For those that are unfortunate to be in jail and not as well built: on a realistic scenario, what could he have done to avoid being raped? Would he really got killed if he screamed or called the guards? Perhaps someone who knows the prison system could answer this. It would help anyone ending up in jail.
It really depends on the prison itself, there’s no one set of rules. It’s the politics of the prison. Guards might care, they might not. You might be able to join a white power gang if you are white, or become of a Muslim if you black and get protection that way. You could pretend to be crazy and they might lock you in the solitary, you would be safe, but the lack of human interaction would drive you insane or lock you up with the real nuts if they have a mental health ward inside the prison. American prisons are overall horrible. Don’t commit crimes, don’t hangout with people that commit crimes or are even remotely sus, don’t travel at night if you don’t have to, don’t piss off cops, be nice to everyone, and for the most part jail/prison won’t be a part of your life…
