gauche = left
à gauche = to the left
sur le côté gauche = to the left side
tournez à gauche = turn left
droite = right
à droite = to the right
sur le côté droit = to the right side
tournez à droite = turn right
allez tout droit = go straight
Tournez à droite et continuez tout droit = Turn right and continue straight
Continuez tout droit sur 500 mètres = Continue straight for 500 meters
Continuez tout droit sur 500 mètres puis tournez à gauche = Continue straight for 500 meters then turn left
une intersection = intersection
Tournez à droite à l'intersection - Turn right at the intersection
demi-tour = U-turn
feu de circulation = traffic light
feu rouge = red light
Faites demi-tour au feu rouge = Make a U-turn at the red light
un rond-point = roundabout
Prenez la première sortie au rond-point = Take the first exit at the roundabout
un pont = bridge
Traversez le pont = Cross the bridge
centre-ville = downtown, town centre
Je dois aller au centre-ville = I need to go downtown
Arrêtez la voiture ici = Stop the car here
prochaine = next
Prenez la prochaine rue à gauche = Take the next street on the left
devant = in front of
Arrêtez-vous devant le métro = Stop in front of the metro
derrière = behind
Arrêtez-vous derrière le bus = Stop behind the bus
sous = under
Arrêtez-vous sous le pont = Stop under the bridge
sur = on
Arrêtez-vous sur le pont = Stop on the bridge
à côté de = next to
Arrêtez-vous à côté du restaurant = Stop next to the restaurant
en face de = opposite
Je suis en face de l'hôtel = I am opposite the hotel
environ / à peu près = about, roughly, approximately
La station de métro la plus proche est à environ 200 m = The nearest subway station is about 200 m far
Il faut marcher à peu près 5 minutes pour rentrer à l'hôtel = You have to walk about 5 minutes to get back to the hotel
là-bas = over there
Le supermarché est là-bas = The supermarket is over there
au début de la rue = at the beginning of the street
Arrêtez-vous au début de la rue = Stop at the beginning of the street
au bout de la rue = at the end of the street
Arrêtez-vous au bout de la rue = Stop at the end of the street
Tournez à droite au bout de la rue = Turn right at the end of the street
au coin de la rue = at the corner of the street
Je t'attends au coin de la rue = I am waiting you at the corner of the street
être perdu = to be lost
Je suis perdu, pouvez-vous m'aider ? = I'm lost, can you help me?
Où est …….? = Where is...?
Où est la gare ? =Where is the train station?
Où est la poste ? = Where is the post office?
Où est l'hôpital le plus proche ? = Where is the nearest hospital?
Ce musée est au nord de Paris = This museum is in the North of Paris
Comment puis-je aller à…..? = How can I go to…..?
Comment puis-je aller à la tour Eiffel ? = How can I go to the Eiffel Tower?
Comment se rendre à…..? = How to get to…..?
Comment se rendre à la tour Eiffel ? = How to get to the Eiffel Tower?
Est-ce le chemin pour aller à…..? = Is this the way to go to…?
Est-ce le chemin pour aller à la police ? = Is this the way to go to the police?
Pouvez-vous me montrer le chemin pour aller à …..? = Can you show me the way to go to…?
Pouvez-vous me montrer le chemin pour aller à la gare ? = Can you show me the way to the train station?
Est-ce loin d'ici ? = Is it far from here?
Est-ce que ce musée est loin d'ici ? = Is this museum far from here?
Est-ce près d'ici ? = Is it near here?
Y a-t-il une pizzeria près d'ici ? = Is there a pizzeria near here?
traverser la rue = to cross the street
Je traverse la rue = I am crossing the street.
passage piéton = pedestrian crossing/crosswalk
Nous traversons le passage piéton = We are crossing the crosswalk
garer la voiture = to park the car
Je gare la voiture sur le parking = I am parking the car in the parking lot

Why in the parking= sur le parking? Last Sentence* why not dans le parking?
Hello.
You can use both, sur or dans.
But "sur" is usually use for an outdoor parking (open area), in front of a supermarket for example.
Je t'attends sur/dans le parking devant le magasin. - I'll wait for you in the parking lot in front of the store.
For "dans", it can also be use for an underground parking or multi-storey parking garage.
Ma voiture est garée dans un parking souterrain. - My car is parked in an underground parking lot.
