 hours a day in the oilfield now, easy 250k here in the oilfield.
30 k in Viet Nam as a Cpl with combat pay and overseas pay. I got 300 a month.Remember, free food, room and board, free healthcare and dental. That 30 k buys what you want.
yup, they dont realize all the free stuff that comes with being in the military...and the US army paid for my school and also paid me just for going to college when i completed my 4yr LOL
Being a DI is a B-billet job required on your military resume to pass the rank of SSgt or E-6 typically. Other B-billet jobs include MSG (guarding US embassy’s), and recruitment. These guys are basically signing up for bootcamp for 3 years… and have to be 100% everyday their mental.
That 30k would be someone that is a very junior SGT. A more senior one or higher rank would be a higher pay. Also keep in keep in mind that they don’t pay for housing, heath or dental insurance, food and they even get clothing allowance.
civies wouldn't know that "trade-off"... the biggie.. for me... was the VA bennies after I served... NO DOWN PAYMENT TO BUY A HOUSE !! ( on my 3rd).. yeah, gotta see the trade offs
Drill Sergeants during Work: 😠😡🤬 Drill Sergeants off duty: 🙂😊☺️😇😍🥰😘 Believe it or not, most Drill Sergeants and Drill Instructors are the nicest people on Earth but they have to be tough towards new recruits.
The ol’ drink water until you projectile vomit game. I just filled my canteen 1/4 of the way, then pretended like I was chugging the rest. Worked every time.
Military pay is more than 30k. That’s just BASIC pay. You’ll also get housing and food pay. My housing pay is $1700 a month and food is around $350. There’s also hazardous duty, flight pay, sea pay, etc depending on your job. Drill instructors get drill pay as well. Pay isn’t great for how difficult the job is but it’s damn sure not 30k.
We were never hit, but we were forced to drink water until we vomited, and it was right after they told us to eat more at evening chow because we were about to start the crucible.
Checkout Gurkha training, also the Gurkha hero who being outnumbered, single handedly took out enemy fighters in Afghanistan. Or the one handed Gurkha who took on 200 of his enemy in ww2. They are without doubt, the best fighting unit in the world.
Opinions....not facts. Sometimes the quality of the enemies training is lacking. For instance if the one handed Gurkha was fighting 200 marines....the story would probably be different.
@@lycan2494 WW 2 ended a long time ago.....stop watching so many movies...the battlefield is different .....unless you have the support units....air...artillery etc....your one handed gurkha is just another casualty. Maybe India will get a chance to show what it has in the future...till then they are just another unproven military in the modern age....just like China.
5:37 Shit, that's the way it was when I was in back in 97. We got hazed all day long. I don't know how many times we drank canteens of water until we vomited or smacked around. Today's military is soft. Some recruits needed to smacked around.
WOMEN WORK ON EMOTION, MEN WORK ON PHYSICAL ABILITY. BUT IM SURE WOMEN ARE NOT OUT THERE CARRYING GUNS AND BODY, THEY ARE MORE LIKELY TO DO INFO JOBS. BUT STILL THEY SHOULDNT BE ALLOWED SIMPLY DO TO NATURAL THOUGHT PROCESS.
30k/yr goes a long way when you dont have to spend for housing or meals, or utilities if you live on base...30k/yr with possibly only your phone bill/internet to pay for is alot bro LOL
Sorry not sorry I laugh every time some females screams in my face because I'm like I can pick you up with one hand you weigh about 100 lb soaking wet and that's cute
Female marine complaining .....they don't have to perform the same during physical testing......yet they get the same pay.....still crying.....I want to see her fireman carry that marine running behind her.....can't do it, still gets the same pay......she is confused.....she isn't doing ten times as much.....she is doing less of some things and not expected to do other things a male would be expected to do.....good for her for joining .....but don't get it twisted.
5:45 this is whats destroying the marine corps.... even when i was in hazing wasnt that big of an issue... we took care of our own business in a fireteam or platoon if need be, but its not very common for actual abuse. These inclusivity and sensitivity courses they are forcing onto these DIs and recruits is doing nothing but giving the already weak minded and entitled generation today even more excuses to be a victim or manipulate the system for selfish reasons like not wanting to be in the fleet anymore. I got out in 2019 and my last 5 to 6 months in my infantry unit was absolutely ridicules. These guys coming in today are so weak minded, entitled, and disrespectful, even had guys hitting the fleet and then going UA the very next day. We dont need softer training or programs... we need harder men. I had to choose to get out because i just couldnt trust some of the guys coming in and the way the corps was coddling weakness. I just cant put myself in a situation where ill be in combat with guys who i cant trust and who cant even handle being called rude names let alone be shot at and still keep their shit together.
if you made 100k/yr...what would your actual take home pay be after taxes? about 70k...then minus rent (say about 2 to 3k/mo for a similar military housing), and utilities...than food? you probaby end up with 30K, basically the same as the 30k/yr ...maybe even less, and im just being real...dont laugh at the military pay bcuz they also have amazing benefits that you dont have...add all these benefits and it blows away what a 100k/yr earner gets in return LOL

Drill instructors are usually E-5 through E-7 so, they get paid a lot more than 30K.
It's more about pride than money
