That smaller suitcase with the mirror inside is a vanity case you would take your makeup products, your shampoos, etc. in there when I was going off to college my parents bought me a matching blue suitcase and vanity case and I did use that vanity case up until just a few years ago Those things are just so well-made.

My mom who would have been 91 if still alive, had a suitcase like the small one and she called it a “train case”. She carried makeup and other toiletries in it. So cool!

You can take old, smelly objects, wood, material, etc. and put an open container of white vinegar, close the container and leave it sit for a while and sometimes you get lucky and it removes that yucky smell
Hey guys take some charcoal briquettes and lay them on paper and close up the suitcases for awhile and it will remove the old odor.

The luggage was a great find. I had a motor similar to that one, a 60s Montgomery Ward. Those things are beasts.

I bought a steamer trunk 50 years ago, when I searched inside, there was a diamond ring hidden inside. I still have the trunk.

That piece of luggage with the purple lining looks like it was for a portable bar. That's why it has all those pockets compartments.

Love the outboard for 50 old boat stuff cool I would atleast spray some go go juice with a little trans oil in cylinder to see if it pops assuming it has spark

That outboard is perfect for a restore job .
You might know, but lots of people are buying suitcases of all types and putting foam in them to carry high end cameras, guns, electronics, etc. They like the vintage looking ones becasue they just look cooler than carrying a metal looking box around like they make today. Its a conversation piece too.

This is one of the more interesting videos you have done recently with the steamer trunks and outboard engine. It's interesting that the guy who sold you a bunch of golf clubs for $2 apiece is himself an eBay seller but is not willing to take the time to list these and then wait eight months to sell them.

Before you tear apart that engine, see what they go for restored. Get a price from a body shop for a full restoration and see if it’s worth it, you may be able to make much more than if you part it out with way less effort. Just saying
That Johnson outboard moter would sell super fast here where I am in Northern New York by the St.lawerence river. I've seen a few still in use.

When I have a smaller item that smells, I stuff if full of crumpled newspaper and leave it for a couple weeks. Does really well at removing smells. I've done it for things that smell like smoke.
Spray the newsprint with vinegar before stuffing and it works even better!

I had to clean out my son's shower and bedroom so he could come home on leave. My house is a MESS! I'm glad you grabbed all the cases though.

I used to sell lots of legos by the pound on eBay. They are a good sell. Those and Kinex are good sellers by weight.
i knew about legos - we just sold some but i didnt know about the kinex selling well by weight - ill be on the look out
@@beardedthriftmachine Erector pieces are good but you rarely see large enough amounts to make it worthwhile. The OLD erector sets used to bring good money, but I see they don't bring the money anymore unless they are super mint.
