Great presentation 👍🏼. Not criticizing but just a question: when you were talking about the Chief’s power delivery at the time you were driving it were you aware of the fact that it delivers max torque at 3200rpm?
I own a 116 Chief Bobber and I can tell you from experience that once you hit that rpm she goes like a rocket. High gear, low rpm, opening that throttle, what do you expect? No torque, as simple as that. Just my humble opinion. Anyway, I really enjoyed your presentation. Thank you for that😃

@@berndyoutubification i was not aware of the max torque when i took out the Sport Chief, when i took the dark horse bobber i figured the bike out a little more and realized the way the power delivery is achieved at a far lower RPM than im normally accustomed to. My familiarity with the bigger bikes is somewhat limited tbh. I haven't really been on a larger bike like the Chief since my disease destroyed my foot.
Not that it's any excuse. Still its one of those bikes that may grow on me the more i figure it out.

This is a nitpick, but I don’t like the engine on the redesigned Scout. It has the effect of making it look plastic. Same effect on the new Sportsters. I think the Scout is a great bike. I have not ridden the FTR, but I’m not surprised that you say it’s even better, given that it’s a naked/standard. The only time I rode one of the big air cooled Indians, I was not underwhelmed. It was a great bike, and I enjoyed riding it, but I had much the same reaction you did-where’s the power? I wish Indian would do a little more to branch out. I think they should partner with one of the Asian firms to make a model overseas. An entry level bike that’s actually affordable in the US would put them over the top vs Harley. Triumph has proven it’s a winning strategy. I have always loved the Scout, but no way am I paying $14-15k out the door for a new one, or close to $10k for a five year old used one. They’ve got other options, too. Let’s not forget Indian had 4 cylinder bikes a long, long time ago. The more they differentiate themselves from H-D, the better off they’ll be. Unfortunately, it seems they are going the other way. I was really disappointed with them when they made the Chief look like another Harley.

You know, i can't disagree with you at all with most of your comments.
The plastic look is definitely a turn off for me. Both with HD and Indian. It's like wow a 6k Royal enfield has more metal and less plastic than these American bikes that cost more than double.
The sport chief with that headlight cowl thing shakes around at higher speeds which just screams cheap.
Considering so many people are switching to smaller bikes and or wanting more affordable options regardless of riders skill level. I think they do need to introduce a few smaller more affordable options. a 750cc FTR for a fraction of the price and a 600ish cc cruiser to compete with Yamaha and Honda would do gangbusters in sales.
