As a nord stage 3 compact fan its nice to see Yamaha making a keyboard that is stage ready! Will be interested to see how it compares when it is available! Shame it doesn’t have a full featured synth engine like the nord. But all the same sounds very crisp as you would expect from Yamaha.
Yamaha has been very impressive of late. I really enjoyed playing the MODX at the product demos I attended. The YC-61 will definitely be welcome in my rig when the time is right.
hey man, thanks for this video, i was very curious to hear something from this keybaord .. do you know if there will be a possibility to separate single parts on different midi channels (live piano section and organ section on the yc keybed and the ''synth and various'' section on an external master ) '?

Really enjoyed your video, and had a question about how you recorded the audio...you said you went USB from the YC to your iPhone...did you use any other app to record other than the video recorder? I'm going to have to try this same method of recording if so! Appreciate the demo of sounds, I really like this board!
Hey Dom, nice vid as always. I am looking to buy this keyboard .. however YAMAHA is making a huge mistake by not letting users know whether a 73 key version is planned in the immediate future or NOT. Most people who are into this keyboard are players and would enjoy a 73 key version. Not only Yamaha could lose customers, but I myself am torn whether I should make the purchase, or wait a few more weeks for a 73 version? or just go for a different board whatsoever.. in short I don't wanna order this to find out I missed the 73 version by an inch. thanks for the great sounds cya
I am still trying to sell my Roland VR760 which I simply don't have space for, this reminds we why I love it :-/. But, needs must.... thanks for sharing, it is amazing how far the emulation of feel and sounds have come on such a keyboard. I had a chap who owns a full leslie and b3 setup come up to me in a gig in Australia years ago and compliment me on my old Vk9 through an alesis quad into a stereo rig... if he was to hear this now... well :).
Many creative possibilities for someone that is creative. Too bad I'm not one of them. The transistor combo organs sound good but the tone wheel organs might be a bit digital sounding when the rotary is turned on for some players. On the other hand, that tone might be what someone might need as you can't really say that they are bad or unusable, just a little different. The electric, acoustic pianos and the synths with effects make the grade to my ears. As an all in one stage unit I think it will have a good many fans.
Hi can the YC be used as a sound module in Cubase 12 for example, 16 midi in and 16 midi out so I can have different sounds on multiple tracks? Thank you Gr.Ness
Mostly, the demonstration are Farfisa-like sound, not Hammond-like or pretend to be Hammond-like. Of course, there are Hammond-like jazz style sound. Every combo has those things.
No me gusta nada el sonido de Organo,por mucho que lo intente yamaha emula bastante mal los sonidos de Hammonds,suenan muy digital lejos queda comparandolos con los de Nord,para mi los mas reales e incluso Cruma.

I used the humble built in Voice Memo app on the iPhone :) but my DAW of choice for music making would be Cubasis 3 :)
