      Well I’ve used HP for years they’re very reliable well working machines with really no performance issues & can last the distance even if you choose to not update for a few years or more....
      Another great review Matt, I dunno if you’ll see my comment but I am actually in the market for a new laptop & I do prefer HP so in your opinion would this laptop be good enough for general use like social media, email, RUclips, multitasking etc etc & still show a good overall performance and is that screen quality overall fairly good in your opinion?
      Thanks for your time, Keep up the great work!

      Yeah exactly. I had my old laptop for 5 years with an i5-6200u and Intel HD 520 graphics and it was fine, I even made it work for games as best I could. And yeah exactly, pretty much any laptop can be productive and run games if you’re willing to make it work. It would of made more sense to make it even cheaper by utilizing a QHD Display and it'll be even more battery efficient having a QHD Display instead of a 4K Display. For a screen that size a QHD Display would be a lot more beneficial for a proper level of detail. Can't wait to see manufacturers start using GRAPHENE BATTERY, lots of potential.

    • @DeanT1987
      @DeanT1987 4 года назад +1

      QHD displays turn out being more expensive for manufacturers from what i understand as companies who make QHD displays are rare, most of them either make 1080p or 4k, funny enough tho the only company who makes 4K OLED is Samsung for laptops

    • @adri.khaz.6290
      @adri.khaz.6290 4 года назад

      @@DeanT1987 4K is probably cheaper for them as it's quite often used in TV and it's been so many years being produced but for laptops not as much and it's not that often also that we see QHD display in laptops but instead in monitors and cellphones but there is still something to gain such as better battery life and perhaps even less overheating of the display thus may lead to longer longevity for the display and battery cell. We should definitely use QHD display in laptop unless 4K display becomes somehow more efficient while producing true 4K (if that's even possible). Or we start using GRAPHENE BATTERY, lots of potential.

    • @DeanT1987
      @DeanT1987 4 года назад

      @@adri.khaz.6290 Yea but again for us we want better battery life but for HP,Dell etc they want to buy panels at a good price and in large scale which may not be possible. I think the only laptop manufacturer that uses QHD extensively is Apple and I'm sure they have exclusive rights to the panels that are in their laptops and being that their high selling products like MBA and MBPro 13's have QHD panels they probably have manufacturer running at full capacity to keep up with demand. my theory idk if its true. I too wish I had QHD OLED in my HP Envy instead of this 4K at least for another hour of battery life.

It isn't really that fair to compare a 96W macbook pro 16 with this 200w (presumably) Envy 15 because in most cases a high wattage cpu or gpu ( of the same generation, f.e: an rtx 2060 vs the radeon 5600m) is better and it isn't fair to compare a laptop whose power draw is 50% less than the other one. The 5600m in the mbp 16 is an exception since it is a custom made 50w 5600m which performs somewhat the same as an 80W rtx 2060 but you get the idea.

    Hey man! Great content as always! I've been watching a ton of your recent videos to help me decide on my next machine. And based on what I've learned from your reviews, I've narrowed it down to either the HP Envy 15 or the ASUS Zephyrus G14. I plan to mainly use the device for Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects. For those purposes, which of the two do you think would be a better option?
    Thank you very much and keep up the great content!

    Yet another highly informative review loaded with real use insights. 👍
    Unfortunately, the 16:9 aspect ratio is a dealbreaker for my type of office based usage. I’ll always pick a 16:10 if available. Ergo, hello XPS15 9500!
    That said, I would still be very happy if given an Envy 15 by my employer (Haha! Like the UK NHS would ever be so generous!). It’s a fab laptop and the USB A is nice to see.
    PS: You and Josh are the best laptop reviewers on YT. By some distance; and that’s great going given how many decent reviewers there are on here in general!

      My G14 definitely doesn’t have 40ms delay. I tested mine at about 8. So not great, but the 120hz panel definitely isn’t useless. And I used to have a laptop with a touchscreen 3200x1800 display, and that was so much more annoying than it was worth. It got smudged, and having to change the resolution to 1080 whenever I wanted to game was so annoying I eventually permanently changed it to 1080 and couldn’t even tell the difference on the 14” screen. Also the 2060max q in the G14 is overclocked which gives it better performance than most laptops with a 2060 max q.
