I enjoyed that ride to Mildura, been there many times, I'm an expat now living in th USA., but love all these Aussie video's, thanks for sharing.
Glad that you enjoyed the video
Enjoyed that. We decided to hire a car for Mildura rather than waiting for a connecting flight. Great drive all the way, stopped at Charlton petrol station for a feed, arrived in Buronga about the same time as the plane.
Hello Hemi*, Glad that you enjoyed the drive
Lovely video & thanks for showing us a little bit of Mildura
You completely missed Wycheproof and the train line down the middle of the road!
I made a road trip on this way, back in the 2006. It was the best experience of my life.
Great video. Cheers.
Travel to Epping to Mildura and back regularly to up and my wife’s mom and sister and catch up with rallies Leaving Epping about 5am Is about 6 hour drive stopping Charlton for breakfast and stop at sea lake for a toilet stop before heading to where my wife’s mom lived in Merbein about 5 km out of Mildura heading towards Wentworth , worse time we hit a kangaroo near Bendigo one morning , but we have enjoyed the drive many times the cwa stalls on Saturdays mornings in wedderburn was a must stop .but because Mildura warm weather it was must to travel as early you can , when I first went to Mildura heat knock me around , now it’s just a beautiful sunny day in Mildura and if I was lucky I get go to the speedway bikes on the Friday night and the cars on Saturday night or go down apex park for a picnic near the grand Murray River getting a cool breeze off the river ,there are plenty things to do in Mildura and the Sunraysia
THANKS
Drive to Mildura this Christmas in shore it will give a gift this year after a tough year it has been money wise perhaps a stay in Mildura from 23rd December to 13th January works
You wouldn't want to drive to Mildura on a hot 40°C day......I've heard its a terrible drive around Ouyen.
I did it once in February, coming in from Wagga. It was warm around 28C when I left Wagga at 7.00 am, got to Balranald for Lunch, by the time I hit Euston it was really getting warm, up around 39C, the stretch of the Sturt Hwy between Euston and Mildura just seemed to be the longest, although in fact it wasn't, and boy I just couldn't wait to hit the swimming pool at the motel I was staying at in Mildura, just to re-hydrate, it was around 44C when I got there. Yes Mildura does get hot in the Summer and coming up from Melbourne to Mildura on the Calder Hwy can be the hottest trip you can make in Victoria. But it is a beautiful city, and the people there are very proud of their city and go out of their way to make strangers feel welcome.
@@bushranger51 Yes sounds right.
Yeah, so if its say 44°C in Melbourne it'll be 47-48°C in Mildura. Funny thing is Melbourne holds the record for hottest capital city (48.8°C in Feb 2009). I was living in Sunbury at the time, that day I checked my outside thermometer and its was 49. 8°C, 1 full degree hotter than Melbourne.
Up around Ouyen and the surrounding Mallee its well known for Australia's home of Tornado's too.
Try it in an FJ with manual A/C ..you wound the windows down, born in Mildura in '59 lived on Woolcunda Station people have got SOFT !
@@sjt275 ..........well I think some people just prefer cool weather.
When you're driving in that shitty 40+ weather your back sticks to the seat, you just wanna get home and have a cold shower and sit down with some Guinness extra stouts!
I'm from Adelaide and I absolutely live mildura and Victoria!! Always twice a year I go up there for a get away!! People are brilliant up there!! I also stay in berri in SA! Love it there 2! We play golf as well for our getaway!! Love Victoria to bits!! But for Melbourne nah they can have it!!
I'm from Melbourne, living in adelaide. You can have adelaide and blow the f******n joint up but I love Goolwa, Wallaroo, Beachport, Robe & Mt Gambier........and Melbourne's leafy eastern suburbs where I'm from.
Have you been to the Vic high country?
I drove up there couple of weeks ago, its awesome, very green with some snow, great pubs and food.
Very monotonous music for sure! Enjoyed the drive.
0:27. It's Calder alternative Hwy not Freeway 🎉
Thank you , my mistake
Rode my bike there in summer, 42 C in 2 days. I was young & fit😅.
the day when we visited temperature is also above 40c
