If been modeling hon30 for over 18 years now. back then it was just resign kits available. now there is so much available make modeling the scale so much easier. I found PLaza Japan is a great place to order trains. I order a HO scale steam engine and it came here in a week. very fast shipping and excellent service. For English 009 Hattons or rails of Sheffield has great service.

Oh I have the 109 chassis under a bunch of models. There are places in the UK which buy them on mass from Japan so I buy them from the UK sellers.

I ordered my 11-109 from Narrow-Japan for a On18 project, it only took a month to be shipped. I wished my On30 units ran as good as the Kato unit does. Tempted to get rid of the On30 stuff and go HOn30 just so that I can run the Kato units.

Honestly, it's the increased availability in general combined with the fact that nostalgia for big roadnames is on a decline and the next generation of model railroaders want something a bit more unique. Additionally, HOn30 retains the detail of HO while being able to run in a much more compact space.

I'm already looking into more of it. Do you have anything in the gauge? I'm eyeing Sir Handel and thinking about kitbashing some small N Scale steam locomotives that could pass off as HOn30 steamers

I mainly have N and G scale, I don't have any HOn30. But once I have space for some proper layouts I'm thinking of making a sectional portable HOn30 layout.

Bachmann UK also make a whole bunch of 009 models as do some other UK manufacturers. Then Europe has HOe which is also HO on 9mm track.

So wait if the chassis for the box-cab is a 109 N scale one does this mean N scale track works for 009/HOn30?
I wanna start but not sure about some things pls give feedback

It sure does! Peter Sam and the Boxcab were seen running on an N Scale layout throughout this video.

I'm going to start a HOn3 railroad soon (accounting into a 365 solar cycle, and if society can quit having various freak outs). Mostly all scratch built 'cuz I can probably machine, 3d print, customize & decal for less money than manufactures wanna try and charge. yes I'll have some brass models but still. I'mma try and do a mix of the D&RGW, and Virginia & Truckee. Why HOn30? 'Cuz The track is narrow, and I HAVE to fill in more space with scenery...which means more realistic rock formations, realistic rivers, and best of all: scenic vistas. Gonna also have to add a volcanic field to my list of features I wanna cross (yes I'm NOT building a railroad to handle specific types of cars, but rather what kind of geological feature I want to see, this is more accurate to the prototype some rivet counters want to shove down our throats, the railroad didn't get to choose the car, but rather how to get from A to B, thus chose the scenery)
