I cannot thank you enough Dane. I passed my driving test today first time and cannot stress how much your videos helped. I have never done a pre-test and just always practised your nine lessons.
Omg Dane. That is the best thing ever.. Miss. The same happened to me during my lesson today. I got so stressful and concentrating too much about vechile controls that forgot about mirrows... so i will use miss quietly in my mind on my next lesson...
I am an Irish girl living in Luxembourg the last two years. I had to sit my test in French yesterday. I only found Dane's channel before the exam (I had been watching ones from the UK where they use MPH) and I wish I found this channel sooner! Everything is so clear and concise! I was struggling with some things right up to my exam, but understanding in my native language even though I was driving on the right really helped me! Thank you for helping me pass my test on my first try!
Mar a deirtear i mo theanga dhúchais - comhghairdeas agus fan slán 🙂 That's great news and I'm glad to hear that you found the videos beneficial - even though it's a different side of the road the same message generally applies for observation, mirrors lots of other things. Hello Dane, I just passed my driving test today and I always watched your video and they helped me a lot. People who helped me during my driving test you are one of them. I really appreciate you. Thanks very much.
Hi Mr Dane, it was morning of Wednesday 5th of June the day i had my practical exam, youtube recommended this-but i`ve been following you since Winter. I actually have no good sleep that night because a lot of things running into my little head😅 So i opened youtube and found this. I watched, then i made sure i will remember good this technique. It was raining during my test but that doesn`t affect my driving. I was calm though i got mistakes..i actually said sorry to the examineer 😀 Then the judgement came, i said all the faults i made and accept it. I was ready already to accept i failed my first practical test. But, no! I passed! And i cried a lot because of happiness. Thank you for all the helpful videos, like what i said from my comment before i am from Norway but your videos helped me a lot. More power♥️
That is wonderful news, yes I remember a previous comment from someone from Norway. I'm delighted to hear that, congratulations on a wonderful achievement 😊🇮🇪 🇳🇴

Thank you so much for your videos specially because my first language is not English so with the subtitles it is pretty much helpful and the way you speak it makes everything easier. You were born to teach
Hi Dane I want to say thanks for your helpful tips. Today on my first attempt I passed my test. I watched all of your videos and they are all really in great quality. I have been reading your comments. Everyone was writing their success stories. I kept my comment at the end. And Today I passed my test. You are really great instructor. Thanks so much.
Hi Dane, I would just like to thank you for all of your wonderful videos. Did my test for the third time today and had recently come accross your videos. They were invaluable I passed with only 2 faults today and it was all thanks to your videos. I had done lessons for the last 2 and just used your videos for third time. Taught me the essentials of how to drive properly that I just hadn't picked up and didn't even realise it so thank you!!
+Ruth Bourke It's always really lovely to read a comment like that, thank you very much Ruth, I'm genuinely delighted for you and I'm glad the driving lesson videos helped. Congratulations on a great achievement.

Thanks a million for your easy to follow videos, passed my test today 3rd time lucky. This time round i just watched your videos and lots of practices no money wasted for more lessons glad i came across your amazingly educational videos.
Hi Dane. Thank you for all your tips, advice and information. I passed the driving test in my first attempt and big part of my success was thanks your RUclips Channel. Keep going!
Thank you so much guys I past first time with 3 minor fault on 30/04/2021in Wallasey test center , I had just 1 lesson from instructor the rest i lreant from RUclips channel from these beautiful RUclips instructors
This is extremely helpful as a refresher. So glad I found ur videos. Great explanation and I've learned something new. God bless u and keep it up as ur helping a lot! ☺️
Hi Dane, go raibh míle maith agat! I passed on my second attempt last Wednesday in Skibbereen, West Cork with only 5 grade 2's. I had watched almost every one of your videos leading up to my first and second test, and each one of your videos were a tremendous help, and also very accurate advice. Some of the advice given to me by my two instructors wasn't 100% bang on (some advocated dry steering, not using handbrake etc). Now time to purchase my first car and get on the road, thanks again and if anyone would like any advice for the route in Skibbereen specifically I have a lot of test specific info (there is a new tester there now with different places for turnabout and reverse around the corner), just reply to this comment and let me know!
i was taught to drive in the 1960s . the instructor told us that after looking in the mirrors , you must verify everything by line of sight as in looking over your shoulders to the left or right .
Thank you for this video!!! It helped me a lot!!! I have trouble remembering to check my mirrors but following MISS will help me remember everything in the correct order!!!
Great Video !!! I also teach students to check 3 mirrors when going straight at a roundabout but I know many instructors teach to only check centre and left when going straight. I just wouldn’t feel comfortable in teaching that
Thanks for this video. This is the only criticism I really get for my driving! Though I'd argue that 9/10 I have looked, I just haven't turned my head to do it.
Hi Dane , thank you so much for these wonderful videos🌷🌷. I really appreciate the effort you put on them. I really find checking mirrors very hard for me as I feel am gonna miss important things that could happen in front of me . I know I shoul do it in glance but still can’t master this 🙁
Hopefully you will master it with practice, it you just give quick checks you won't miss too much going on in front. It's important not to over-do the mirrors.
Very helpful video! I'm doing my EDT lessons at the moment and I myself forget both when and how to check the mirrors so this video really helped clarify that for me!
I know I'm sapost to ejust my mirrors before taking off. To see behind me properly. And to check my blind spots when using them. And I got to remember. MSMM Mirrors, Signal, Mirrors, Manoeuvre. To really help me out. And MISS is anther important thing to.

