  • Learn how to check and use your mirrors when driving!
    Checking your mirrors correctly is one of the most important things you must master when starting to drive. The mirrors are also one of a car's most critical safety features, so drivers must know when and how to use them so everyone can stay safe on the roads.
    In this video, driving instructor Jacqueline goes through exactly when to check your mirrors while driving to pass your exam and stay safe afterward.
    You will learn:
    -Finding a good body position
    -When you should check your mirrors in general
    -How to check your mirrors when turning left and right
    -How to check your mirrors when changing lanes
    -When and how to check your blind spot
    -How to use your mirrors when starting from a stationary position, e.g. a parking lot
    -How to use your mirrors when stopping your car
    ____

    I did my driving lessons as a 16 year old in California many years ago. Quite a few things stuck with me. But funny, I remember my instructor taught us to not rely on the mirrors. Or that’s what I remember, anyway. One day I realised that I don’t use the side mirrors nearly enough! Ive been more aware of that since that realization 😅

    In my cars and light trucks, I have always adjusted my side mirrors so that I don't have blind spots. I don't need to see what's directly behind me through my side mirrors. Of course I make an exception in a truck that doesn't have the windshield mirror, provided the side mirrors have "fish-eye" mirrors.

    Can you let me know on different instances if there was a a double parked car and there was a vehicle coming toward you from the opposite direction (before you went or go around the double parked car) what would you need to do? Also if as you were going around the parked car and a car was coming toward you from the opposite direction what would you do then?

    • @Zutobi_US
      @Zutobi_US  11 месяцев назад +1

      When encountering a double-parked car with an oncoming vehicle, it's important to prioritize safety. If there is enough space, you can wait for the oncoming vehicle to pass before proceeding. If not, you may need to yield and wait for a safe opportunity to maneuver around the double-parked car. Always prioritize caution and follow the rules of the road in such situations.

    I was hoping this vid would cover proper adjustment of L and R mirrors. I can't get wife and daughter to understand that they're not for staring at the doors on the car, but rather they're supposed to be aimed a bit outwards. With proper adjustment, and monitoring the rear-view and side mirrors carefully, you know if someone is in blindspot and there's no need to turn entire head to look at blinds spot...

However, When you are entering freeway @ 7:37, you turned on left signal and then you saw there was a car on your left so you turned off signal!!. So my question, do we need to turn signal when entering freeway?....
