    Thank you Jennifer and Steve for educating us on the best papers for the job! I really love that Steve has become a more Audio/visual part of the Bliss experience, as he has a lot to offer also, and of course little Rose for our comic relief-love when she’s digging around and your response to it Jennifer! Excellent! Never tried coloring on tan paper but cannot wait to order.

    I had to replenish my printer with plain paper earlier this week but all I could find in my stash was Bristol Vellum 67# paper. I opened it up and it’s just like card stock. I didn’t want to waste it for every day printing so I sat it to one side until I could find out what to do with it. You have answered my question! I didn’t realize what I had 😊

    Excellent info, thanks so much. More “insider info” videos like this please.
    I would love to hear what you two think of the Yasutomo Multi Media Mineral Paper. “Made from rocks, not trees!” says the pad cover. It also says “vellum surface” but it feels very smooth to the touch. I’ve not had good results using coloured pencil, it seems my Prismacolors are too waxy resulting in clumping, but I’ve gotten some beautiful results with Daler-Rowney acrylic inks, with two light coats. The opinion of a knowledgeable paper nerd and a skilled colourist with a full arsenal of tools would be fascinating.

    I Loved this video! I use the white Neenah cardstock for stamping and coloring on, but I like to use Bazzill Basics Worldwide (either the 8 1/2" x 11" or the 12" x 12" size) in 'Peanut Cluster' cardstock to use for stamping and coloring. However, Bazzill stopped making the 'Peanut Cluster' "flavor" ☹️☹️, so I'm always on the lookout for a good tan color cardstock. I like to use Canson XL for drawing/coloring, but I like to challenge myself coloring on different colors of paper... on namely tan-colored paper though. Thank You, Coloring Bliss, for all that awesome knowledge!! 😍😁🙂😊

    For Copic Markers, I have always loved X-Press-It Cardstock. But you can't really add much in the way of colored pencils. It is at least 100lbs or more, and somehow my printer can handle it with no problems. With my colored pencils, it's Neenah in a higher weight. But I don't like using my Copic Markers in it. I can't wait to try the paper I bought from you guys! Thank you so much!

    I have been using Springhill 67 lb but find it a bit too toothy and revert back to plain cardstock, 110 lb. I just cant decide which is better and am wondering if the 80 lb. Springhill is not as toothy. I prefer the tooth but the outcome just doesn't satisfy me. I like the sheen the cardstock gives my stuff, it is lighter in color and doesn't do faces and hair or fur as well. I have been debating this for years, doing swatches, whole pictures in both. What is your opinion of the 80 lb vs. the 67 for tooth? Love your channel, btw.

    What I'd like to see as a public (free to all, not just Bliss Partners) follow-up video for this is a video covering home printers that can officially stand up to printing on at least the 67 lb papers, please. By officially I mean as documented in the official product manual. Not just because people manage to poke it through. I've researched printers up to around the $300 range now, and according to the official manuals, most laser printers in that range can only handle around 43 lb paper, and some InkJet in that range can only handle up to 27 lb. If I go to the expense of buying another printer, I cannot risk potentially voiding my warranties (I'd probably buy an extended warranty plan) by using it for off-label usage. That is throwing paper weights through it it was never intended to support. Just because I want to print some coloring pages? Nope, I couldn't do it, because the printer would have to last years, with my warranty intact.
    I really adore and respect both of you, and the Coloring Bliss brand, but not everyone can afford $25 monthly for the Partner Workshops.

      @deepowers3117 2 года назад +2

      That is a very good question, because many of us are on low budgets and have ink jet printers over ten years or more old. If you get a paper jam well inside the machine, you might as well kiss it good-bye. I had to literally take mine apart and very slowly and gently remove the deeply emboweled page avoiding any tearing of it or hard contact by it or my fingers with any other wire or machine part on your paper's way out. Rebuilding your printer is fun, too.

    • @colourcharm1401
      @colourcharm1401 2 года назад

      @@deepowers3117 I don't have the capacity to take electrons apart now. I cannot manage to change the blade in a pencil sharpener, with a precision screw driver.. Everyone online is so condescending about printing coloring images, "just print on whatever you want, regardless of machine specifications. If it breaks, just buy a another printer." Sorry, but I can't afford to do that. Having to deal with that attitude constantly is making me want to just unsubscribe from the coloring groups.

      Printers are so frustrating! I’m sorry you’re both having trouble.
      I wish there was a way that making all our content free for everyone would work as a business plan. Coloring Bliss is our primary family income and it financially supports many people. As you know, thoroughly researching and learning about things like printers takes a lot of time and preparing lesson plans, filming, editing, and hosting a website is very time consuming and expensive. The only way that Coloring Bliss can exist is if we can make it profitable. Having said that, we strive to balance our paid and free content so that there is something here for everyone (often sacrificing potential income opportunities along the way). I am very aware of the members of our community that are on tight or fixed incomes. I want our free content to continue to grow but I also don’t want Coloring Bliss to disappear. Thank you for your support and understanding as we strive to find the best balance for us and for the Bliss community as a whole.
      Also…I would recommend sending your specific questions to Steve via email through our website. He may be able to help you.

      @@ColoringBliss Dear Steve and Jennifer, My computer kicked me off the page before I could finish what I meant to say. Those not so happy experiences with my printer were supposed to be the intro to a Thank you for telling me so much about paper. Now, I know where to look on the packages to find that information and how to understand what it means. That understanding should help me consider whether or not I think my printer can handle my intended purchase. If I don't know, I can always call my printer's maker and ask him the same thing. My question about possible member discounts, was simply, because after ten years as a member, I didn't know. I appreciate all you two are doing to help people have access to free material, and just wanted to know if there was a discount for members, and how to get the prices for what you have for us to use. Thank you, for your product reviews, your hard work at keeping us informed about how to use products and your nice demos on how to make our attempts at coloring to look better than they did before your videos. The tremendous amount of work involved in running a business like the one you and Steve do must be exhausting, and your knowledge about coloring, Jennifer, I respect very much. Thank you both, Dee Powers

      @@ColoringBliss I understand you can't make all content free. I wasn't advocating that. Just a follow-up on this video with suggestions on printers that can officially print on at least the 67 lb Bristol vellum paper that everyone is advocating. I, in no way, would want you to make everything free, because people wouldn't appreciate it. In the past, I've been involved in hobbies that involved online freebies.The more you make and give, the more people expect. Often with more complaints than thank yous. I'd never expect everything for free. ;)

I'm in Northern Ireland and sadly the shipping is too much for me, and the few uk distributors of springhill britsol vellum I can find only will ship to mainland. When I try looking for "vellum" paper in local art stores or print shops the only paper coming up is the translucent type of paper people use in papercrafts? Is there analternative name for the finish so I can try finding some that will ship to me?