Brilliant videos, been so so helpful. I'm waiting for my second test in Wexford town, have you any advise or videos regarding observations when taking off? Ive done a number of pretests but I just can't get it into my head to remember my blind spot when taking off from doing turnabout and corner reverse it's really starting to stress me out.

Hi. Just wondering have you any tips about positioning correctly on the road? More specifically how to avoid letting the car 'drift' and keeping in between road markings? Thanks!
So when at a complete stop you check your rear view mirror and then whichever mirror in which the direction you'll turn? For example you check the rearview mirror and your right mirror then check for oncoming traffic then turn and same thing for left turns?
hi, MSM Mirror/Signal/Manoeuvre... expand the Manoeuvre to PSL (Position/Speed/Look) then... expand Look to LADA (Look/Access/Decide/Act).... If no sure repeat steps... (from DrivingSchool.mu) [[[Nice videos btw]]]

You are awesome sir. Thank you for your videos.
Glad to hear you enjoy them 😊 thanks
The following is not an acronym but it is something I remember in the style of a cheer for some sport. : A,4B,C,4F, LL,3M,PP, SS, TV
The letters indicate the first letter of 21 defensive driving terms but I learned in driver training for Federal Express.
Adjust speed visibility, blind-spot, blind stare, be prepared to stop, break early, conflict (potential conflict), four second rule, following distance, flow with the traffic, fixed stare,
Mirror scan, maintain safe space margin, maintain awareness, pause before acceleration, point of no return, scan the road ahead, stale green, traffic cluster, vision barrier.
There is a sentence or two to explain what each of the 21 terms means butt I don't think you need those details. An example is for mirror scan: every 3 to 5 seconds to keep centered in the lane and maintain awareness as well as to be aware of what's going on behind you.
Sounds a bit complicated
It may need more explanation. Example less complicated is search predict act or S.P.A.
Additional explanation could include: don't try to apply all 21 terms under every condition of driving.
The 21 terms may seem complicated at first glance. Yet they should be thought of as comprehensive.
Thanks for your feedback.

Hi Dane, if I stopped at traffic lights and I’m turning left, when light goes green do I check left and right mirror or do I check all 3 mirrors
I have two questions
1 am I allowed to move my mirrors in order to do the reverse around the corner and
2 Do I have to go into neutral with hand break up at all traffic lights or can I stay in 1st gear with hand break up
Thank you , I find your videos so helpful . I have my test next week 😬
You can adjust your mirrors if you want and you should wait in 1st gear with the handbrake up at lights. But it's not a problem to wait in neutral.
Very helpful!
Thank you
Hi.
Just wondering have you any tips about positioning correctly on the road? More specifically how to avoid letting the car 'drift' and keeping in between road markings?
Thanks!
It'll get better with experience but try using the left side mirror as guidance

Do you use MISS when taking junctions and coming up to a roundabout ? Or is there anything else you use it for
You can use whatever you want but Miss is my way of helping learners to get the work done in the proper order.
So when at a complete stop you check your rear view mirror and then whichever mirror in which the direction you'll turn? For example you check the rearview mirror and your right mirror then check for oncoming traffic then turn and same thing for left turns?
Sounds like a plan

Could you please make a video about how to control your stirring wheel when parking? Loved the acronym MISS thanks....
Yes I'm hoping to make a video on parallel parking soon but I have 2 others on bay parking, did you see any of them?
hi, MSM Mirror/Signal/Manoeuvre... expand the Manoeuvre to PSL (Position/Speed/Look) then... expand Look to LADA (Look/Access/Decide/Act).... If no sure repeat steps... (from DrivingSchool.mu) [[[Nice videos btw]]]
Interesting, probably best not to over complicate things.

When turning right or left, is it important to check both mirrors or should I check only the side mirror where I am taking the turn? Thank you Dane!
Both would be good, but even if you just check the side it wouldn't be a bad thing to do
